Yeah, but I was just thinking that it could be a gameplay reveal. Then I just realized that we already saw a bit of gameplay of TLG a while back. Nevermind, then, haha. We aren't ever going to guess what this new game is since we probably haven't even heard about it.

What bullshit? GT's has had some decent reveals like Vanquish and Last of Us. Last was the last thing he hyped and was actually worth it.

And why is that? Sony jumped the gun unveiling it so long ago, but they specifically said exclusive, so it's time-exclusive at the least knowing Rockstar
When it gets unveiled, PS3 will be the only platform announced
I like your use of the term "yielded" as if Naughty Dog threatened not to complete development if Spike didn't hype it enough.
Considering even Tretton isn't saying it's exclusive, it most likely won't be.

No, MS gave them an interest free loan of 50M like five years ago, which secured the timed exclusive rights to GTA4 DLC. Sony gave Rockstar LA Noire.

Oh, thanks. So I guess agent was like the payback or something. I wonder how much Sony initally invested into LA:N. If agent is no longer exclusive I wonder if Sony was just screwed out of the deal

Rumours put the cost at the time Sony dropped it around $40M.
That's my memory of it, I can't be bothered to google it though.
I imagine that the whole LA: Noire/Agent/R*/Sony deal was more than just a handshake and a wish. R* likely owes them Agent, or the amount of money Sony sunk into LA Noire back. Not a multi-platform game and no money. But I guess only R*/Sony would know that.

I think Sony traded Agent exclusivity for stuff like Exclusive LA Noire DLC, the Bioshock 1 free with Infinite bundle and the ps3 exclusive hat in Red Dead Redemption.
Maybe they will also have something exclusive in GTA5. A lot of Take 2 and rockstar games have released with some small exclusive thing for ps3. I bet this was because of Agent.
Trading a exclusive game that wont be out for years for exclusive content in bunch of games that will actually be released soon? I see why it might have happened.
Which was extremely expensive then. FFXII came out in '06 with the budget at $50M.
I think an article in Game Informer said it was the most expensive game of all time.
It was worth it.
They also had some exclusive Mafia 2 DLC, yeah, seems very possible.

I'm guessing that was the whole ballad to gay tony thing MS scored. I remember there was some timed exclusive stuff after the release of GTA4. Basically I give you 50 million, you give me leverage with GTA fans
YIKES!!! That's a huge money pit. I don't know how Rockstar could give them nothing for that. The Last Guardian isn't even estimated to cost that much...
They call it an 'advance' in that second article, which if it means like it does in the film/music industries, it's an advance on return, meaning you don't make money on your product until you've made over the amount you had in the advance. Not strictly a loan, but not free money.

That does make sense. I wasn't aware of all those 'small' exclusives. But even taking them into account and even something in GTA5 $40 million is such a high figure. That's like 3 AAA releases.

I was thinking more along the lines of 2 $10 million games with $10 million marketing pushes but went with 3 for dramatic effect!

I don't know. I doubt all that content is worth anywhere near the amount owed to Sony. I think Take 2 just ended up paying Sony the amount, since they're in a far better financial situation than they were when they first made the deal.

It seems unlikely there is going to be a Vita version since the Superbot site only mentions an unannounced PS3 game.
Unless another studio is porting it. One can hope.

Can someone explain to me why Sushei Yoshida's tweet to Geoff pretty much confirms it's PlayStation Battle Royale and not possibly any other PS3 exclusive?
Don't get me wrong, I've been hoping for a game like this since forever and it's definitely what I want the announcement to be, I'm just not connecting the dots like you guys are right now.
