Today's games suck. I have no vitriol to sling at any of the 6 teams or their fanbases.

I've been a Flyers fan too long to believe this. There is no organization in sports more adept in crushing dreams. I want to believe so bad. These games have been amazing.
Oh well. At least there are plenty of great games to watch today
.edit: Tabris has special powers. Maybe he can get them to put Schneider in. We are losing him in the offseason anyway. Let's see what he can do for us.

Actually that's a really good point. I hate a lot of the teams that have cost the Flyers cups over the years (Devils, Wings, Lightning....) but I don't have that feeling for the Hawks. I really do like Toews. Kane is just a reminder of how fucked we got in that draft though....
To be honest that feeling is probably because I treated every game after game 3 in the Bruins series as extra icing. That series was one of the most amazing things to watch ever. Loved that team so much.
I believe it's possible to turn it around, but I'm also no fool. The Kings are in a great position to win the series, we lost the initiative and it'll take no less than a herculean undertaking to seize it. If they do, you're no more a sage than you were last year.

Tabris' unquestioning demeanor of the Canucks can be compared pretty closely to that of a dog's. It'd be endearing if he wasn't also such a fucking moron. Canucks train must be derailed to balance this out, I hear trauma is capable of changing entire personalities. First round sweep may be enough.

He didn't tell you because the Lightning are out of the playoffs, they just substituted the whole AHL team with the Lightning, well at least Stamkos and St. Louis.

Cory Conacher (AHL MVP), Mark Barberio, Richard Panik, and Dustin Tokarski. Conacher will almost certainly be in Tampa's lineup next season.

I think what ever happens this year is kind of a bonus. This was supposed to be the year to get the young guys used to the system and get them some playoff experience. I think next year the Flyers make a real run at winning a cup. So far this year has been a great ride though.

Bryz, Briere, Kimmo, and Jagr aren't getting any younger unfortunately. And that's ignoring Pronger....
And these young guys won't have these small contracts forever.
Flyers can't afford to "write off" years as developmental.

The NorFolk story is amazing, one of the top sports stories this year. It just seems ripe for a Hollwyood treatment. Especially with the little touches, like all the Superstitions the players (and town) are following.
For what it's worth, I think Barberio will end up being the better pro than Conacher. Conacher is talented, and ballsy, but he is legitimately tiny for a human being, let alone an NHLer.

Weren't you immediately saying that this team was better with the trades they made?
Like bruce said, you add a year to development for some players, but you take away youth from others. I do think next season they'll be better, though, especially if Pronger retires and the Flyers can sign a top defenseman. Gotta take on JVR's pay raise and give Voracek one, too, though.

Yes I said that I thought this years team would be better then last years team. Last years team didnt even win a game in the 2nd round, it wont take much for this years team to pass them. I have also said all year that I dont think this years Flyers team can win the cup. At some point they will have to play the Bruins or Rangers and they have no chance of beating either team in a 7 game series.

Yep. I really hope the coaching staff doesn't think everything is okay defensively. All of the players talk about is how they need to "get to their game," "get bounces," and "keep the puck in their end." Almost no one is saying anything about the defense and its mistakes.

Man I hope you are right. I am rooting for the Sens and Caps as much as I am the Flyers. If the Kings and Flyers make it to the SCF will you be torn at all?
