Eh, I don't think it's particularly good either. Are there any really good red spells with flashback? Is other ones are kind of shit too, earliest you can get the hand damage one is turn 4 and unless they've been getting screwed in some manner there shouldn't be that many cards in their hand where it would be worth killing him and if you wait it's even less cards. That ability just seems to slow. Getting to 6 will probably also be slow and painful and if you're that close the opponent might wait on some creatures until you ultimate him. I just don't see a point still. They had him too narrow unless there's a bunch of cards to support him...

So would that also mean every time Gideon uses his 0 ability, Champion of the Parish only gets the counter the first time and every use after that doesn't give him the counter?
 
Gideon transforming doesn't trigger "Enter the battlefield" effects I believe.

She was prominently featured in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012, so that would make sense.

Ral Zarek was also featured in the first expansion. I'm not much into the lore, but he apparently comes from Ravnica and is an Izzet guildmage, so take from that what you will.

Makes her much likelier in a block with a merman tribe theme, I suppose. So, probably not for awhile. I don't think there are merfolk on Ravnica.

Man, see, cause I want both Niv-Mizzet and this new guy as planeswalkers, but they aren't going to have two U/R planeswalkers in the same block. Unless Niv-Mizzet color-shifts or something.
 
Maybe that guy is just Niv Mizzet taking the form of a human!
 
Conjecture: perhaps they used Ral instead of Niv in the game because they didn't want to tip their hand on their plans for Niv (or Ravnica) just yet...?

I'd rather have Ral Zareck as the planeswalker. Niv Mizzet is already a dragon, so that's enough badass points in my book.

Or hell, just print 2 U/R walkers in the same set, wouldn't bug me. :)

MTGSalvation says Bolas is 25,000 years old, I know Niv is 15000 years old.

Although Niv might be older, the site said "at least".

Soulbond (You may pair this creature with another unpaired creature when either enters the battlefield. They remain paired for as long as your control both of them.)

As the bolded says, as long as you control both of them each card is paired. When one goes away, they are no longer paired (together, or at all).

So you can re-pair the Soulbound creature with a new creature that enters the battlefield once it's original partner is gone.
 
Yup, blinking would work. Or swinging wildly into the wind with the non-soulbound keyworded paired creature. lol

Honestly I can't wait for Silverblade Paladin. Throwing him down and giving Champion of the Parish or Angelic Overseer (for the mid/later game) double strike just sounds too good.

Casting him with Cavern of Souls so he can't be countered, too. Feels good.
 
I spend a lot less, but I hardly ever buy singles and I don't think I ever did in MTGO. Packs are much cheaper in bulk than online boosters, and I find I give digital purchases less thought. I was much more impulse-prone in my MTGO days, much as I have been with DD games over physical copies.
 
Judging by the lore and all the various novels, nobody comes close to matching Bolas's arrogance and power. He makes the rest of the planeswalkers look like children with firecrackers.

Online you can get singles for a fraction of their real world worth. You can build a totally awesome deck for 20 tix, where the same deck would cost that in about 8 cards.

I still spend more in paper, because I'm a fucking artard who likes to open packs.
 
I'm glad LSV is excited about the Loothouse, Sulfar Falls is the only land I have 4 of right now :D I'd like to have my 4 colour Burning Vengeance be more competitive by dropping the Vengeances.

Venser question: Say I choose to exile something that is tapped using his first ability. When it comes back, it should enter the battlefield untapped right?
