That's "getting off," though. We know he's not going to be charged with murder even if he DID do it. He could've flat out executed the kid in cold blood and his family contacts would STILL be used to bail him out.

Expect something like "accidental manslaughter" and no prison time. Or, at least, minimum security prison time, which may as well be a paid hotel stay.

Thanks. I'll sleep better tonight. Like I've been saying, there's just no way Trayvon would initiate a physical confrontation with someone who was "on his way back to his truck." Trayvon was almost home when Zimmerman caught up with him. Why would he just stop walking home, turn around, and follow/engage someone who was following him when he was already on the path back to his father's house? It just doesn't make sense.

The only way I could see it making any lick of sense is if the 911 tapes are to be believed and he left his car to chase him down and caught up with him. At that point you have nowhere to run from a guy you clearly feel threatened by so what else can you do? But considering his gf said they talked, zimmerman must have done something to initiate some kind of altercation.
 
I honestly don't think Zimmerman sought to kill him initially. He probably tried to play tough guy and flash a gun in the kid's face and then panicked when the kid fought back. Still, the guy seems like a real psycho and killed an unarmed child. How he is still free is beyond me.

Trayvon Martin killing: witness says he saw Zimmerman walk away uninjured

The anonymous man said he reported to police details of what he saw on the evening of 26 February, which included watching the gunman walking away from the fight apparently uninjured.

It contradicts an allegation from Zimmerman's father earlier in the day that the unarmed black teenager broke his son's nose during the incident and also left him with bloody injuries from slamming the man's head repeatedly on to a concrete pavement. The eyewitness says he saw no blood and that the entire confrontation took place only on grass.

"I saw two men on the ground, one on top of the other. I felt they were scuffling and I heard gunshots which to me were more like pops," he said in an interview broadcast on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, his voice disguised to protect his identity.

"I don't know if was an echo but it definitely made more than one pop.
"After the larger man got off there was a boy, obviously now dead, on the ground facing down.

"It was dark. I can't say I watched him get up, but in a couple of seconds or so he was walking towards where I was watching and I could see him a little bit clearer. It was a Hispanic man. He didn't appear hurt or anything else. He just kind of seemed very worried with his hand up to his forehead."

Daryl Parks, attorney for Martin's parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, said the story "answers a lot of questions".

He said: "It is very clear this witness saw what happened and clearly indicated the person that he saw that did the shooting. The other part that really strikes out for me is that he seems to have not seen the apparent injuries from this altercation that Mr Zimmerman claims that he suffered.

"It seems clear that Zimmerman's statement about Trayvon following him back to the truck is totally untrue because from this witness's statement all the interaction happened in one particular area, so I think Mr Zimmerman will be arrested very soon."

CCTV video which shows Zimmerman hours after the teenager's death has also cast doubt on his claims that he was injured in a vicious fight with the victim. Earlier reports suggested that 17-year-old Martin had attacked Zimmerman first, with the bloodied gunman pulling the trigger in self-defence.

But in the footage, first aired by ABC news, Zimmerman's head and face are clearly visible and there appears to be no sign of any wounds. There are no obvious indications of blood on the front of his T-shirt that could indicate evidence of a broken nose.

If his nose was broken and had stitches done, a hospital patient file will show it.

all this about what witnesses did or didn't see is just adding confusion. But ALL of this makes it shocking to me that they didn't let charges be filed against Zimmerman. There's enough reasonable doubt here for him to need to defend himself in a trial. I have no doubt a Grand Jury will see the same.

And he would've had charges filed if left up to the lead investigator. He was, however, told NOT to pursue things by the state's attorney general (who should probably also be on trial). I would love to see the phone logs between the state's attorney general, the chief of police, and Zimmerman's father.

Are there seriously that many people with such a warped worldview in the world?

Trayvon Martin has a mothter at home, and his father is out with a woman who is obviously not his wife. Probably an adulterous sexual relationship. 17 year old Trayvon has his own girl friend, and in a conversation with her on the cell phone. So I ask what kind of example does the father give his son Trayvon Martin?
To make things worse, President Obama instead of cooling things down, reopens the race issus, maybe to get again 98% of the black vote.
Yesterdaty BBC News on its international news broadcast, reported that a 17 year old black, shot and killed 2 British tourists in Florida. One was shot 2 bullets into his head, a another was shot 5 bullets in the head. He killed them to rob them of their money. The boy was sentenced to life and no possibility for parole. So even 17 year old boys can be crininals and killers who end a human life.
Trayvon Martin had been suspended from school for misbehaving. In his bag was found stolen gold wedding rings with diamonds, marijuana, a screw driver for break in to enter homes. He appeared from behind and hit Zimmerman knocking him to the ground. It is reported that Zimmerman head was repeatedly bashed againt the pavement, and his nose was bleeding. Then he tried to grab Zimmerman's gun, and then he was shot in self defence.
Most black men in America have children and then take off. Most black children's homes are fatherless. Bill Crosby made that the topic of is interview. President Obama too was critical of black men and said about the same thing before being elected. Now he adds fuel to the race issue by making Trayvon Martin his ''son" and obviously trying to exploit this tragic event for his personal good.

Serious question for the Americans in this thread ... If Zimmerman does get found not guilty or whatever (and there is a good possibility of that happening considering the botched police "investigation" immediately following the incident) ... If he gets off completely ... Will there be riots? Like LA riots scale except this time nation wide?

As much as I'd like to think that kind of stuff is behind us now, I think it really could happen again in the scenario you just gave. Not where I live, but maybe in bigger cities like LA. I really hope that isn't the case though if he's found not guilty when it's not convincing to most people that he is.

Yet they wonder, or at least pretend to wonder, why they can't get the black vote. Hispanics are clearly next and I would say are already in the process of being treated like this.

Welp, Enron, kharvey and the rest of ZDF still with us pack it up, that about does it right there.

The last thread has ripped from the weight of hanging on to it, and the goalpost is in the stands amongst the crowd.

Honestly haven't had the energy to stay active in the last few days without losing my cool and probably catching a ban but the steady flow of damning news for Zimmerman keeps pouring in. I wonder what contrarian bullshit people will move on to next
 
There is a diffrence between trying someone in the media and demanding that there actually be a fucking trial!

This shit has got my pressure up lol
 
I haven't been following the details of this story so pardon for me asking a question that may have already been answered.

We know Zimmerman followed Martin.
We know Martin was aware of this and tried to lose him.
We know then a confrontation happened
And then Zimmerman shot Martin dead.

My question is, what provoked the physical confrontation (which presumably directly led to the gunshot) - what happened between the pursuit and the physical contact?

Alright Innocent until proven Guilty is an incredibly important concept and I don't think we should lost sight of that.

However Zimmerman not being arrested is a total travesty of justice and the entire justice system in Sanford needs to be put on trail as well as him.

Seems like the type to suck up to the white man and probably doesn't like being hispanic (all conjecture obviously, but just the feeling I get). Conservatives defend whoever supports/pushes the conservative agenda.

It may also be the case that their hatred of blacks matters more to them than hispanics. Lots of hispanics vote republican because of religious family values bullshit too.

Republicans were largely quiet about it until Obama talked about it. This was something that was pretty uncomfortable and that didn't really care to talk about because it doesn't fit into the "Whites are oppressed in Obama's America" narrative. Fox News brought it up once before Obama weighed in. Once he weighed in, they reflexively took the opposite position as Obama did. "Obama wants to investigate Zimmerman and the Police? The only person who needs to be investigated is that thug, Martin!"

Obama didn't 'weigh in' though. He was asked a direct question and answered in an extremely reasonable manner.
