I also wish she would work with more of a variety of producers, one of the reasons I'm much more optimistic with Azealia Banks. Working on songs with Machinedrum is awesome, and seeing the Azealia/Diplo song this morning gives me even more hope for her career.

I just put Azealia Banks Diplo in youtube... omg

And 2 Chainz is some all star?

Yeah, I've heard of Big Sean but not 2 Chainz, Cam'ron or Bobby V.

2 Chainz is worth talking about now? WTF? That one song I heard of his...he literally sounded like a baboon. It wasn't even legible. How is he even relevant?

I'll check it out when it releases. I wish she would cut the 5 weakest tracks or something; she doesn't need 19.

EDIT: That Azealia/Diplo track is HOOOOOOOOOT SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.

EDIT: We shippin' platinum, dem bitches shippin' wood.

so how awesome does Pound The Alarm sound
future club banger right there

Wait, so this is a new album?

This whole time I've been thinking it's just a re-release of Pink Friday with a new track or two. Damn deceptive album title!

Yes this is a complete new album, she just might be using Pink Friday as some sort of brand

So I kind of like what I'm hearing, as far as stupid/great dance tracks go.

I figure it'll be one of those albums where I would end up buying a single or two anyway.

But let's be honest.

I'm doing this just because I loved "Monster".

She gives me a boner and I think Nas was pretty dope on Champion....that's about all I can say about this shite.

for the record I thought she used to be aiight a little while back when she was at least trying.

Not a fan of her "idiotic insanity for the sake of idiotic insanity" songs like stupid ho and some other examples on the album. But I can't deny a song like Pound the Alarm sounds awesome and would make me shake on the dancefloor.

I'll be quite content if she abandons rapping entirely for a dance-pop career. Second half of the album decimates anything unfortunate enough to be caught in its gleefully vapid swath of bass and candy-coating.

the rap hip-hop portion of the album is piss poor, the pop portion is generic trash you hear on the radio all the time. So the pop>>hip-hop on this album.

and to think we all thought her verse on "Monster" was a preview of her rap career, lol

I don't know, if I turn on top 40 radio it's still basically in hope that I will hear Nicki Minaj rap("Well, this song's not that great, but Nicki has a guest spot so I guess I'll listen to it again"). She's a doofus, but that wasn't any less true on Monster.

EDIT: I'm on a diet but my pockets eatin cheesecake.

Rap portion is solid for me. She loses me on the second half of the album with the barbie-girl/pop songs.

I'm not a big Hip Hop/Rap fan, but I really enjoy good beats, catchy one-liners, and a good flow. I really like a few of the songs on this album.

For me, if an album has 5 or 6 really good songs on it, its a home run for me. I have low expectations going into all Hip Hop/Rap/Pop albums.

1. 9/10
2. 5/10
3. 8/10
4. 6/10

15. 4/10

17. 5/10
18. 7/10
19 9/10

This album is irredeemable.

So much trash, with a few songs being generic at best. I am shocked there isn't a single song that rose above basic.

Superbass and her Monster verse were flukes.

can someone with GAF-hop cred tell me if this is as awful as her debut album was, cause my curiosity's not yet enough to warrant rubbernecking

I don't like it either. The first half is bottom-of-the-barrel rap and the second half is bottom-of-the-barrel pop.

I'm sure it will light the charts on fire with that combination.

This makes her debut album sound like Illmatic hip hop wise.

But for the clubs and radio stations....this will play like crazy.

Well this album is certainly going to have many radio hits.

I really like hip-hop Nicki and I hope she releases a full hip-hop album in the future. I actually don't mind the accents anymore surprisingly, sometimes I find it just works with her psychotic personality. Roman Holiday bothered me at first, but I find the chorus kinda cool in a humorous way. Kept the first six songs, deleted most of the rest. Favorite song from the second half is Whip It, like how glitchy it is. At least she seperated the songs this time, hopefully she can just release double albums in the future, one cd with hip hop and the other with pop. That would be sweet!

Lots of females releasing stuff this year at least, even if alternative ... this should be the best year we've had in a while... personally looking forward to Missy Elliott, M.I.A., Rye Rye and Azealia Banks this year. I expect lots of top notch producers working with them at the least!

So. I'm kind of loving this album.

Like, I thought there might have been one or two tracks that were going to be played on the radio, so I bought it, but... It's kind of awesome.

Too many highlights (of "good" or better quality) to count.

Champion, Right By My Side, Pound the Alarm, Gun Shot. So good.

"Pound the Alarm". Oh my goddddddddd. O_____O

That and "Whip It" have been on repeat for the past day or so. Props to mah grrl!

I've listened to only a handful of songs so far but I will say that Roman Holiday is fucking flawless. It's pretty much everything I love about Nicki Minaj bundled up in a four minute package.

Unfortunately there are plenty of tracks that remind me of everything I hate about Nicki Minaj. Especially the slow R&B raps and the dance-pop songs with the terribly empty lyrics. Though I do love Starships. And the dance break in Pound the Alarm is great too. Lol

This album is so good. Haters gonna hate. There are some speed bumps but for the most part I've had a ton a fun with this. Roman Holiday studio version sounds a--mazing. Love Nicki <3
