Halo 4 - November 6, 2012.

Why does every trailer have to be like that? Atleast the Halo trailers are not "Fuck yeah explosions!"

Did I say they ALL have to be like that? No, read again. And I already said the ODST one was great. My whole point is that not EVERY Halo trailer has to be a somber, poignant, live-action trailer.

Those trailers have no in-game footage whatsoever and focus on campaign. I'm saying Halo needs some kick-ass multiplayer trailers to balance those out. You don't think that's fair?

And not a single fuck was given.

I quite like that the trailers focus on singleplayer and they should always focus on that.

Multiplayer is just harder to sell via trailer. It's often comes off as "Look at all this we got, you can do this and this". Not even COD does that, their trailers mostly focus on singleplayer.

As a fan of both series, this is exciting news. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Graphically they look fine, art style wise they look awkward.

That's what I mean. I'm really not digging Halo 4's art style.

I think he meant that the character models don't 'fit' with the art style.

They just look a little plastic to me, plus the helmets make the Spartan IV's look like Transformers.

There's that, but I've been getting the "this shit isn't right"-vibe right since it was announced. Sorry 343.

Sorry but the Spartans look stupid, default permutation should be the Chief. Bah hated that in Reach too. Also why did they have to use Warhouse, nasty looking. Oh wait, there's another video

I'm with you. I haven't liked a single damn thing I've seen style wise. On a technical level yea it looks great. I won't deny that. But when it comes to the designs and look of things I just don't like it. Course I don't play just for the graphics so I can get past those if the campaign is on par with Bungie's work which I loved.

truer words...

Also was the first direct feed footage of Halo 4 just released as a RvB video ?
No, direct feed footage was released on March 4th or 5th.

No, you posted a knee-jerk criticism and missed the entire point of the post, which pointed to the COD trailers as an example of a more exciting, action-based, in-game trailer against the usual Halo fare.
I got your point. I don't like your point.

Also thought it was reach at first, but I went back and looked at the reach videos and ya, halo 4 does look a lot better, cleaner and higher poly models.

Halos art style kinda makes all the games blend into each other for me. If that makes any sense.

Also the second video, the one where there at the forrunner place, looks a lot better then the one where there in the warehouse looking area.

I'm hoping Halo 4 doesn't have that blurry filtered look that Reach has.

It seems like nobody really likes the default multiplayer armor setup. How, with endless testing and hundreds of genius developer minds, do they let stuff like this go through?

I'd say some Gaf folks don't like it, I think it's fine. Honestly, we've seen it twice total, and none of the customization has been explained. Who knows what any of this is.

343i ditched the temporal AA that Bungie used in Reach which was the cause for the blurry look...in fact Halo 4 will easily have the best IQ ever in a Halo game since it's running at 1280*720 with FXAA.

Now about the release date...day freakin' one of course, my most anticipated game of 2012 by far.

As others have said, it's surprising they would date it so close to CoD. In a way it makes sense, usually by the time CoD comes around, many people who have purchased Halo have been playing it for a couple months and are likely open to a new game.

And the cycle will continue, with the millions of sales and critics jacking off to them both.

Hey, Halo deserves all the jacking off it receives.

Haha yeah, you have to work hard at having a worse sp than cod

DICE must have worked incredibly hard on BF3's campaign. =p

Considering Halo makes the kind of money on one console that COD make on 4 different platforms, i dont see why this is impossible.

It's highly doubtful Halo 4 will outsell BLOPs 2 on the 360 IMO.

MS better have a gargantuan marketing budget ready and 343 better deliver.

Going head to head against COD...disgunbgud.gif.
I feel like a segment on Conan the very day they announce the release date is a good start. Shows they're being aggressive.

This thread is going places.

Why not simply save the date (and money) and stop comparing halo's and cod's dicks? and why can't blops 2 release the week after or two weeks after?

I think the short video wasn't meant to be very funny by the way, just a bitter (sweet) take on the whole Reach shebang where the marketing was overly dramatic.

Anyway, I'm booked for November 6th and 7th. My Mjolnir is ready.

I like the armor, it's somewhat reminiscent of Gundam.

I'm starting to develop a certain fondness for the design. The little angel wings are really quite adorable and add a gentler flair to your superhuman killing machines.
And the codpiece has cute little arms, so what's not to like about it, really?

Honestly, after MC's armor reveal, it's not at all surprising I don't like the default multiplayer armor.

Well you can't beat Master Chief's swag look. We all have to earn our right to wear his armor in mp. And with that, I'll be taking off the whole week to play this puppy.

Thank you sir! That makes me like, 1000x more pumped for this game :)

Well that's good. Sprint has a meter which limits your sprint. Also seems that they looked at Halo 1 & 3 the most when it comes to things. I'm happy with that at least.

Even if the game looks exactly like Reach, the much better IQ will make a world of a difference in the quality of visuals...add to that the new/different art-direction from 343i and I'm sure we'll have a very interesting looking game in our hands in November. :)

When I toss a nade' under a speeding hog does it flip like a mother fucker?

2 managed to fuck up such a basic natural thing as that.
