Tower Bridge back in stock at TRU online.

I almost pulled the trigger on two, but to have someone from the states ship it to me (plus the taxes and duties I'd be charged) just wouldn't be economical =/

Since Shaun of the Dead is a comedy, and you present your work in a humorous fashion, we believe this is within the realm of the LEGO company brand standards on violence. Note that the zombie theme does put this project at the edge of what we produce, however we recognize that the LEGO Group produces other products where themese of violence and death play a significant role.

Please understand that this initial green light does not have an effect on the LEGO Review that will take place if the project reaches 10,000 supporters. The nature of the work would require some significant internal discussion before we make the decision to produce such a set.

I think I'll be OK if it doesn't get approved, BUT if it doesn't they should release the parts list and instructions. The lack of Shaun of the Dead Mini-figs would be the only negative. :\

Maybe just don't OFFICIALLY call it a "Shaun of the Dead" set. Maybe "Restaurant Monster Attack!" or something.

The Supercar was a test of faith. There were so many cogs, clutches and other gizmos that didn't seem to be connected to anything for a long, long time. Connecting the power and testing all the moving parts was a real "oh wow, it works" moment. I'll definitely have to get more Technic sets.

In other news, I finished the mini modulars. They look really nice and are small enough to put on display somewhere even in my cramped apartment.

I think the window for using bricklink to buy parts for the the UCS falcon is closing fast. It's already hard to find some of the parts in the quantity and color required, and lego discontinued some of them as well. You can color substitute some of the internal pieces, but even some of those pieces are getting more expensive, probably due to demand. I already think the effort and time investment required to do it would push me to just buying a sealed set if I were to do it again.

Lego has to be aware of the crazy demand for the set, and I imagine that it will be one of the first ones redone or redesigned since they extended the license. Maybe they do a few more character things like the R2D2 and do a redesigned UCS X wing first, but the millennium falcon is the most recognizable ships of the franchise and maybe the entire sci fi genre, no way they go 10 years without doing it again.

Agree. UCS x-wing is over ten years old now and could do with updating, falcon I'd like an update on, and also the UCS star destroyer, not using magnets to hold it together (eg copy the venator which works well imo)

I'd buy all three UCS in a heartbeat

Also did that myself last week, now looking at modding it for power. It's a great build and such a good size when complete.

I hope you are right. But the fact that LEGO never re-released a UCS set doesn't give me much hope.

The video is 24fps, but I am thinking of slowing it down to 15fps just to see more detail. I used Frameographer for iOS, which was a really nice program and simple to use. I shot at one frame every 5 seconds for this one, until the end when the shuttle is on the stand, it was 1 frame every single second.

Wow talk about super fast shipping. I ordered the Xmen kit yesterday from Walmart and it is on the truck for delivery today. Shipping was only 99 cents too

Bricklink is dangerous...

I really want to get a Indiana Jones set and there are so many listed. Even the cheapest I want (Motorcycle Chase) is worth a decent amount considering it's original msrp

Awesome video, great use of time lapse. I like seeing everyones process, your small cup method looks like the most time efficient for a large build like that.

I've been watching a lot of Lego videos with my son lately. The Adventures of Max are pretty neat, and very kid friendly. I'm thinking of making my own super cheap Lego videos. Either shot with my flip cam or just DSLR stills like a motion comic. I don't think I have the patience for stop-motion. Has anyone done something like this?
 
My new Lego obsession is the collectable minifigures. Here is what I have found from Series 6 so far, all haning out at my work desk:

Still need the Statue of Liberty, which has been surprisingly hard to find so far.

Very excited for Series 7 though.
 
If you're feeling thru the bag, try and find one where you can feel that large brick that makes up Liberty's legs or the salsa dancer lady.

I'm pretty good at feeling the bags (only one mistake, duplicate alien) but all the sloped pieces I have found are the dancer (confirmed with the fan). Just can't seem to find a location that has any Libertys left. Still have to check the Beachwood Lego store.
 
Few days ago someone was mentioning getting an obiwon figure for their ucs starfighter, and were bidding. I have no clue how much but if its over $10 don't. There is a LEGO 3DS acessory pack that comes with a stylus, game cases and a minfig. There are a few variations, but one has a clone wars Obiwon. Saw it at Target.

It was me, and I lost that bid. Unfortuantely, I hate the Clone Wars faces/hair with a passion. I need the Ep. 3 Obi Wan with hair (instead of hood):

Thanks for the heads up though! I couldn't find any good lots on ebay for it though. There's one on Amazon for $13 plus $5 shipping but that's kind of expensive...
 
Was in Bristol for work today, popped into the Lego store in Cardiff and picked these up

Lighthouse, mag and pick-a-brick were basically free using my VIP points, nearly made it out alive but spotted the cool cruiser. First, the F1 version caught my eye, and then they had the cruiser built up and it looked great - about VW camper size and lots of curves.

Two lots of 3-in-1 sets will give me and the kids plenty to play with over the weekend.

Wonder if pick a brick tubs are deliberately awkwardly shaped? And tiles are a mare to pile up, nothing to stick together. Bought mostly 4x1 brown tiles which will make nice floorboards, and a couple of white horses with movable heads
 
I will buy all the Marvel Figs! All of them! Oh god LotR is coming, too!
 
Bought five minifigures today on the way home. Finally got a London Guard. Pretty sure it was the last packet I picked and I basically guessed at best it was one I didn't have.

Three of them I guessed correctly. Realised after I opened Lady Liberty that the slope part that I used to guess her isn't unique. I could have very well picked up the glamourous lady with the fan. Lucky!

The toy shop was still selling series 4 as well! Might go back and buy a few more to try and get the ones I fancy.

If anyone wants older ones I have a local store that I think is still selling all series. Never started collecting them, figured it'd be a slippery slope best not headed down

Oh it is, it really is! I love the line, but I wish there was a little more time between each series release. Maybe 6 months instead of 4.

I just wish you could actually buy the ones you want instead of the grab-bag model. They're not that cheap, especially if you end up buying 6 or 7 just to get one.
 
When I was walking towards the checkout I noticed Playmobile had started their own range on collectable figures. Shameful.
