3DS Streetpass Experiences

To my understanding, there's always a trigger of some sort to empty the queue.

In Mario Kart, you have to go to the Mario Kart Channel for it to process and empty the queue (which is more important, since the upper limit on streetpasses for MK7 is 3 instead of the plaza's 10).
The limit on MK7 is 10, like the Plaza. Mario 3D Land is the only one with 3.

Although note that SM3DL streetpasses with 3DS that don't have SM3DL. These don't show up in notifications, but they do in-game, and they will "revive" a Toad House.

Edgar Wright was on campus this past weekend for two days (Scott Pilgrim Friday at midnight, double bill of Shaun & Fuzz on Saturday). I got about 6-8 streetpasses each day. Word. I never get them. Managed to get all the KI:U streetpass-only puzzle pieces plus a few more for other puzzles. Also got some sweet weapon gems for Kid Icarus. Too bad they are crazy expensive to unlock.

oh yeah! one more question for the zelda symphony: I know i need to keep clearing the 10 in queue to get more while doing so, but let's say i finally exhaust the passes around me, either before or after the show: if i sent the 3DS clock a few days in the past (or future), can i get those people again?

new page - anyone know if you can get streetpasses again while in the same vicinity by changing the system date, or do both people have to do that?

I don't think that works. StreetPass only works in 8 hours blocks. I'm pretty sure changing your time or dating wouldn't do anything. Then again, I haven't tried it myself, and I would never try it because it would mess up my Activity Log, lol.

I've streetpassed with my brother 53 times now, but for the past 4 days our 3DSs randomly stopped doing so. Has anyone else encountered this?

That's odd... Not sure what the problem would be. That hasn't ever happened to me. Both 3DS are powered on with their wireless turned on too, right? Have you been playing online games at all? Because StreetPass doesn't work when you're playing online, or playing a game that is constantly connected to the Internet while in range of a Wi-Fi connection like Kid Icarus: Uprising. Though even if one of you or the other were playing online all day, you should still StreetPass each other at night while your 3DSes are in Sleep Mode... Weird.

i think someone else mentioned this a page or two back - Zebra, is your wi-fi light still flashing? hit the switch on & off again and see if that fixes it.

I never see you on 3DS anymore :O
That's because...*sniff*...I deleted you. :'( I had to delete pretty much all of the people I added from GAF and other forums to make room for people I know in person from StreetPass meetups. I wish the friend limit was higher than 100, then I wouldn't have to delete anyone... =/

oh ok :( lol that explains it hehe :p now i know street pass is more important to you than Kyon i see how it is Tye :<

I got my first StreetPass at work. I work in a stuffy corporate office type place, so I never expected one ever, I bring my 3DS mostly for step counter and to play on lunch break. They even gave me a Kid Icarus gem. Now the challenge will be to troll around the time/area I got it today a few more times to see if it hits again and send them my eMail ID. I wouldn't mind meeting someone of similar tastes at my job, to be honest.

Just got back from picking up badges at PAX and wandering around checking out Anime Boston and I got a total of 65 Streetpasses today. I'm scared on what Saturday will bring. Only need a few more Kid Icarus pieces and I'm all done with the puzzles!

I wish Boston was always so good for StreetPasses. I've owned my 3DS since launch, with nearly a million steps, and I still haven't hit 40 tags. :(

I'll make sure I do lots of walking about this weekend to take advantage of all the visitors.

I'll bring mine tomorrow, I never got a single hit since I never took my 3DS outside, it'll explode from all the hits at PAX

So you just close the lid and it will be in sleep mode and it'll get hits?

Think I put "3DS gonna 3DS" as my message, I should change it

Close the lid, make sure your wireless on and you activated StreetPass, and you're good to go.

Don't forget about the 10 tags queue limit so check your 3DS often

Also make sure you're not in a game that otherwise disables Streetpass functions (like DS or virtual console games). Best to just be in the home screen.

But he's only StreetPassed his brother 53 times, and even at 99 tags you still get the person's Mii through your gate to use in Puzzle Swap and Find Mii.

Whelp after 5 days the two 3DS's started streetpassing again. I have no idea what the issue was. -shrugs-

Ka-boom lol

Over 100 hits today and I'm addicted to the puzzle swap and find me, damn those ghosts with shields.

I had three greetings today, first was "3DS gonna 3DS" then ":o hello PAX JC" then I left it on "neogaf friskykf". Did anyone get me?

Sorry for the double post but I thought I would post my PAX streetpass experiences :p

Anyways Mii plaza play time 3:33 lol.

Streetpasses today 280

Kid Icarus: Over 150. Can't tell but I had the gem thing full and that holds 99 gems and now I have it full again and still have to add another 28. So between 150-180

Mario Kart 7: 200. Thank god it says the amount!

RE:R about 37. Didn't care much tbh.

MP3 player: 44.

That's all the streetpass games I have. Somethings I like to add. First IDK if it's because it can't read them fast enough but being online made streetpassing a pain. When I would use the local wifi I got about 1 streetpass every 5 minutes. When I deleted the wifi info it shot up to being full every 5 minutes for about 30 minutes. Seconds I haven't had to charge my 3DS all day! Got 8:04 hours of play time and atm it's on the 3rd bar!!!! Woooo power grip!!!! Last almost all puzzles are done!!!!

Will go again next year and maybe the numbers will double :o

Amazing streetpasses at Brighton, UK.

Every person I passed had every pink puzzle piece.
Plus, I had the fortune to meet a Mii on their birthday, unlocking an extremely hard to get achievement.

Anyways Mii plaza play time 3:33 lol.

Streetpasses today 280
These two are not mutually exclusive, ha. It's a shame that the queue for StreetPasses is so small. To really take advantage of an event like PAX you need to have your face in your DS like all day long to constantly clear out the queue, which sucks.

Anyway, I have a question about StreetPasses with SM3DL. Do you need to get to a certain point in the game for them to even start showing up? I just started the game this morning before heading out, and obviously activated the SP feature when prompted (and it's definitely on in the system settings), but only played the first two levels really quickly. Now, I passed a shitload of people today, but supposedly no one with SM3DL? I almost find that hard to believe. Any ideas, or do not that many people actually have the game? Because I get MK7 tags like they're going out of style.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess I've sort of answered my own question. SM3DL only has a paltry three StreetPass slots, so it's pretty likely that anyone else I've passed today with the game just hasn't emptied their queue. Oh well, I guess I'll get one eventually.

I got about 200 hits the first day of PAX and close to 300 on Saturday. Obviously finished my puzzle panels and of course got the 100 tags in 1 day achievement.

Can't even begin to count the total tags obtained at PAX East/Anime Boston. I broke 1000 total tags and am sitting at around 994 population.

I went to the Zelda concert in Denver this weekend. Probably got 70 passes. Didn't realize there was a limit of 10 queued up for Mii Plaza. FFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

Got 45 gems for KI:U though including some good ones.

Before coming to PAX East, I had one StreetPass. Now, I have like 280 or something like that.

Really getting into them here shows me even more how broken the entire process is. This is a great example of why I've never been able to be a Nintendo fan - they do some really interesting things, but then inevitably screw it up somehow. StreetPass is a sort of "this would be so cool if only..." thing for me.

Also, Find Mii feels like it was made specifically to mock Americans and others who wouldn't be getting constant StreetPasses. *heh*

Funny you posted this, was about to make a post wondering if anyone else just stopped giving a shit about Streetpass/Plaza.

I just don't care for it anymore, the puzzles and everything. I'm a few stages into secret quest and just thought fuck it, no point grinding coins since I hardly ever streetpass people just for hats. (Not a TF2 player as you can tell!)

I've been playing since launch. It's a fun little diversion and you get rewarded for it. Nothing more to it than that, it's cute and it's free.

I was there too. I think a lot of people didn't know about the 10 que limit because I was getting tons of streetpasses before the concert and then only 2 afterwards when everyone was exiting at the same time. I think lots of people have full ques.

I got every pink piece but 3 though.

I get like one a day, each time with different people whenever I go to class. Either at college or riding the subway. And there's probably less than 5000 3DS in my whole country

Plus Find Mii is easible beaten with just Play Coins. Puzzle thingy on the other hand needs streetpasses.

my girlfriend & i live in brighton & rarely get streetpasses! 3 each time we go out, tops. boo!

You should go up Brighton Pier more often - that's where I got most of mine.

Brighton Marina is where I got the others. (I stayed there for three days at the Seattle hotel.)

Wanna see some nuts streetpass stats from PAX East?
I had 9 street passes before going to Boston this weekend. Nine.
Here's my 3DS after PAX East:

I also had street passes from Australia, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Japan.
I got the accomplishment for street passing 10 different countries while at PAX East. CRAZY.
This was all just while walking the halls in-between seeing 10 different panels, visiting the exhibition hall and going to the classic arcade and console rooms multiple times.
I got all 345 puzzle pieces in less than a day, and beat Find Mii 2 four times (twice on the secret quest) before I got sick of it.
Honestly, it seems like these streetpassing games were made just for PAX.
