Always thought it was odd that Arona didn't do much after Pride. I guess maybe he felt he wouldn't be as effective away from Pride's "unorthodox" drug testing methods. Maybe injuries had built up too much. I also remember hearing that he just spent his time after Pride surfing and enjoying that lifestyle.
 
Arona was ahead of his time with the wrestling/BJJ style, but Brazilians of that era was 30% human and 70% steroids, that's gotta take it's toll.

Anyone here remember the old-school highlight guys, like bigrys, krikit, pål or kyho?
 
Fumbled his legacy? I'm sorry, but what the fuck are you talking about? Not fighting Tom Aspinall automatically negates beating Shogun, Rampage, Chael Sonnen, Vitor, Machida, Gustaffson, Cormier, etc.?
