Family of Florida boy killed by Neighborhood Watch seeks arrest

I think Zim has an idea how much his ass is out in the open now. It's crazy how easily someone could just walk up, take him out, and disappear.

I can't see how that would be "easy" at all, if anything this guy has
a) guns and willingness to kill
b) friends in high places protecting him.

In fact it'd be incredibly hard to get to such a man under REGULAR circumstances, much less when the country's watching.

Do they even know where Zimmerman is?

Well, it's Friday night, so he's either out on patrol or having a smoke with his fellow oligarchs.

Shouldn't the FBI or Internal Affairs or someone above the police chief's head be demanding some answers? The mayor? The governor? The worst thing that could happen is that he gets arrested 3 months from now, then easily wins the case because there was no proper evidence collection because the cops believed he didn't commit a crime.

And with crooked cops and a crooked DA in Sanford, there's no way he gets a competent case brought against him in this town.

Fuck this shit.

I swear if Zimmerman gets away with this I'm going to do something I'll regret.
Orlando is not a long drive from where I live.

If Orlando is close to you. Send e-mails/letters to your local politicians or go protest while the story is hot. Don't pretend like you are going to do something rash after the fact.

Yeah. That's what Im thinking will happen.

That part is hilarious

I think Zim has an idea how much his ass is out in the open now. It's crazy how easily someone could just walk up, take him out, and disappear. If he's smart, he's hiding out under police guard. Which makes this even better/worse. I hope this ends up all over their faces.

So if this is what passes for laws in Florida, couldn't someone just start an altercation with Zimmerman, shoot him, and then claim self-defense?

*screams help* (hoping for people to come)
*gets shot*

= the dangerous aggressor who will cause bodily harm.

Yes?

No, corrupted assholes. Fuck you bunch, I hope all those involved in this get arrested and rot in jail. Criminals are 1 thing, criminals pretending to be police is another whole level of sickness. This isn't the middle ages, bastards.

I really wish I didn't listen to those 911 calls. I've been laying in my bed for the past several hours and all I can think about is those anguished cries for help.

I'm not talking storming his safe house like the SWAT team and going all action hero on him. If someone knew what he looked like, knew where he would be, and had a quick egress out, someone with the right determination could pull a Jesse James on him. This guy could have to live the rest of his life watching his back if he gets off, scot free. "Hey aren't you..?" bam-bam, car drives up, you get in, drive off, switch cars, head for the highway. Done.

So if this is what passes for laws in Florida, couldn't someone just start an altercation with Zimmerman, shoot him, and then claim self-defense?

nah, with the level of incompetence, just avoid involving the cops. Don't call them at all.

Seems like it's actually a bit worse than that.

In 2010 Justin Collison, the son of a Sanford cop (and the grandson of a Florida Judge), brutally beat a black homeless man unconscious. The supervising officer refused to arrest Collison and it took several weeks, the media running with the story and the release of a videotape of the beating before charges were filed. The same tape the Sanford PD had from day one. Sounds familiar right? This whole incident was such a debacle that Police Chief Brian Tooley was ousted (and replaced by Bill Lee). But it turns out the supervising officer who initially declined to arrest Collison despite having clear evidence a crime had been committed is the same goddamn guy who was in charge the night of the Martin shooting. One Anthony Raimondo, who was investigated and cleared of any wrongdoing for the Collison incident. The same Anthony Raimondo was relieved of duty (with pay) for filing a false police report and after accusations of lying under oath in 2009, but again later cleared to return to service.

The Sanford PD is a fucking joke.

Edit: And the prosecutor who "concluded that there is no basis for any criminal charges to be filed against Sgt. Raimondo for perjury, misconduct or any other crime" and cleared him to return to the department two years ago? State Attorney Norman R. Wolfinger. The same Wolfinger the Sanford PD just handed the Martin case over to.

Fuck this topic is making me so angry.

Unbelievable. Just... damn.

Except Zimmerman's whereabouts are unknown and the Sanford PD refuse to disclose his location ostensibly for that very reason. They apparently take death threats more serious than an actual killing.

If he isn't going to be jailed I hope he is scared of being killed/looking over his shoulder the rest of his worthless life.

When I read stories like this - it makes me afraid to be a resident of Florida. People like Casey Anthony and Zimmerman are around and the police are often a part of the problem. Hopefully justice is served.

Here's two quotes from The Atlantic article back to back that should be reason enough for anyone to look closer at this case:

"At no time did George follow or confront Mr. Martin. When the true details of the event become public, and I hope that will be soon, everyone should be outraged by the treatment of George Zimmerman in the media," the letter said.

"Shit, he's running," Zimmerman says.

"Are you following him?" the dispatchers asked.

"Yes," Zimmerman responds.

"We don't need you to do that," the dispatcher says.

The dispatcher misheard him, obviously he said "Ok I will not follow him, oh no he's turned around!" afterwards.

has this been posted on Reddit? I think this should spread around on the internet, no way should someone be able to get away with this, I feel like I will have to mark Florida off my list of places to visit

At this point I wish the show Dexter was real so that there's some guy out there who will get Zimmerman and all these crooked cops with Dexter-style justice.

God damn it. How is this guy still walking free? What is wrong with the sanford police? The things that happens in this world...

How the fuck are these police still in charge when we have absolute proof they were lying and covering up from the 911 call?

God this pisses me off.

All over the news this whole week in Daytona Beach. Really puts a damper on the festivities here.. well I hope what should happen happens. There's a group here ( maybe joking, maybe ) established a "Find Zimmerman" group. lol. He's probably hiding in a crab hole in Cocoa Beach !

The tape of Zimmerman's own call is DAMNING. I mean, he flat out said "he's running", then you hear him get out of his SUV to try and chase him.

How can you claim self-defense after that? Trayvon ran because he was being followed by a stranger in an SUV! Of course he's going to fight when this person catches up to him. What the fuck?

This is rage educing.

How come the lady on the phone says she thinks someone is being shot right after the first shot went off. When the second shot went off, she says only a single shot. So is it one shot or two shots? It sounded like two shots to me.

Wow. This entire situation is pretty infuriating.

This is one of those situations where I wouldn't be opposed to someone taking justice into their own hands. That includes the police officers who are undoubtedly involved in this.

I've always felt that corrupt cops should face double the punishment, and it boggles the mind that a guy with a history of corruption would be allowed to continue a role that affords so much power.

I'm at a complete loss for words. The tape is damning. Glad to see the AP and major media on it now, but I still have little faith that such a sickening culture like that will change.

Watch this bit of an interview with Trayvon's mother.

I swear, people on this planet are fucking useless.

how the fuck is it self defense if this zimmerman asshole pursued him and absofuckinglutely caused the confrontation? so you can pick fights and then kill people when they fight back? really florida? holy crap this pisses me off.

And that's what makes the claim of self-defense frivolous. Self-defense cannot be claimed by a person who provoked the use of force against himself. The evidence lends itself to an inference that Martin had a right to the use of force against Zimmerman, but not vice versa. So even if Martin struck first, he was entitled to do so, having first been placed in reasonable fear of bodily harm by an adult man chasing him down the street. And if he did so, Zimmerman would not be entitled to shoot him.

Of course, this is all being filtered through a racial lens, in which it is reasonable for white people to fear black people (who always represent an imminent threat of violence, even when the white person is chasing a black person on foot without any provocation) and not reasonable for black people to fear white people (even when they are being chased by one for no apparent reason). The police see Zimmerman's fear of Martin as reasonable, even though it plainly wasn't. And they don't see Martin's fear of Zimmerman as reasonable, even though it plainly was.

Then again, Florida's recent self-defense law was passed precisely for the purpose of making it easier to kill black people without having to be dragged through court. In this respect, at least, the police are doing their intended job.

That comment infuriates me more than anything else. I mean, why would she even say this?

I could be wrong, but I think the mother had already given a statement that he loved to eat chicken. So the reporter may have been trying to sympathize or show that she already knows things about her son.

Oh my God this makes me so fucking angry.

And the people at the press conference are fucking cracking jokes!?!?! IVUSBVWIBAQIQUOUUGHFGGGGHGHHGHGH
