Shuttle is fantastic. Lovely looking set when built, lots of stuff built in (satellite in cargo bay etc)

Fire brigade is going OOP now, so that will go first.

Saw the marvel sets in a local toy store just now. I think the smaller sets are a little meh - the jeep is cute but nothing that special. The quinjet looks really nice though - big, a nice shape to it, and lots of minifigs.

Went to the Bluegrass Brick Jamboree in Northern Kentucky yesterday. It's a smaller gathering but the set ups people had there were quite impressive. Here's a link to the pictures we took, there are over 100. (sorry about the blurry ones)

My favorite was the mini city (its the last few pics)

I'll be out today looking for the Batman Funhouse Escape and the Wolverine sets. Wish me luck!

Also, it looks like I'll be rebuilding a good portion of my daughter's Millennium Falcon since it took a spill :P

Some great stuff here! The Hunger Games, that big cylindrical tower, the Hulk at the Hampton Inn, the airport are my favorites.

The Geonosis battle is pretty cool too.

Ok here's version 2.0 of my ghostbusters torsos, I have been busy with my son's naming ceremony so I haven't had a chance to do the slimed version yet, I'll probably leave that until I've done the faces.

I know the Funhouse set is exclusive to TRU, along with their bullshit $10 markup, but is the set the rarest of the new Batman line? I noticed that it's sold out on Lego.com

Well, no place around me had it so I may have to make the trip TRU. I came home and hit the Lego site and found out, like you said, they are out of stock. Bummer. I still can't find the wolverine helicopter set either!

Tonight I'm putting together the Quinjet and Hulk breakout sets while watching Iron Man 2 with the wife. Good times ahead!

SO TEMPTED to buy the Midi Falcon. The scale, the colours, the density of pieces and detail... For me, it is the epitomy of stellar design and the aesthetic charm of Lego. And I don't even like Star Wars. Does that make it wrong!?

how much?

Found it on eBay in Australia for around $95, shipped. Sure, it ain't cheap for what it is, but that seems to be the best price I can find. And that was the last one! Sorry, bro. Unless you're an American, then you can just get one anywhere else for cheaper :(.

Or just bricklink the set. It doesnt look like it has anything too rare in it.

Yeah, that probably would have been significantly more cost effective, but I'm lazy and a massive sucker when it comes to quicker shipping and whatnot. Nonetheless:

Scrumptuous.

I hope I don't bungle the stickers.

I looked around in my area, and it's that same price

I bought a new fun iPhone app called Strip Designer. It lets you design comic book style frames on your iOS device. Here is my first attempt:

The text is a meme from The Comedy Button podcast.

It's definitely a fun little app that has tons of features for making little frames.

I got the architecture series yesterday. Put this one together

Definately going to get the Robie House and Farnsworth house ones!

And I would kill if they sold this one!

White House is supposed to be a really cool build, and not too expensive either. Good price per brick ratio.

And I have been playing with Lego Digital Designer the last hour. I was first making plans to make a Lego Theater, but it was going to have to be four baseplates large. 2x2. That way I could get enough seats to be somewhat realistic, but also have the area large enough to slap an iPad in there to act as the movie screen. Then I planned on adding a ticket booth, concessions and a projection room. At least in my head. It was tough starting that in LDD.

Instead I started working on my idea for a modular bar or tavern. Only one baseplate, and allows me a bit more flourish on the inside and out.

RqnZtl.png

Only a start, and simple so far. Trying to figure out how to add a stage for a band inside one corner, as well as a bar and a few stools. Then stairs to go to a second floor that I plan on being just a balcony along the perimeter of the building. Then just add a skylight for a roof or something. But the stage for a band is definitely something I want to add in.

I don't expect much, but now that I am getting the hang of the program, I can see myself getting addicted.

Unfortunately its 2.99

There is another one that doesnt seem to have quite as many features but probably achieve a very similar result called Halftone:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/halftone/id419957803?mt=8

Let me know what one you get. If you get halftone I'd love impressions as I still might buy it as well.

Thanks. Might just stick to using Photoshop for adding bubbles and whatnot. I always have a bitch of a time loading stuff to imgur direct from the phone.

Also, are those apps universal? Like I can use iPad optimized versions?

I know Strip Designer is universal, not sure on halftone. I wish I had an iPad as I think it would be awesome to use on there!

Where are you located, Darkwing? There's a few of them in the States for around 70USD, but the shipping kills it for me (anywhere from 40-50USD).

I'm in the Philippines where the prices for lego sets are like 2x to 4x the price in the US lol I just use other methods of shipping, but it takes like 2 months to arrive lol

that MIDI falcon looks so good, the MIDI star destroyer is like $100 here too

Ah, balls. I know that feel, bro. The star Destroyer is rad, too, but it's a bit bland in comparison. The splashes of red on the Falcon are great and I just find it to be a much cooler looking vessel.

We need price parity, Lego!

I got the midi falcon for £30 but I don't know what the actual price is, the sticker originall said £37 and it had been marked down. Would love the Star Destroyer to go with it but I guess it's OOP :/

Man it's been a week since I bought LEGO, must resist going to pick up more today...

I bought the Technic Jet (9394) over the weekend. It's on sale at Argos for £24.99. Not normally one for sets that aren't cars but the finished model looks awesome and has a healthy wingspan.

Also bought the log cabin. It's a bit meh. I don't know why I buy buildings, I'm always unsatisfied when I finish them.

Nice. When did you score that? It's going for 75USD and £69 on the respective Amazon websites, so I think I've done pretty well. Can't wait!

Just this time last week. Think I may go pick up some more figures after this lecture, still need the space marine.

Looks good, just make sure to make a few extra, water decals are tricky and at mini figure size perfect alignment will be harder.

Looking promising so far, only tip I can offer is to build the floor's in separate files, as the LDD can be a bit of trouble the higher you build, and then put them together when your done.

I forget, have you gotten any modulars yet, or Tower Bridge? If not, those are very satisfying buildings to construct. Tower Bridge just for the sheer size of the thing.

Thank you. I was wondering how to go about keeping them separate in LDD. The trick will be lining everything up. Thank you for the advice.

Also: the "export to Lego.com" option; does that add all the pieces to pick a brick or something? I am wondering how it gives me an inventory of pieces needed, if it does at all. I am assuming it does.

Will do, I've never worked with water decals before so it's all new to me, I've got an 5 A4 pages of them to use minifigures don't use much of that.

I'm looking forward now and trying to think of something else to make to make the most of a print of A4, I was thinking of maybe doing the 3 amigos, brickwarrior custom lego parts has some black sombreros, some brown ones too I could even make el guapo, or a plethora of el guapos!

Nah, I've helped a friend build 2 modulars and the bridge though. Buildings just don't do it for me. Of my 30-odd sets, all but three (log cabin, lighthouse & Technic Jet 9394) are cars. I'm obsessed with 'em.

I'd kill for LEGO to do a series of classic cars. There have been the odd one or two, but no decent 'ranges'.

where from?

Fenwicks in Newcastle. I didn't even know it existed until I saw it last week. Wouldn't be surprised if Toys 'r' Us has it too, really wanna go over to TRU at some point and have a look.

Picked up some more figz, grabbed the final 2 I want from S7 (not a full set, just the ones I wanted) also grabbed a couple from S3 that I like the look of. Fairly easy to bag feel these, especially the Aztec Warrior; his head is HUGE. I still need the clockwork robot from S6, my most wanted figure ATM, next time I see a box of S6s I won't stop until I'm sure I have it.

I built the Quinjet last night while my wife built the Hulk escape set. It took her about 2hrs and 15 minutes to complete hers but the Quinjet was more like 4 for me. It's awesome. I would put the difficulty and detail up there with the latest Mellenium Falcon, which is probably my most favorite Lego build.

The Lego Avengers all look great together. The Hulk is really a stand out though. I'm so glad I bought these sets!

Here are some finished build shots. There are a lot of points of interest with this set. I tried to show them all. It's really much larger than I was expecting as well.
