Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

I wonder how the reviews will be :)

Last time only complain was , hard beggining (no tutorial) and short act 3 where they addes several hours to that..

I think the main criteria is that it should be called CE, not DE. Well, at least it is how I understand it.

Nah, that's just another way of naming it CE. Spore had Galactic Edition, ME3 had Space Edition.

Fixed.

ign review:

- graphics are too detailed and distract me,
- its hard to tell what I do is good or bad. should be colour-coded,
- they didn't pay us enough money.

7.6/10.

- obviiously something created by less than 700 people should't be considered a AAA game.

I'm still bitter over the hard beginning complaints because it was nerfed. People on here complained about it too, this wasn't just the media. I died a few times at first because I was learning the controls but it made me learn from my mistakes. Now I just breeze through it.

I can't wait to buy this game, looks incredible. I thought mass effect 3 was amazing all in all, but was indeed disappointed by the ending, is the end game for this game satisfying? I heard they actually went back and improved it further.

Well, they're saying "extended outro" so who knows what they have changed. Most of the complains I have heard are not about the ending itself, but that the third act is short and feels a little rushed when compared to the others. While this is true, I think is a little unfair because there's a lot of content before that, and actually Act 2 is completely different depending on a choice you make. In any case, I think CDR is adding content to Act 3.

lol.

Don't forget the:
- No character creation, your stuck with old man Geralt.

At least a couple reviews will mention this as a con and I'll smh at them.

I probably missed this while flipping through the thread, but anything said about adding the content in EE to the PC version?

I haven't played it in ages so I don't know how hard they nerfed it, but it seems to me most of the "It's too hard" complaints were rooted in the laggy, shitty controls and dumb, unresponsiveness combat design, both of which deserve all the complaints they got.

I said it in the OT, but The Witcher 2's combat was like Demon's/Dark Souls done wrong.

- no Jessica Chobot in this game
- it doesn't have guns
- it has boobies, and boobies are dangerous for Americans
- no option of gay romance with Iorweth
- Story DLC added into the game, lol it shipped incomplete
- no multiplayer
- etc

0.0/10.

Fixed.

Only hard thing about the beginning was that
god damn dragon
. Died at least 10 times. Combat? Sure, it was tough but once you got the hang of it you felt like a damn badass.

Didn't they fix that and make combat feel more responsive?

Edit #2: Also, Team Iorveth, dudes!
I'm also wondering whether CDPRed has made any statements about engine optimizations? I'd like it if it ran a TEENSY WEENSY bit better on my C2D.

I had a big problem with the random unresponsiveness but this was because there was very little tutorial and because you could die in a couple of hits, sometimes 1 hit if it was from behind. Those combined frustrated a lot of people since they were still getting used to playing it.

Was the controls one of the things they are fixing?

What if IGN just cuts and pasts their PC review? http://pc.ign.com/articles/116/1168535p1.html

That what they will do and have about a 1/4 of the review dedicated to how it does not look as good as the PC version etc.

I would hope that reviewers wont do that because we are talking about a cutting edge game that was designed for the memory/gpu/cpu of a up to date computer versus a console that is going on 7 years old.

Based on video's of the 360 version, they used some black magic or something to make it look as good as it does.

Ahh, and ok got ya. Thanks for the info.

I think trailers released are not 360 footage. EE comes to PC as well so they most certainly use PC gameplay.

Oh man that elements trailer was good. I'm going to beat the shit out of this game for a third time.

Actually a lot of people in my twitter feed didn't know which sword to use, how blocking/stamina works etc.

They fixed most of the problems in the 2.0 patch I think. I know after that I haven't had any unresponsive problems anymore. Every button I hit in combat registers perfectly now.

yeah 2.0 did a lot for the combat, and EE is going to further refine it.

I never played it prepatch but combat felt responsive when I played it for the first time a couple months ago. I wish I would have played it before the patch so I could have felt the difference. As it was, combat was fast and fun. It's not super deliberate and punishing like Dark Souls but I think it does the job and it definitely didn't feel broken in any way. The difficulty spikes that people complained about at launch must have been smoothed out because I never ran into any frustratingly difficult sections and rarely died on normal.

I can't wait till my console buds can finally enjoy this game. A phenomenal game that doesn't treat you as a child. I would buy the Dark Edition for the xbox if I could find it. Sadly I can't. So I'll just play the extra content on the PC for FREE! I can't wait to see a comparison of the 2 games. CDPR has been doing a lot of bragging saying it will be one of the best looking games on the XBOX. I hope it's comparable, which I think it will be as the art direction is/was fucking great.

Sweet. i was going to do another play though, but now I will wait for this.

I probably missed it, but are they giving the EE content free to those that bought the game for the PC?

Thanks.

It's things like that that make CD Projekt a developer who's games i will keep buying day 1.

Yup. 100% agreed. I've purchased TW2 on six different occasions, to give out to friends/family. They're a developer that deserves to be supported.

gonna double dip on this one, I bought witcher 2 on a steam sale for $30 but it's sat in my backlog ever since. been too busy plus my gaming mouse has seen better days and it gets frustrating to play with...plus my xbox could probably run the game better than my laptop anyway. plus xbox achievements.

Man, I'm really going to need to hurry up and get the Dark Edition from somewhere other than Amazon aren't I? Other places are supposedly selling out, and I swear it never actually went up there.
