I will be shocked if he doesn't get a chance to start at some point for the Jets. He will work his way in there and overtake Sanchez eventually. it may only be temporary, but it will probably happen.

2013: $2.266.75 million (fully guaranteed)
2014: $2.590.5 million ($567,500 guaranteed)

Those are his salaries. The only way he even gets close to this magical 16 million number you're pulling out of your god damn ass if he's the starting QB and the Jets make the playoffs every year for the next 3 seasons.

And then he'd be worth it.

It was a LaConfora tweet. 6.1 in 2013, 7.1 in 2014.

Also, while his salary this year is only $2m, they are splitting the $5m owed the Broncos. So effectively his is costing the Jets $4.5 million this year.
 
Darkside quickly turning EBA/Dirtbag/Jdez heel. I was all excited for a future Schottenheimer less future and the Jets had to pull this fucking move. Worse than the Favre year.

This is the HUGE money everybody is talking about with Sanchez.

They haven't committed anything to Sanchez.

Give the kid some slack. He had plenty of reasons to suck it up. Short off season, young QB, lackluster receivers, lame duck coach, WR coach as his QB coach, ownership change etc. the odds were stacked against him. Now if he sucks this season then we can be worried. If he sucks 3rd season then they should start looking for another solution.

Probably all the negativity towards Tebow comes from guys who did not see every Broncos game. Notice Denver fans like what he did. Basically, the people that know him the best like him, if you take Manning out of the picture. Complain when the season starts and you actually see what he does as the Jets starter.

So they have nearly 30 million dollars locked up in Sanchez and Tebow (8.25+4.5 in 2012, $11m + $6.1 m in 2013).

Yeah, chump change for that kind of stellar talent!

This is the extension everyone is griping about. It was a load of garbage to try to make it look like the Jets are "committed" to Sanchez.

It was nothing more than an apology for going after Peyton...only to turnaround and trade for Tebow. Money or no money - it's fucking nonsensical. It reeks of an organization that doesn't have an clear direction in mind. You're about to pay (correction) 2.5 million dollars and draft picks for what you yourself call a situational goal line back and/or third string QB /at best/.

Not to mention two draft picks from a team that can't rush the QB, sucks at run blocking and needs help pass blocking. Oh yeah, and have a stoned, grossly overpaid WR that wants more passes. Other than that, it's an awesome move.

This is going to be the trade that makes or more probably breaks the Rex Ryan era. How are they going to control the media firestorm that's about to erupt? It's going to be ridiculous. Maybe Timmah will teach Cro abstinence and this is all part of God's plan.
