Halo 4 - November 6, 2012.

Dwarfing is an hyperbole, selling something in the ballpark of COD is not something to look down at. Tons of publishers would gladly be in that position.
That...was not my point. I was commenting on the ridiculous notion that Activision would move the date of its next CoD game because Halo 4 was coming out.

COD vs Halo is not my war to fight, it's MS's and Activision's. I hope/think MS executives know what they're doing. Either way Halo is big enough to stand on its own and it's 440% guaranteed there will be Halo 5. If direct confrontation with COD will bite MS in the ass, they'll schedule Halo 5 for September. *shrug*

As for myself, I hope Halo 4 is going to be a standout game that not only has nothing to fear from competition but is also good enough to warrant strong word of mouth for many months (or longer) after its release - just like it used to be with the earlier games. I don't play COD (haven't played one since MW1), I'm ambivalent towards it. The only thing Halo 4 November release means is that AC3 will have to wait until December. :p

That's a day after my birthday, and I'll probably get the game a day before release so I'm happy.

Is this the Conan reveal thing or was that something else?

I am expecting a balls out marketing campaign, they better sell this shit hard if they are venturing into CoD territory.

Also, day 1.
Yeah, I've got to imagine that the marketing machine will be pushing this super hard. It being a numbered sequel certainly helps.

Halo marketing is the best marketing for any game franchise hands down. The Halo 3 believe commercials sold me on a 360. It made me feel like, shit if I don't play this game then I'm going to miss out BIG TIME. Reach commercial with the somber music during all the chaos was also a great ad.

I'm super excited to see what H4 brings to the table, and I hope they retain the theme of slow melody music with still pieces of chaos/action. :D

I dont think hes said one positive thing about the game yet...

Listen, I really LOVED Halo 3, ODST and Reach. And I'm pretty damn positive I will love the SP side of Halo 4.

On the other hand, I'm really not excited for the Halo 4 MP and I actually hate most of the choices that we have heard about so far for the MP side.

The fuck 343i might have been in bad taste indeed, I apologize.

Hmm, not too impressed by the graphics, but no biggie.

Its a modified Reach engine so ya, it looks very similar. I honestly didn't really see a diff other than the lighting.

You know, i kinda wish they had weather effects in MP sometimes. It would add a little something.

If you can't see the way improved poly counts on the spartans and the super clean image quality then you must be blind to any graphical upgrades.
Seriously. I'm not that picky about graphics, and even I see a marked upgrade in visuals. But that's probably just cause it's Halo, and I pay attention to Halo.

Fuck yeah, this game is going to consume me.

And yup. But they still need to push Halo 4 harder than normal, make people aware that it is changing the formula a bit. They need both epic and emotional marketing as well as adrenaline filled, fun marketing for the 'casual' crowd.

Honestly, they just choose a bad map (warhouse) to show off IMO, and without any movement it all looked stagnant. Wraparound looks better, but they still could have shown off the lighting more.

I just hope we don't get a shit commercial like there is a soldier in all of us. :(

The Halo Reach live action trailers weren't very good, especially coming off the amazing ODST live action trailer. But seriously, why live action at all? Where's the Halo version of the Eminem COD trailers? Hate Eminem/COD as much as you want; those things get the people pumped up. And Halo has awesome music of its own to use.

Just watched some of the other waypoint vids on youtube and just realized that sparth works for 343. That dude is a great artist! I'm really excited now for Halo 4!

cod 12 vs cod-in-space.

whoever wins, originality dies.

No kidding, two franchises that live because gamers need comfort food. Every over hyped shooter takes down like a dozen good original small games.

Why does every trailer have to be like that? Atleast the Halo trailers are not "Fuck yeah look explosions!".

Deliver Hope > ODST

Atleast those have some fiction in them.

What does this even mean?
