If the Niners wiff on Peyton and lose Smith it'll be a complete disaster. By the way, I called Peyton to the Niners months ago. That team will be unstoppable with Peyton at the helm. I could seriously see them winning 2-3 chips over the next 4 years or so. If he's smart he'll go to San Fran and that terrible division. I have this feeling he might go to Tennessee, though. Denver would be a huge disappointment and just a dagger to Tebow. I don't want to see Peyton in Denver. Throw a bone to Tebow and give him a full off-season to improve, ffs.

I honestly don't think Manning is coming to Denver. People in the loop have shifted gears back to the draft and to debating over Tebow.
Unless he demands a trade I don't think Tebow is going anywhere this year. Which despite some rumors of just that, I don't think he will ask for a trade.
The way I look at it is, if Tebow is with Denver going into camp he's the starter. Elway said as much going into camp. While that doesn't mean much by itself, the bigger picture is that the fans aren't going to want to let an unproven rookie take the reins over Tebow, even if he looks better in camp. I think Fox and Elway know this and so they are limited in what they do right away.
Tebow will get a few games like Orton to either play himself into or out of the starting position, before they go to either a rookie or vet. If Tebow shows any improvement in the passing game he will remain the starter. Outside of injury, I think the only person stopping Tebow from remaining the starter is himself, or the off chance that Manning comes to town.
I maybe way off, but looking at things now that's what I believe will happen.
