Mario using flat 1x1 tiles.

Thought about that, but is there room on the case? Doesn't look like it. If there was, I would do that fast.

Here were two cool ones I found:

WOW! That is an awesome microscale.

And here is one idea I had for the Lego iPhone case. Simple, and to the point.

But of course I will try and find flat bricks with no stud to make the case. But I might have all the pieces now if I use studded pieces.

thats a full brick high - they look more like cheese slopes. Plus, right behind the 2nd brown slope from the top, there is a grey 1x2 slope at the same level, so no space to have anything under it

Those of you that are covering your iPhone 4's in cases, and then piling bricks onto the cases, ought to be ashamed of yourselves. It's like buying a Ferrari and then putting a LEGO spoiler on it. In fact, it's like putting a Halfords spoiler on it and then putting LEGO on the Halfords spoiler.

That's a LEGO TARDIS, LEGO TARDIS' are cool.

Ohhhhhhh, I was trying to figure out what this was, now you've said it it's pretty cool.

I'd be worried of all the little 1x1 studs falling off it though, in fact I'd be worried about all the bricks/plates falling off and it being too bulky. But I like my phone caseless, having said that if I had an iPhone I'd probably have a case for it, every time I hold one I feel like it's about to slide out of my hand.

So I started work this week on my Ghostbuster torso decals, these will be done with water slide decal paper, I've never done a custom minifig before or used water slide decals so this will be interesting... here's my first torso...

I'm open to critique as I only get one shot at applying these so I want to make sure they're perfect.

Minus the tennis player I have the exact same collection. HA HA. Probably won't bother getting any more since the Computer Boff was the main one I was after.

I got all the ones I wanted, too. Not sure I will bother finsihing it off since I only have about 75% of Series 5 and 6.

So awesome! That looks great. Is the back going to have a proton pack or will you be making it out of a minifig backpack or something?

I would also suggest a "slimed" verson and you could use a minifigure with a grossed out face.

Not a bad idea!, I'll give it a shot when I get some time, I was tempted to make slightly different collars\shirts wrinkles for each ghostbuster but I may get lazy and just change the name tags.

As for the backpacks I ordered these custom proton pack, gun and night vision goggles like 2 years ago with the intent of doing some customs but never got around to ordering the bodies and making the decals until now.

The slimer in that image is actually a star wars minifig of a baby jabba the hut, I ordered one last week.

Wife gave me the SW Bounty Hunter ship this year. Really impressive build; not a lot of pieces but it has a really smart hydraulics system. Way more impressive than my old firstgen SW products.

(Hard to believe how crappy the old tie fighters look now)

I would never think of going more than one stud high of the case. Then it just gets stupid. One stud high or flat pieces should still be flat enough to not worry about things falling off and not adding much bulk. It will still be thinner than many cases out there.

Anyone else have the Alien Mothership? Just built it and the sound brick isn't working. I pulled the tab out as instructed. Wondering if there was anything else I had to do. Opened it up, wow these batteries are tiny. I guess I will try to find new batteries. I don't really understand how the thing works--not seeing where the red button makes a connection. Maybe I have that piece positioned wrong.

Just saw the Avengers sets today. Holy crap I don't have that kind of money for Legos! Is there no way I can get just the figurines from Lego?

I bricklinked the ones I could only get in the expensive sets, the other ones it works out cheaper to just buy the sets (wolverine chopper, loki cube chase and captain america bike)

And the Wolverine Chopper set is cheap for having so many great figures. It isn't just one good figure, but three. And a cool chopper too.

Got 3 of the cheap sets for the kids of course! Aside from the star wars ones that I've purchased before I gotta say these are my faves. Gonna think about getting the quinjet.

I figured I'd get the Chopper and the bike, but YEESH, people want 20 bucks for Black Widow or Hulk on Bricklink.

I paid that, at Australian RRP for the 2 sets that have hulk, black widow, thor and the different iron man it would have cost me $190 for the quinjet and hulk breakout sets, plus postage.

Instead I paid about $80 including postage for the 4 minifigures, the only things I wanted out of those sets and saved myself $110.

I'm tempted to pick up a few of these as I can see their value increasing as soon as it goes OOP

welp, don't know which set to pick up first, so which of these will be OOP first

Pet Shop
Black Pearl
M Falcon 7965

Black pearl at a guess. Pirates has been out for a while. Pet shop only just came out, and you can't not have a millennium falcon for sale, so the only reasoned take 7965 off the shelves would be to replace it

oh, I prefer Amazon, free shipping, prefer the Pet Shop though because it is two buildings and more mini-figs
Fire Brigade is only that much on Amazon because it is an after market seller. Even with tax and shipping from Lego it would be less than $200. People just jack up the price because it might be going OOP soon. Hell. Just order it from ToysRUs for $150 and get free shipping.

If OOP is your worry, get Fire brigade and go somewhere other than Amazon.

hmmm I can see myself buying all the modular sets from now on, noooooooo

the fire brigade is that much better than pet shop? The buildings in pet shop have cool interiors, that is why I didn't consider the Grand Emporium

Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium have really cool interiors. It is all about the tiny little touches as you put them together. There are so many little touches in Fire Brigade that you discover as you are building it, and that become nearly impossible to see once it is constructed. But you know they are there from building it. It feels like this cool little secret that only you know.

Fire Brigade was the first modular I got since it was going OOP, so I am biased. I will be getting Pet Shop, which I hear does have an awesome interior (yet the townhouse part apparently doesn't).

And if you are thinking of going all modulars, get Fire Brigade now. You lament the $200 on Amazon, but I can guarantee that it will go up significantly very quickly after it goes officially OOP.

Any tips/help with LEGO painting? I'm not going to pay $120 for the two bley boat mast riggings and I'm thinking about paiting a couple of black ones. If successful I might paint A LOT more pieces...
