If its the one i think it is, a long time ago the voice actor for that character claimed they were gonna return as a relative of sorts. Maybe it was actually the character itself at that time or it was eventally changed.

Theoretically an extremely subtle and accurate lightning bender can stimulate the pleasure centers of your brain.

Incoming "mindbreakingbending".

Yeah, Katara was pretty ashamed to use it (aside from when she was crazy with rage), I can't imagine she would want to pass along the knowledge herself. Hama could possibly have spread the news, but the only ones who would be close would be fire nation jailors.

it's something born of desperation, so it's possible but I think the gaang would rather it be forgotten.

Though there's a chance that it may be rediscovered, I have difficulty imagining a situation where a talented Waterbender is so desperate as to bend blood.

It's only useful during a full moon anyhow. I really hope they don't go back to it. Let's get some new plot points please.

I'd like to see Korra, of all people, invent some air bending variants.

I posted the picture, but I didn't post that commentary (and I didn't see it at the place where I found the picture) - I think the speculation about the chakra points and illusion and that somehow preventing bending in a deeper way that normal chi-blocking would on a more long-term and possibly permanent, in the sense that it wouldn't fix itself automatically (as in normal chi-blocking), basis.

I know there was talk about the Amon pressure point, but I didn't catch it about the other stuff.

In any case, it's all very interesting. Stuff like that makes me love the Avatar fanbase.

She just might. She's the first airbender that we'll see who wasn't indoctrinated with air nomad teaching since birth. Maybe she'll find some more offensive uses for it.

This is sort of a minor thing, but why did Korra (and everyone else really) so readily believe that Amon could permanently take away bending? They know about chi blocking first hand so I would have thought they would be a little hesitant to believe that it was permanent despite the flashy show with the firebender.

She's a raging hypocrite.

Korra's hands travel Faster then light now.

Because it would be incredibly easy to verify if it was permanent. Amon used a very well known target. Word would easily get out the second the leader of the Triple Threats could bend again.

I think everyone is confident that it is permanent, because Amon used such a high profile target.

What are the chances there will be a bloodbender in this series or an episode about bloodbending...?

I would laugh my butt off if they introduced bloodbending again only to show Amon and his crew have some magical counter to that too so the writers can sweep it under the proverbial rug and not have to mention it again.

It would be cool if bloodbending shut down all the regular Equalists, but then Korra tries to bloodbend Amon and it doesn't work. And then she'll be all like "whhhhaaaaat?" and Amon will take off his mask and reveal that he is a spirit/Koh.

"I HAVE NO BLOOD TO BEND! MAKE YOUR TIME, YOU CANNOT SURVIVE!"

There also is no need for a magical counter. Just hide like crazy during the full moon.

i can already see all the horrible shipping that will go on in dark corners of the internets.

Bolinora exists. I have now broken your mind.

I disagree. The old lady and Katara are the only ones who knew it, and I highly doubt Katara taught it to anyone.

Well with the increase in technology, the state of scientific knowledge has also increased, so the fact that animals are mostly water will become common knowledge and all it will take is a curious waterbender to rediscover blood bending.

Korra learns the reverse of Amon's power and gives bending to everyone.

That's really the only solution.

As long as bending is an exclusive power, the Equalists will be right. Benders have power over normals, and benders have always been the rulers of every nation. It really is unfair.

Either all benders must lose their powers or all people must become benders for equality to be achieved. Since Amon taking away bending is the bad guy, the answer will be giving everyone bending.

I don't even think the idea of taking away all bending powers is a bad one. We've seen how benders actually do oppress non-benders. The world might be better off if nobody had this huge power over anyone else.

Earth King Kuei wasn't a bender as far as I can tell.

Lung popping. Breath Stealing. ???

MAn would an evil air bender be awesome.

I totally agree with Net_wrecker. Amon's response is too extreme. They should follow Aangs example. He took away Ozai's bending, but only because Ozai was extremely abusive with it. If benders abuse their power the way that those Triad criminals have, and Amon found a way to stop that, once and for all, fine. But Bolin did NOTHING. He's completely innocent, and yet he still somehow deserves to be spiritually mutilated? No. If the people you are dealing out retributive justice to are innocent, then it's not justice.

Bolin was employed by the Triple Threat Triad at the time. He was about to do something criminal.

were they based on his actions or is he emulating them after the fact?

i hope its the former.

On the one of the Avatar DVDs (hell if I can remember which) they show various examples of them basically acting out scenes for the animators, so I imagine it's basically the same thing here.

I'd have to see the original post to know, though.

And a follow-up:

So yeah, it was used as a reference for the animators.
