I just saw the episode 4 preview, lol.Korra doesn't exactly come up with the best plans. Sir, I challenge you to a duel!
You kidding me? That's called ballz of steel!
But yeah it is a pretty dumb plan

Everything appears lackluster when compared to Azula.Wow at the unanimous love for the third episode.
I thought it was super weak. Slow to get going, whimper of a finish. Amon's reveal was OK, but nothing in comparison to Azula.
The action scenes were nice, but nothing else was particularly memorable.
I'll need a few days to digest it and reflect on it, but right now I'm left with a sour taste.
An aside prediction: I think in terms of narrative flow and character development, Korra will indeed lose her bending at the end of Book One. Book Two will definitely be Spirit. Gut feeling.
Great ep.
...but the intro...wtf did they do that for?! THE INTRO WAS EPIC AND PERFECT!
With all the chi-blocking the rock armor could finally be useful.
It shows how much Zuko sucks at fire bending.Everyone and their grandma being able to lightning bend annoys me. But here we have people using it for menial tasks.
I mean yeah, I get it. Advanced bending discipline like metal and lightning would become easier to learn as time passes...it just feels like all the struggles to learn this in the first series is trivialized.
Reminds me of Trunks and Goten being super saiyans and pissing off Vegeta.
Wait... yeah what the fuck could the equalists do against rock armor?
Though maybe you cant attack while covered in the armor. So it would just be a stalemate.
Couldnt you still earthbend while being in the rock armor?
Amon is Aang
Loving the series so far.
I can finally officially post this:

Dance off!

They don't only do chiblocking. They have those lightning rods and other weapons.

Maybe Amon is the firebender that killed the brothers' parents. Aang, as his punishment, attempted to take away his bending but lost the "battle of wills" and died, all the while inadvertenly giving Amon the ability to energybend.
It's got off to such a better start than the original series that I'm almost afraid it can't possibly hold...
It bothers me there too! I dont know why, I shouldnt let it.Isn't that how it is nowadays? We have kids knowing stuff that not even adults knew back in the day. 12 year old kids knowing stuff that only the smartest of scientists knew 100 years ago.

Well its shorter and all the eps are written by the creators themselves so it should be interesting to see if it can.
Everything breaks rock in Avatar.they probably have a weapon for breaking rock as well
We know Bolin isn't like that, but the Equalists do not.
For all we know the leader of the TTT (who was mutilated first) donates half his extortionist profits to orphanages.

Yeah I'm not a fan of everyone and their momma being able to lightning bend. It cheapens it, whereas before it was a sign of being an elite firebender.
It shows how much Zuko sucks at fire bending.
the equalists are some of the most formidable 'standard goons' I've ever seen. These guys are genuinely dangerous. In most other shows goons are just stand-ins for the main character to do cool shit on, but in this show you get the feeling that there is danger there and that one false move could spell disaster. The choreography really drives the point home.
Assuming TTT is doing that, that still doesn't change the fact that he is extorting other people's money, which is still a crime and has been doing this for a long time without regret.
But bolin, again, as bad as it may look, the equalists have no proof that he was abusing his power in any way. I doubt they saw the exchange happen in the streets. For all they knew, Bolin could have happened to walk by, saw an old friend, and made some conversation when they attacked him. The equalists have no cause to suspect him of anything beyond the fact that he was a bender and happened to be in the wrong area.
Which sucks for Bolin.
It says nothing positive about your character if you are friends with and continue to associate with gang members.
And given Bolin's reaction before the cash was flashed, he knew damn well it was a seedy job that he shouldn't have been doing.

It always depends on the circumstances. Bolin knew that doing the job could mean trouble, but he chose to do it anyway because he was fixated on the money. That's what brought him into the situation, which is why it was his fault to some extent. It sucks for victims of any crime. People who got robbed or beaten or killed, it sucks for all of them. Each and every one of them could have probably done something to prevent what happened to them. Does that mean they are to be blamed for those crimes happening to them?
if this series is as good as it's been (or somehow gets better), then i'm blindly following these guys into whatever future endeavors they take on.
I agree on this, especially the choreography. They really stepped up there game there even more.
Also, I think it shows that Korra still has a lot to learn about being in real fights. Same goes for our bending brothers, they were just doing their pro-bending styles and it didn't do them any favours in an open terrain fight. They all were overwhelmed so easily.
Just saw the third episode. It was great. I already really love this show.
But I am starting to regret watching this week by week. I want to see the next episode already! 20 minutes is hardly enough time. ._.
Maybe I'll wait a few weeks and then marathon watch.

I wonder if they remember enough of it though and would it be difficult to revert.
Yep, steam is only water after all.Did Korra control the steam?
... Bolin did something wrong. He was serving as 'security' for a known bad gang when another gang came to take them on. That's not at all comparable to a robbery victim. It sucks for victims of any crime. People who got robbed or beaten or killed, it sucks for all of them. There's a difference between being in the wrong place at the wrong time by pure circumstance, and knowingly going to the wrong place at the wrong time in order to bring in $$$.

And also, why does it matter if he is abusing his power or not? In the eyes of the equalists, every bender is obsolete.

If I have a suit made of 100 dollar bills and I walk into a dark alley in a bad neighborhood, I may be unbelievably stupid for doing so, but when I inevitably get mugged, it's the muggers who are the criminals there, not me.
There is no evidence they were doing anything illegal at the time that Bolin was with them, and even if they were, Bolin was under the impression that they weren't.
It doesn't matter. If you go work for the mob as security then don't act surprised if you get shot at.There is no evidence they were doing anything illegal at the time that Bolin was with them, and even if they were, Bolin was under the impression that they weren't.
Maybe they never learnt a lot of "real" bending? I guess im could be possible that most of their experienc eis in pro-bending?
