Actually I downloaded the 720p version by mistake before getting the 1080p. It still looks great, but there is a subtle difference, mostly in the line art. Unless you have a jumbo TV/Monitor the 720p is fine for most purposes. I think the filesize was 1.3GB vs the 1.51.

Why they even delay the release of this show in other territories -- especially ones where Nickelodeon is available anyway, like the UK -- is baffling.

Yeah, i'm feeling you regarding the hoops one has to jump through to follow this show outside of the US.
I hope we won't have to wait too long for the blu-rays. What is the track record for nickelodeon shows on BD regarding region locking? I imported the A:TLA Books 1-3 from the US since i have the means to play them, but i don't feel like investing into a region free BD player just for a handful of releases.

I haven't done this yet, but have you set 1080p as preferred in your iTunes settings. You need 10.6 or a later version.

Although I'm thinking the writers might've let that into the trailer to fuel fan speculation one way, while taking the romance plot another direction. The only context we have of the kiss is that Mako was surprised.

Yeah they did the same thing with the TLA finale trailer, using Aang's kiss attempt from The Ember Island Players and Katara and Zuko's hug in The Southern Raiders to tease the shippers.
