Poor Alex. He is a class act and gets treated like dirt. Wish he had the skills to match his work ethic and maturity but the nfl is a business :(

Peypey possibly going to the Broncos? Fuck this timeline!

lol @ caddy Smith

Man, can you please stop teasing us and give at least a little bit of information about how it's possible to disappear for months without access to the web today?

Also, I feel bad for Alexis.

I'm John Titor's son.

No teasing, but I can't disclose that information. It's classified. Not joking. It's literally classified. By the US government.

Raiders signed two injury bugged players in Ron Bartell and Mike Brisiel. Brisiel signed a deal for 5 years and can only play in a ZBS, Texans fans say that he was the weakest link on their top rated oline so that can only mean he's average to above average.

Bartell hasn't played a full season since.....forever?

The only thing that worries me about SF is their WR. Outside of VD, who else is there? Crabtree, Moss, and Williams? VD is awesome, but the others don't really inspire a lot of confidence. Then again with Manning tossing the ball it isn't much of a factor. Please save the scared stuff, it's an honest question. VD is a TE of course.

With Peyton throwing the ball you don't have to worry about having elite WRs. You do have to worry about protecting him, wasn't Alex Smith the most sacked QB last season? He held on to the ball too long so that could've been the issue.

I think it'd be easier to lure Lloyd or Manningham if we sign Manning. Problem is, they might be signed before then... Make up your mind Manning! Could also address it in the draft. But yea, your right, we don't have a ton of great WR talent at the moment.

I was so sure he was going to be a titan and then everyone at work is telling me that this was breaking on ESPN. I don't know what to think anymore.

Receiving core is fine. Davis and Walker are playmakers at TE. Add another solid receiver and we're good.. I hope Gore returns to form at catching passes out of the backfield. It was strange seeing him drop so many passes last year.

Manning doesn't need an elite receiver to be effective, and while the Niners offense is surely lacking, their defense is one of the best the NFL has to offer. That alone would go a long way for Manning since I don't think Indianapolis ever had a Defense like the Niners.

So I wouldn't worry about their offense since they don't need to be elite to win games anyway. They just have to score enough and let the Defense do their thing. That's why Manning to the Niners is so terrifying. He doesn't have to carry the team, more like the team will carry him to the promised land. It will be fascinating to see how far they'll go with him, that is IF he signs with them of course :)

If it's any indication, Lloyd said on Denver radio that he would try to comeback to Denver if Manning came. So it is plausible that Lloyd could come to SF. I guess if Smith could do it with those guys, it isn't much of a leap to think that Manning could have them doing more.

I don't know what to think anymore either. It's 80 degrees right now, didn't get shit done at work, and have followed this all week. I think I'm going to go dark until Manning figures out what the hell he is doing. Hold down the fort Bronco-Age.

Are we waiting on the draft until Manning signs?

You really are a secret agent and you went on a mission to save the world?!

YOU'RE LIKE JACK BAUER!

I salute you, brave man.

“ @ DunnRyanC: from a fan/PR standpoint can MIA afford to let Flynn walk?” - YUP. Just as comfortable with Ryan Tannehill. Just trade up 4 him

I would love for the Dolphins to trade up for Tannehill.

He doesn't pass the name test. No QB with a name like Tannehill will ever win a Super Bowl. He might win you some games, but never will that name win a Super Bowl.

Speaking of Rivers, did he just have a down year? Remember hearing rumors he was playing injured last season. I had him in 2010 on my fantasy team and he was a monster stat wise.

Yeah. He looked like he was injured, but he says he was healthy. I think it was two factors this season:

1) O-line was ravaged by injuries. Dielman and McNeill missed a lot of time (both Pro Bowlers), and his protection sucked for most of the year. For most of the season he was running for his life. Wasn't until the last 5 games of the season when Gaither was signed that he got some protection.

2) He was pressing and forcing throws. He didn't say it outright, but the media believes that the offense was pressing to score a lot because they couldn't trust the defense to get off the field or generate a turnover. I could see this being true since Manusky's soft defense couldn't get a third down stop to save their lives.

Hopefully next year there will be a return to form for him. I still might try to draft him again this year in fantasy if his stock has fallen enough by the time my league drafts.

Ahh, I remember Manusky and our defense never getting off the field. Oh shit, he's the Colts defensive coordinator? As if their defense didn't have enough problems as it is.

How much did Seattle give up for Whitehurst? and how much did they pay for him.....not including grooming expenses.

also I'm sure I'm the only person out there that thinks Volek could start for some of these other teams in the league.

Dolphins or Browns should trade for him....or should've f'n signed him when he was a free agent last year. :/

would you start

Mark Sanchez
Matt Moore
Colt McCoy
Tarvaris Jackson
Rex Grossman
John Beck
Lil Bro McCown

over him?

these players were all slated to start or competing for a starting role last year, when Volek was a free agent.

They swapped 2nd round picks (20 pick difference) and gave up a 3rd in the following years draft I think.
