Lightning becomes sort of cheap if all of a sudden everyone is doing it. Elite fire benders with a lot of experience like Ozai, Iroh, and Azula (prodigy) were able to do it. Remember that Aang and Zuko could only redirect it and I'm pretty sure Korra probably could as well.

Tenzin, to me, represents an almost diametrically opposite character to his father (at least, from what we know), and Tenzin is slowly realizing it as he's teaching Korra. I think there's something really endearing about an older person learning to loosen up and see things from a different perspective. He's already established himself as someone who is willing to change when he finds himself at fault.

That alone makes him incredibly likable.

I really cant see a character of her background - a daughter of a wealthy business man - having that type of character.

I could see her Dad doing that since he started with nothing and his business model seems to be based on providing tech for non-benders. not selling them out, but just building that sort of tech to combat benders and provide them to anyone who can pay for it

You can kill someone just as easily with fire/earth/water. Water is incredibly dense.

Yeah, just coming to the realization it is not a fight. You can't use creative bending or really powerful bending, its just "push 'em back" bending.

Justed watched the first 2 Korra eps in 720p. Glorious! Amazing 2 episodes, ties in with the original, you could feel its the same universe and you need to watch the first to understand really. The animation here is so amazing its insane.

I agree with you, except for the part about the pro-bending. I don't think Amon particularly cares that non-benders aren't allowed there, it is pro-BENDING after all. But yes, it shows the discepancies in the society, where a sport about bending is more popular than anything else.

I would have agreed with this if it wasn't the fact she is supposedly a huge fan of pro bending so now i can't really see that tbh.

I really cant see a character of her background - a daughter of a wealthy business man - having that type of character.

Her family might play a part since they could create tech for such a purpose, but i'm not seeing a direct involvement yet from the family yet. Maybe its some splinter group?

Benders have the power and are probably thus more represented in higher parts of society.

I've mentioned this several times before, but they already explained in one of the panels that the ruling council is comprised of an Airbender (Tenzin), a Waterbender, a Firebender, and an Earthbender. It's the central conflict in the series, I don't see how this could have been an afterthought.
