They have good music though.

Anyway, the Anime thread is already discussing Korra no Denetsu or whatever so leave them be I guess

I give Katara a lot of credit, the season finale when she decided to become the Iceman was brilliant. Aang Ozai battle was the most flashy but she had the best move out of anyone.

Katara was the one who trained Korra in waterbending right? So she got to train two Avatars.

The animation in this franchise is really fantastic. It almost looks like cel animation.

is the promise the only comic series that takes place after the first series? or are there any others? were there ever an official avatar artbook?

i got a B&N gift card so i thought i may as well spend it on avatar since i cant think of anything else to buy

Yup and i need to get it as well (i might just wait until the next part is out then get both).

Physics in Avatar are so fucked. We have people leaping impossibly far distances without any aid from bending. Unless everyone in the series has really really strong legs.

The episode where Aang escapes from the ship, and Juko jumps after him. He flew like 30 feet or something just by jumping.

Fire bender boost like a rocket. Airbender is self explainable. Earthbenders can get a lift off. I have nothing for waterbenders.

Nonbenders can squat 1000lbs.

If they can levitate a giant wave of water surely they can float someone on top of it.

Also kung fu is part of basic P.E. in Avatar-verse, probably.

Oh and I just saw The Blind Bandit on my TLA rewatch-aton. Probably one of my favourite episodes. It was a perfect introduction for Toph and has so many great charaters because of the wrestling setting.

But the best thing? The animation during the Toph bending scenes especially when she goes 1 on 6 in the end. So awesome and badass.

"The Boulder puts the hurt in the dirt!"

You did watch the finale, didn't you?

It's why I said it.

Toph should probably be able to sense vibrations through the air like she does vibrations through the ground. They both transfer energy mechanically. Just gotta train the rest of her skin to be as receptive as the soles of her feet, then she will truly be the greatest.

Technically, they're all bending energy.

In fact that's the only thing they're bending, it just comes down to what type and where.

The funny thing is that Toph probably couldn't even beat an average air nomad child. Airscooter = she can't possibly see you.

Could they attack like that though? It certainly would be an interesting fight. But her first episode gave of the impression that if you touch the ground, Toph can and will get you.

There is always bullshit you can come up with to counter this however. I really wish people wouldn't take bending fights 100% seriously since a 12 year old can easily beat an adult, the lol animation cliches of nearly unlimited stamina and power that shifts throughout the series and the simple fact you never know what is going through a person's head during the fight.

As long as the fights are entertaining then I could care less about these oversights.

I don't care much either. I just find it funny.

I don't know if they can attack while maintaining the air scooter.

It's amazing the amount of random characters that were visually based on the South Korean animation team or people they otherwise knew

Did they ever mention that random Ryu character that appeared in the episode where Zuko tries to find Katara by her necklace scent?

Sorry, nope :<

One of the best things in it is the elaborations on caligraphy, especially as in what the posters mean.

"THE BOY IN THE ICEBERG - A new production from acclaimed Earth Kingdom playwright Pu-on Tim, who scoured the globe gathering information on the Avatar, from the icy South Pole to the heart of the Earth Kingdom capital. His sources include singing nomads, pirates, prisoners of war, and a surprisingly knowledgable merchant of cabbage! Brought to you by the Ember Island Players"

Watching the sozin's comet part 2 now

Avatar Lost island > Lost island.
If the island was a giant turtle the finale of Lost would have been better

Edit Part 3: jesus, this is how u do fighting animation. Jaw drop

LOL

Just finished air bender. Sniff that was great. I was skeptical about this show when I first saw it, but it really opened my eyes. America can make a great Anime like show.
don't wanna watch Korra yet I want relish air bender.

Netflix is now recommeding me to watch the Live Action movie

I know you probably already know not to watch it, but please for the love of god don't watch it. No one deserves that fate.
