I doubt Shockey did it for safety or moral reasons. I bet he did it because he was salty about something, haha. He seems to be a whiny dude.

If he did it though. Allegedly.

Gaf finally works.

I understand the Tebow move. Sparano gets a new toy to design things around, personally I think it could work.

On the other hand, if Sanchez leaves any doubt or gets lazy Tebow will overtake him.

I think Denver came out ahead, but I feel the Jets get a dynamic footballer player that could evolve into something special in the right system.

Good luck to Tebow and thanks for making this last year absolutely memorable. I know that I will miss him.

I have the perfect image for the JAllen Madden cover.

Did our pass rush even sniff the backfield during half of the games? I honestly can't recall.

Yeah, they did pretty well. They had a couple down games. Keep in mind that Fairley barely played (but when he did he played very well) and KVB was out for a while, too.

I'm in full support of the new overtime rules for the regular season.

Trade deadline also needs to be moved back for sure.

All of those actually seem like reasonable, necessary changes.

Naturally, none will be accepted.

Saints had a bounty on Cam huh? No surprise, those fucks deserve every bit of this punishment.

Oh and Drew Brees, you can go fuck yourself too. Enjoy that NFC South cellar son!

Of course the Broncos come out ahead. They got a 4th round pick for a guy they were going to cut.

Do keep in mind this is what the average 4th round looks like:
Stephen McGee
Donald Washington
Darell Scott
Kaluka Maiava
Henry Melton
Jonathan Luigs
Mike Thomas
Brian Hartline
T.J Lang
Victor Butler
Mike Goodson
Glover Quin
Vaughn Martin
David Bruton
Sammie Lee Hill
Chip Vaughn
Kyle Moore
Stanley Arnoux
D.J Moore
Brandon Williams
Shawn Nelson
Anthony Nelson
Rich Ohrnberger
Louis Murphy
Lawrence Sidbury
Slade Norris
Austin Collie
Tony Fiammetta
Andre Brown
Gerald McRath
Greg Toler
Seth Olsen

People are acting like the Jets just traded their first round pick for Tebow. They're getting value back for a pick that more likely will not provide much.

Also not buying Shockey as a snitch. The snitches are almost certainly former retired players or assistant coaches who've been spurned or fired by the organization in the past are way, way more. It's pretty irresponsible for Sapp to be spreading rumors like that unless hes somehow 100% sure.

Seriously, if you have enough people working tonight, tell me before I get there, idiots. Sometimes the sheer incompetence of people still amazes me, I know they're stupid but they have the special gift to 'out-idiot' themselves.

Plllrrfft, now I'm at home watching Up in the Air out of boredom.

Tebow a Jet yet?

Aints punishment doesn't go far enough!
Ban them from the NFL for a year, just give the division championship to the Bucs and be done with it.

One thing is certain in my mind, however. If anyone thinks this was a football decision, they're wrong. This was totally and unquestionably a Front Office Sales Department decision, from the top down... from Woody right on down the chain.

People have been abandoning the Upper Deck in droves and sales are tanking in all but the best seats up there. There are no PSLs to keep them locked in up there. And even the PSL seats are under extreme pressure... people wanting out but unable to do so.

What better way to boost dismally attrocious ticket sales following an 8-8 year in an overpriced, Preseason-mandated, difficult-to-traverse "state-of-the art" mausoleum that nobody wanted or needed and certainly shouldn't have been mandated to pay for?

I know! Bring in Tebow and hit the offseason headlines one more time! The phones are ringing off the hook! Brilliant!

HEY!!!!

Drew Brees is a great man! he just wants an explanation! didn't you hear him? sean payton is one of the greatest men to ever coach in this league and drew brees wants... nay, DESERVES... a full explanation from roger goddell.

Brees deserves this because he is such a great guy for the game of football. Remember when he held his son up at the superbowl? aww! Remember when he broke all those records in garbage time by running up the score? aww! Remember when he knew about the bounty system but didn't do shit about it even though he is a player union rep and should be looking out for the safety of his fellow players? aww! Remember when he was insulted that the Saints offered to pay him $19 million dollars a year to play QB? aww!

Im not concerned with who they will get with the picks. Without a trade Tebow was likely cut, so better to get something rather than nothing.

In the end you can say that the biggest loser was Denver in that they reached for a first rounder and only end up with a 4 and a 6.

Good luck with Tebow if he comes, I'll be rooting for him.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2012/03/21/tebow-trade-finalized/12725/

Denver Post said:
I wondered why the Broncos never announced their trade with the New York Jets.

The Broncos and Jets agreed to a trade that sent Denver quarterback Tim Tebow and a seventh-round draft pick to New York in exchange for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick.

The Jets even announced the trade on their twitter feed. And th-e-e-e-e-e-n someone in Jets’ management decided to look at Tebow’s contract. The Jets were apparently in too much rush to make a news splash for their New York tabloids. They didn’t look at Tebow’s contract until after agreeing to the deal.

Would you buy a home without an inspections?

The contract says any team acquiring Tebow has to kick back $5.06375 million to the Broncos in advanced salaries from the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons, according to an NFL source.

Tebow received $6,277,500 million as advances from salaries in 2011 ($1,213,750); 2012 ($1,425,000); 2013 ($1,691,250) and 2014 ($1.92 million). Broncos paid the 2011 advance (and got their money’s worth as Tebow led them from a 1-4 start under Kyle Orton to the playoffs). But as Tebow would be a Jet today with completion of trade, Jets would be assigned Tebow’s contract.

The Broncos paid the advance, but the 2012, 2013 and 2014 salaries still go to team that gets Tebow’s services.

The Broncos expect the Jets to pay them back those salary advances from 2012-14 per Tebow’s contract. The Jets are balking. There is a decent chance this deal may die.

The league used to be far dirtier than it is now.
Its not even a "dirty" league anymore.

Go ask somebody like Deacon jones what he thought about QBs.

Go ask some of Deacon Jones' peers if they can walk straight or remember what they had for dinner last night.

There is nothing wrong with trying to preserve quality of life. Everyone thinks Earl Campbell is a tough guy, but I doubt anyone wants to be him. Players and teams were just more ignorant about stuff back then. That shouldn't be commended.

Im not concerned with who they will get with the picks. Without a trade Tebow was likely cut, so better to get something rather than nothing.

Good luck with Tebow if he comes, I'll be rooting for him.

I will be rooting for Tebow too, but considering they only gave him 1.5 million last year and he got them a lot of money taking them to two playoff games, I hardly think Denver lost out financially.

It is so nice to know NY Jets finally has a winning starter.

I'm not sure if I want Tebow to be a Jet or not.

He could be great in the wildcat and he could really put pressure on Sanchez to improve.

On the other hand the Jets need to improve some other areas and the just signed Stanton.

I kinda like our division...

Let's just hope the Bills don't cripple Brady next season.

It'd be our luck. Brady goes down, Mallett proves to be an actual talented QB (and not just a product of a good system/VHS collection).

Pats go on to run the division for another 10 years.

Saints are getting a slap on the wrist. If he really wanted to put the Death Penalty on them, he'd force them to hire Raheem Morris for 3 seasons.

But you told me they didnt need RG3 because Bradford is the guy and Fisher was going to build around him.

Guess not.

If you can find a post where I didn't mention Bradford's contract, then you've got me. I've never said Bradford is the guy. My basic defense of Bradford is that he has all the physical tools needed, works hard, and has never been given enough tools for me to form a strong evaluation.

But as far as RG3? Was never going to happen. Too many holes. Bradford's contract was prohibitive to move this year. And RG3 would have just stepped in the same crap pile as Bradford and had his career potential killed before it had a chance.

But, can they use this year to draft offensive players who won't do anything in 2012 but will help in 2013? Can they cut Bradford after 2012? Do they have a crapload of picks to help the next QB step in to a great situation?

Not really a tinfoil hat guy, but if Elway will spend millions and millions to get rid of his Tebow problem, if Pioli will bug Haley, and if the Saints will run a bounty program, then nothing is off the table

like i said, the years mean nothing. he could've done this with the right coach years ago. he always had fucking knuckleheads coaching him. skelton has a knucklehead coaching him now. every nfl player has the potential to be great. these are world class athletes. but i just don't see it happening for skelton.

prove me wrong john you goofy fucking bitch!

john_skelton--300x300.jpg

You have no legitimate reason to assume Skelly won't make it. You obviously fear Skelton time! Only way he doesn't shut you up is if Kolb actually proves people wrong. We fired the QB coach btw, I feel good about McNulty.

lololol @ Saints punishment but it did just make the Niners season one game easier.

lololol @ Jets. Can't wait to see chemistry between Tebow, Rex, and Sanchez

lololol @ Little Hands acting like he'd compete in camp with Peyton.

2. Modifying the horse-collar tackle rule to remove the exception for quarterbacks in the pocket, so that a quarterback in the pocket may not be yanked down by the back of his shoulder pads or inside collar of his jersey.

PFT

Not sure how I feel about this one.
