Nike is pulling out complete ass garbage when it comes down to footy jerseys in Europe now that they've got some UEFA licenses. I hope they don't have the same team that created this crap designing NFL jerseys

So am I really gonna have to root for Peyton on the Titans?
This feels all wrong and I am thoroughly disgusted right now.

I've heard rumors that say to "prepare yourself"

so it sounds like theyre gonna be sorta radical.

I never understood this. Its not like Nike is allowed to take any liberties with the aesthetic design, right? I mean they can do things with the material, where to have perforations etc. but I doubt they're allowed to alter the arrangement of colors/patterns without the approval of the teams.

Amendola could be New England’s new Welker

Silva pointed out on Thursday that Rams restricted free agent Danny Amendola has been spotted in the Boston area. Our pal Tom Curran of CSNNE.com elaborated on the topic, sharing details of his efforts to pry details from Amendola’s agent, Erik Burkhardt, which seems to be even harder that squeezing blood from the Blarney Stone. (And that’s the closest I’ll come to acknowledging that tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day.)

The Patriots have a well-earned reputation for reading the riot act to agents who represent players in whom the Pats are interested. “If word of this gets out,” the warning usually goes, “we’re pulling the plug.”

As Curran explains it, this one is even more delicate than usual because Amendola possibly would replace Wes Welker, who currently wears the franchise tag. If Welker catches wind of the possibility that the Pats will try to pry Amendola away from the Rams, Welker could sign the franchise tender, which would give him a fully-guaranteed one-year salary in the range of $9.4 million.

Then again, maybe that’s what the Patriots are hoping to do. Once Welker signs the tender, he could be traded.

Maybe to the Rams. For the rights to Danny Amendola, and perhaps the second-round pick the Rams squeezed out of the Redskins last week.

It would be a win-win deal. The Rams need a savvy, experienced slot receiver, who would provide a reliable safety valve for developing quarterback Sam Bradford. In New England, Tom Brady is the savvy and experienced one; adding Amendola allows them to go younger and cheaper at the position.

Regardless of what the Patriots are up to, it looks like they’re up to something.

Some of you would say they always are.

I'm not buying it, first of all, what the article doesn't mention is that Amendola was in the area for a funeral and he did not meet with the Pats.

Second of all, I don't see them trading Brady his BFF and certainly not for just a second rounder.

Third of all, I have a Welker jersey so please don't let him go :(

I have five soccer jerseys and all of them are from Adidas. Nike does shitty soccer jerseys.

I think the main problem from the Patriots perspective is his age. It's hard to give an older receiver that kind of money. Even one as productive as Welker. That and the Pats can be cheap as fuck.

Buddy Nix said yesterday on a radio show on the Fan590 in Toronto. That Mario's wife found a house and put an offer on it before Mario had anything even signed. It's near Jim Kelly's place in suburban Buffalo.

I saw that from Florio and rightly ignored it. Amendola is no Welker. I'd be thrilled if someone signed him and we got a 2nd round pick. The on e thing the Rams actually have is a potentially decent slot guy in Salas. He flashed briefly, then had a pretty bad leg fracture, so it's hard to rely on him. but supposedly it wasn't anything too severe that would rob him of speed

I loved what I saw of Amendola when he was with the Eagles. Good quickness and decent hands. I think he could do well with the right team. If you have creative coaches that can move him around and get him mathed up against a LB he can be productive. He needs to be a 3rd option though. He is not going beat CB in coverage very often.

Admittedly, my judgement of him is when he was the best WR the Rams had, and defenses were so unafraid of the other WRs that they had their safeties 15 yards off the LOS. Still, can't see the Pats or anyone else giving up a #2 for him, which is what he was tendered at

I think the Rams can be in really good shape at WR if they sign Manningham to be their #2, re-sign Amendola to be #3, and then Draft Floyd. Floyd and Manningham both have good speed and that will make teams back their DBs up and then Amendola can work underneath against the LBs. The Rams biggest problem last year was teams would play their CBs on the line and their safetys like 8 - 10 yards deep. You gotta have guys who an put the fear of being beat over the top in those guys heads.

You like Floyd? I know he ran fast at the combine, but from the limited times I saw ND, he didn't strike me as particularly fast. Like I said, only saw him play a couple of games.

From just reading around the net and forums, it seems fans from all teams are excited by Hill. He'll never last until #33, but if the Rams get Manningham and keep Amendola, they need a burner. Just not sure Floyd or Blackmon can get vertical in the NFL

Well looks like Royal has signed with the Chargers.

I guess the Redskins can't scoop up every #2 and #3 reciever available in free agency.

He would have been a nice to have, since he has receiving/return skills unlike Banks. I think they'll now want to see if Aldrick Robinson has developed, since they brought him up from the PS late last year to apparently prevent another team from signing him.

Manningham's best asset is going deep. Do the Rams or Bradford even plan on throwing the ball over 10 yards?

Tried last year. No one could get open and they couldn't protect. Bradford got worse as the year went on from the beating.

Didn't know Manningham was a deep threat kind of guy. Honestly, from what I saw of the Giants, the only guy that really wowed me was Cruz. The Rams need a #2, so I have no problem if they grab Manningham. But the Giants being just fine with him leaving gives me pause

I loved Floyd at the combine. He ran the best routes, had the best hands, and is so quick into and out of his break. I think he could definitely become a good outside Wr in the NFL. He isnt a flatout burner but he will run such good routes that he will set guys up to get behind them. I was really amazed how good he looked.

Has very little to do with his ability and more to do with the depth the team already has and the cap space issues Reese has to deal with.

There's no question the Giants would want him back if they could afford him. When you have to pay Cruz and Nicks in the near future, there's no money for a 6-7 million/yr third receiver.

I like Nicks more. Bigger body, as much big play potential, monster blocker in the run game and he eats up defenders allowing guys like Cruz and Manningham to do their thing (Cruz started to draw that same attention in the latter half of the year opening things up for Nicks as well).

The only knock against Hakeem is that he is a bit injury prone.

As you say, he's your 3rd WR. Is it good value for the Rams to pay him as a #2? Can he fulfill that role? With Garcon and Meachem, I had full confidence in what they were. Very solid #2 guys. Not so sure on Manningham. No problems with overpaying for a true #2. I do have a problem overpaying for a #3

@yankeehater I thought Floyd looked really good at the combine as well, but reading the post-combine reports, people seemed to think he never played that fast

Reggie Bush? I mean, he does have a SB ring while Mario has some tattoos

yeah but he got embarrassed on tv when kardashian crashed his post super bowl interview, and now he's only worth a 10 dollar pizza in the public's eyes.

Manningham had plenty of deep passes completed. I know offhand he had at least a couple TD drops in that same instance, notably vs. SF in the regular season. Nicks had one against Washington in Metlife.

Curious what the Giants do with the third wideout position. Jernigan may win it based off what's currently available, unless they somehow are able to nab somebody like Stephen Hill in the draft.

I didnt watch a ton of Floyd in college but I wonder how much of that was due to their offense just not being very good. That team seems to have a lot going on the last few years with changing coaches and such.

Broncos fans have tracked the teams plane (insane the world we live in) and it's en route to NC, where Peyton currently is

My guess is they make the announcement that he signs with the Broncos today or tomorrow.

Yes. He was our clear #2 before Cruz emerged. Steve Smith had more catches but he was played primarily out of the slot. Mario and Hakeem were on the outside. He played that role and even played #1 receiver pretty well when Nicks and Steve Smith went down in 2010 and he was the only dependable receiver on the field.

By that point, Manningham was the only WR on the field who was healthy.

The real knock against Manningham is that he's not the sharpest route runner out there. He's got blazing speed, pretty good hands and if he cleans up the route issues, he can absolutely succeed if he has a clear #1 across from him.

We can't pay him but I'm sorry to see him go. He'll be immortalized for that Super Bowl catch though. Much like Tyree.

I'll take Mario over Garcon any day of the week. Meachem is more of a slot guy, no?

Defensive end Mark Anderson is on his way to visit the Miami Dolphins, according to a league source.

Get your filthy fins of him, punks! They're gonna overpay him like crazy, to compensate for not getting Peyton.

Honestly I don't understand why Peyton doesn't sign with Arizona.

Well, reading that account of their first meeting didn't sound like it did much in convincing him to come there. Arriving hours late to a meeting isn't the best way to say, "Welcome to town!"

Thanks for the info. You are selling me on Mario to the Rams :)

Garcon I know from all his games vs HOU. That guy can run. Drops are his issue. Meachem was in the slot, but that was more out of fit relative to the rest of the team. He can definitely play outside. Rams really wanted him, but imo, made a tactical error in first day targeting of Finnegan, who I think would have waited a day for Fisher

Titans vs Broncos

It seems that if he's serious about winning a SB, the Broncos are the most ready for a deep playoff run. The Titans aren't too shabby though, and having CJ and Manning would scare the crap out of defensive coordinators.

Should be interesting.

Honestly I don't understand why Peyton doesn't sign with Arizona.

Would you want to face the 49ers pass rush with a bum neck?

Manning wants another shot at a Super Bowl and its an easier road to go through the AFC West then it is the NFC West (if he signs with Denver).

If he signs with Tennesse, the AFC South is going to blow chunks next season (Indy sucks, Houston is getting ravaged in free agency (their offense will still be there though), Jacksonville blows).

Denver gives Manning the easiest shot at a division title.

It's actually the offense that's getting ravaged. Mario was hurt most of last year, and their D was near dominant by the end of the year
