He is a swagger jacker indeed. I got to say though his style is his own, Greco-Roman, Judo, & Kickboxing. Fuck what ya'll say I even see a little bit of Puroresu. The nerd in me loves John Jones. That said Rashad is a beast he is stronger knows John is human more than anybody. Greg Jackson would know all of Rashad's weaknesses however Jones has been training in the same environment Rashad knows very well himself. Shad may have evolved he picked up pointers from B-hop, have a team of elite fighters that specialize in every area of the game. Looks stronger, & above all has hate burning in his heart seeing a protege take his title shot & succeed to the point of being a rookie prospect into a champion seemingly overnight. Hate is the single most motivating factor, I know Rashad will show no mercy this is going to be great, we will see Jones aura of invincibility disintegrate before our very eyes. In this fight he will appear very human.
Human to the point of Cain vs Brock. Jones will pay for any mistakes in his flashy spin kicks & elbows. Regardless of what you believe this one just may not be going to decision fellas.

Jones looks human in every fight...for the first round...then the systematic destruction commences. I don't think this fight will be any different.

Jones by whatever he wants. I call third round TKO by G&P.

Watch the fight again. Shogun was completely and utterly overwhelmed. There was practically zero offence from him.
 
I think Rashad will do better than some of said, mainly because he used to train with the guy and isn't afraid of him, still may lose but I think he knows the gameplan (close the fucking gap!).

How would people see Silva Jones going? I know Anderson want's no part of this guy nearly half his age but still curious.
 
Bones by decision over Rashad, possibly dropping a round or two. Haters will have a field day if he shows any sign of mortality.

Bones would TKO Anderson on the canvas within 3 rounds.
 
I just went over to Rashad Evans Wikipedia page to check his record and it said this

Win 17-2-1 Jon Jones KO (Flying knee) UFC 145 April 21, 2012 1 0:23 Atlanta, Georgia, United States For UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.


Somebody listed his fight as a win however, counted it as a loss by Jon Jones with a flying knee. LOL.



I am not a MMA junkie however I do watch most of the fights, why is Jones such a favorite to win this fight?

He's demolished the entire upper echelon of the light heavyweight division over the course of a year and made it look easy.

He's a legit phenom.

No it wasn't, but he still made tough guys look like nothing, and he did it at 23 years old, most guys that age are lucky to have a UFC contract at all.

Jones moving up to HW is going to be where people get their wishes granted, a guy like Reem (assuming he is still in the UFC by then) will catch that jaw.
 
It's going to take an unreal fighter at LHW to crack the Jon Jones code. His effective use of reach and his speed takes a lot of the"puncher's chance" away. The only way I see Bones getting caught is if he makes a major mistake with his footwork (like that popular gif where Rampage turns an angle on him and Bones "runs").
 
205 use to be the place to be 3 years ago. It was insanely stacked with veteran stars.

Forrest

Jardine (had a good run before his downfall)

Now most of those fighters no longer fight in that division or are on their way to the retirement home.

The only way Jones ever beats Anderson is due to age. Anderson is pushing 40 while Jones is a young lion thats not even 25.

They should just get it over with and inject The Reem and JBJ with as much steroids as they could take without OD'ing and have them slug it out. It'll be the fight of the forever.
 
I still don't think the way beat Jones at 205 is to really wrestle with him. It will take a vicious striker to beat him. A 205 version of prime CroCop that would utilize strong kicks to the body and legs. I have no clue why Shogun did not engage in any offense whatsoever in that fight. As a huge Shogun fanboy that was a pathetically bad showing injured or not. The Shogun that fought Rampage in Pride was the Shogun that should have shown up to fight.

Shogun had a really rough ride since pride. Multiple injuries/surgeries..that shit takes its toll. I don't think he's gotten even close to how he used to be in pride.

Shogun's performances in the UFC have been pretty bad for the most part.

He looked terrible against Forrest Griffin, Mark Coleman and Jon Jones, and looked pretty bad in his fight with Dan Henderson bar the last round.

The knee injuries and multiple operations hampered his career tremendously.

Not only that, but he was rocked REALLY hard right at the beginning of the fight. He was in a haze the rest of the fight. Same thing with the Hendo fight, but Hendo isn't JBJ, so Shogun could hang in there and even turn the tide.

Thiago Silva (13-0) vs. Lyoto Machida (13-0)

Few things quite match the automatic hype of two undefeated fighters facing off. In Machida/Silva, we have Aggressive vs. Elusive. I'm really not sure how to break this fight down or who to pick, but I'm excited to see what happens. Silva has only had one of his fights go to decision, while Machida has had 8 of his fights (61%) go the distance. I'm going to flip the coin and call Machida the victor.

Karo Parisyan (18-5) vs. Dong Hyun Kim (11-0)

Karo's star has fallen in the past year or so, and he's had to deal with some personal issues as well. Nonetheless, he's always an exciting fighter, and I'll always be a fan. Kim is undefeated, but against lackluster competition. I'm hoping Karo pulls it off here.

Nathan Diaz (10-2) vs. Clay Guida (24-9)

The less-retarded Diaz brother faces off against Mr. Energy, Clay Guida. Diaz tends to pull off come-from-behind wins very well, but this is a step up in competition for him, and I'm not quite sure Diaz has the potential to solve Guida. Guida by decision in an exciting fight.

Stephan Bonnar (11-4) vs. Jon Jones (7-0)

Stephan Bonnar returns after a year-long layoff to fight an undefeated nobody. Bonnar.

Jon Fitch (17-3) vs. Akihiro Gono (29-13-7)

Fitch goes from headlining to relegated to the prelims. Damn. The lesson is: Don't cross The Dana.

Anyway, Gono is a vet, but he won't beat Fitch.

Most likely Machida will win this fight via decision by being "elusive". I hope Silva KOs this guy, I'm tired of Machida coming out and outpointing his opponents. It would be an epic night to see his bandwagon go down like the Titanic.

I'll take the American Psycho in this one. I got to support a fellow Region Rat.

Karo Parisyan vs Dong Hyun Kim

The Heat looked like shit at the weigh in and given his mental status, I think the stun gun can pull the upset.

Nate Diaz vs Clay Guida

Fight of the Night right here guys. I think Clay will get caught by a slick sub. Stockton CA represent lol.

Jon Fitch vs Akihiro Gono

I think Fitch takes this, I hope the fight is televised. Dana is a bitch.

There's not really anyone in that division who can do that right now.
