As a Bills fan, this is thrilling.
You're still the Bills. Sorry bro.

Wow, it's really crazy to think that Tebow really did have so many clutch performances, a playoff upset, but he will now just go back to be a role player. The entire sports universe asked Tebow to prove it, and he did a good job - but then the universe just said, ":jnc we don't care."
You are right. If they play him at fullback then I support the decision as he will be on the field enough to warrant the steep price.
only the jets could get a trade intercepted.
This looks like the Jets front office...

Soooo... Sanchez to Cleveland?
2012: $1.942.5 million (fully guaranteed)
2013: $2.266.75 million (fully guaranteed)
2014: $2.590.5 million ($567,500 guaranteed)
Those are his salaries. The only way he even gets close to this magical 16 million number you're pulling out of your god damn ass if he's the starting QB and the Jets make the playoffs every year for the next 3 seasons.
And then he'd be worth it.
It was a LaConfora tweet. 6.1 in 2013, 7.1 in 2014.
Also, while his salary this year is only $2m, they are splitting the $5m owed the Broncos. So effectively his is costing the Jets $4.5 million this year.

"Earlier this week I asked Gene Smith and his staff to explore the potential of acquiring Tim Tebow. I think we have a duty to consider all avenues of improving the Jaguars on and off the field, especially given the unique circumstances involving the player. I appreciate the high level of due diligence Gene and his staff dedicated to this matter even as late as this evening, and I am very satisfied with the outcome. Our commitment to developing Blaine Gabbert was, and still is, central to our goal of returning the Jaguars to elite status in the NFL. We are looking ahead with zero regrets." #Jaguars
He isn't a bad GM.
Darkside quickly turning EBA/Dirtbag/Jdez heel. I was all excited for a future Schottenheimer less future and the Jets had to pull this fucking move. Worse than the Favre year.
I'm actually a bit bummed.
At least Tebow had heart on the field, unlike Pussy Gabbert. I wish we had Garrard back.:/
Its all part of the process.
He isn't a bad GM.
ESPN loves Tebow so much its pretty sickening that an average at best player can get this type of attention.
Obviously not the Jets organization. Which makes it even more dumbfounding that they'd bother to give him an extension at all regardless of money.darkside31337 said:And really who gives a shit about Mark Sanchez.

Sanchez "extension" gives no new money in 2012; $2.75M bump in 2013. Now making $8.25M guaranteed next year, nothing guaranteed after.
This is the HUGE money everybody is talking about with Sanchez.
They haven't committed anything to Sanchez.

PFT said the he might already be gone wont be around after draftIf the Jags dont make the playoffs,Gene Smith is gone.
It was nothing more than an apology for going after Peyton...only to turnaround and trade for Tebow. Money or no money - it's fucking nonsensical. It reeks of an organization that doesn't have an clear direction in mind. You're about to pay (correction) 2.5 million dollars and draft picks for what you yourself call a situational goal line back and/or third string QB /at best/.darkside31337 said:This is the extension everyone is griping about.
Probably all the negativity towards Tebow comes from guys who barely ever watch football. Notice Denver casual fans like what he did. Basically, the people that know nothing else like him, if you take Manning out of the picture. Complain when the season starts and you actually see what he does as the Jets starter.
He beat the Jets and they saw glory in the hands of another team, they seek to copy said team. Easy.

Not to mention two draft picks from a team that can't rush the QB, sucks at run blocking and needs help pass blocking. Oh yeah, and have a stoned, grossly overpaid WR that wants more passes. Other than that, it's an awesome move.
We're totally going to look so foolish once the season starts. That is totally what is going to happen.
I'm curious to see the press conference. I'm still not sure what to think yet.

Indeed. Just some minor corrections to reflect the actual world in which we live and not your fantasy plane of existence.
It's an obvious PR move by jets. They love that stuff, from hard knocks to Ryan always saying stuff to grab the headlines.
how can this not cause a schism? how will this not destroy the locker room? it's not like sanchez can leave, dude just got paid!
no matter how talented the jets are on paper, i'm fairly confident this will go terribly wrong and they'll miss the playoffs next season.
and between Kerley, McKnight, Tebow, and LT.. Sparano is gonna go cat crazy!!!
