As it's posted everywhere now, yes, Keev and me are leaving eLive. We don't have same vision of what is a player, sponsor etc at all.

Neat. Will tune in. I assume they'll be playing the patched version since it's an official tourney?

Here's a bit more on the Kayane/Keev situation.

Several hours ago, MK, the CEO and co-founder of eLive Entertainment, posted this cast on ways that eLive has erred and staying true to the eLive vision and its users (English part first, French at 4:26):

eLivePro: what's happening - MK

Here's what Kayane had to say in the comments below (huge, huge thanks to Valaris for the translation):

Kayane said:
I hope you're not including me in the list of players who don't want to use eLive and only want to play without an interest in fans because I don't think that's the case for me at all.

Since my arrival at eLive I've had 10 casts and gathered quite a number of views. Granted with the release of SCV my activities as far as blogging have gone down but it's mostly due to my passion in the game combined with tournaments and my student life. I still answered the call whenever I was needed for WCG and the cast for women's place in gaming.

I've been busy with Kayane Sessions, interviews and SC community events where I always repped eLive. As you can see I always include the logo in my streams.

I therefore consider myself having contributed as much as I can to eLive and its fanbase so I don't agree with your statement that I failed at properly repping my sponsors. I did everything I could to the best of my abilities while with eLive.

I also don't agree with you that because MLG has money, I have to wait for an all expense paid invitation just to go to their tournament. They've stated before it's not their practices. Your role as a sponsor shouldn't be to wait until your players get their trips paid by the tournament organizers.

As far as your visions of amateurs go since according to you, Keev and I displayed to the world that we were imply amateurs, not ready to hang with the big boys is completely ridiculous. just because we wanted to go you think we "lowered ourselves" to that level?

We don't care about pride, we don't care about being invited. Hell, who are we to be invited anyway?

We want to play. We want to rep France. To show France can hang with the best. So yes, we went by ourselves. And if that makes us amateurs, then so be it because I prefer going there and playing rather than waiting for an invitation that's not going to come and missing an awesome experience.

We obviously don't share the same vision of playing and sponsors so this is where we part ways but I wish you to find players "prestigious" enough for you. Good luck.

MK's response (Google Translate):
MK said:
It is unbelievable how you want everything to you in the end. I give an overview, but no, we need to talk to you.

Ok, so here we go.

So you've done 10 and casts? It's so much? I should point out that it was you who sent me an email to request from. Besides, technically you're still under contract at a time when we speak. I did not force from my knowledge and I've always been frank with you, right?

Is it that you get out the argument "oh, Jap players do nothing and they go everywhere"? Yes, we made a mistake with these players there and no, we do not make the same mistake.

You always talked about events in your eLive, and yes? That's why we sponsor you base right? Where is the problem there? By cons, if you'll cry on your twitter instead send me an email before to try to talk calmly, yes, there is a problem for us.

For your vision is simple: you see what future for your passion? I'd like to see happen in the FG of professional sports. For this, I have argued: 1) help players and create a relationship with their fans 2) assist small structures and the organizers 3) establish a real business model.

So yes, MLG, compared to what it is and what it claims to be, should pay just like FIFA spends money to invite teams, like the NBA is spending money to invite teams etc..

Yes, to change things, it is not enough just to play.

The whole sponsorship world is incredibly facinating. These smaller groups like DMG, Elive ect are barely sponsors at all.

Not sure what word to use, but eSports' financial side has never made sense to me. I don't even know how arcades like Local Battles could possibly scrounge up the money to fly someone out to tournaments.

Still doesn't make sense.

Sponsor doesn't exactly mean pay for your flight, rooming, and other expenses. Every contract is different and the truth is we don't have any clue about xxx player and their specific contract. A player like Justin might have a salary on top of getting flown across the country. Another player like for example a AG, or TFA member might just get free sticks or a copy of a game.

Both are sponsor, but clearly not on the same level.

twitter is a dangerous thing... so is the word 'sponsorship' !

I talked to Kayane for hours during MLG. It was good to catch up with her since I hadn't seen her since last year's EVO.

I understood her frustration and her popoffs. It must have been really frustrating with all of the lack of responses/unanswered calls from eLive when she was trying to get information about MLG. She was willing to book her flight in advance but since eLive didn't respond to her in a timely manner, it ended up costing her a LOT more.

So she popped off on twitter. I just had to respond...

EG definitely gives their players a salary. Not 100% on if they provide flight and room accommodations.

I've been fiddling around with this game for a couple of months, but after experiencing the hype first-hand at NCR I'm sitting down seriously with it.
