Well, been hunting for the past couple months and done a few string of internships, so I'm a bit better off than some peers, but yeah, I'm going to need a lottttt of luck after I graduate ha.

for the record imho, (pear) ciders are godlike in the summer sun, followed by regular cider on par with beers. Fancy a Gaymers right now tbh.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Tesco culture (I'm an expert), but honor and low prices are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by large corporate monopolies. If you screw someone over in the UK, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is price comparison wars.

What this means is the UK public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase sushi from Tesco, nor will they purchase anything from Tesco Express. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Tesco has alienated an entire market with this move.

Tesco, publicly apologize and cancel your sushi rollout or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Can we keep all this creepy Japanese-obsessed / anime shit out of this thread? It's bad enough that there's a "big ass superior thread of learning Japanese" (yeah, you're so superior because you can read the manga collection which fills your basement bedroom in its native language, and understand what the schoolgirls in JAV are saying while they get tentacle-raped), but now we need to have words such as 'waifu' in here too?

At the risk of sounding like all I do is moan, it's definitely bad if not used ironically, which a surprising number of people do! I actually still think it's better than saying 'banter' after a bit of banter is worse than saying 'bants' though.

It's a gaming community. On the internet. The anime overlap is huge. It's going to spill into this thread from time to time and that's perfectly fine. It will never be the focal point of this thread, but we have a really nice "talk about whatever so long as every tenth post is about the UK" vibe going here and I'd like to keep it.

As for the "superior" thread for learning Japanese - "superior" describes the thread itself, as in "this thread is the superior thread for the purposes of learning Japanese", not "if you read the manga in Japanese and write a fan-letter to the manga-ka using proper kanji you are superior".

Your almost violent reaction about us having a joke about hentai, as spawned by a discussion on a British restaurant chain and Meadow's non-white girlfriend, just seem really insecure or something I dunno.

Turns round and spits on the ground and yells watchoo want. I think he's talking to me, but it turns out there are two gigantic slabs of policeman, cords hanging from ears, behind me. He says they are cunts and that it is harassment. They tell him he's a toerag. He mockingly invites them to follow him some more. They say they don't have to, cos they have cameras everywhere. He has no comeback.

Was brief street theatre.

Violent definitely seems an unfair word to use, and I certainly hope that it was clear that my post was at least partly light-hearted (sarcastic stereotypes, mock outrage, etc.) I'm not claiming I wasn't partly serious (I was, and I do find some elements of the whole culture a little disturbing) but I don't think my reaction was violent, and I'm certainly not insecure.

Anyway, it seems that I've derailed this thread, so I apologise!
 
I swear I don't know why I never used to like Ginger Beer. Absolutely hated the stuff until about two years ago, then suddenly it clicked.

I loved dexter as a kid. My cartoon hating is a little invalid because I enjoy the Simpson (up season 8) and south park.

Don't compare me to an idiot guys. I lead a safety first mind set at work, ain't had more than a paper cut in my entire janitor career. I take my work very seriously and enjoy making my stack of 20 quid notes every 14 days.
