I'm really looking forward to that Ultimate Spider-Man set they're doing. I loved the Spider-Man 2 sets back in the day, so new Spidey and Doc Ock figures sound pretty great.

I ordered the midi scale Star Destroyer last night because of all the midi Falcon talk.

It's got more pieces and is like half the price, so I decided to nix my minifig-scale only rule, just this once!

I've been digging more of my old sets out of storage. This weekend my daughter & I put together an airport. This is easily the most complex set she's done (she's 5) so I was impressed. It's funny how much better the manuals are these days. The old ones had a lot of ambiguity.

I really need to get rid of that Christmas globe. It's April.

Also: the "export to Lego.com" option; does that add all the pieces to pick a brick or something? I am wondering how it gives me an inventory of pieces needed, if it does at all. I am assuming it does.

The export to Lego.com option just adds your design to lego.com, for a piece list you have to generate a building guide, and then generate the HTML guide, the last page of the HTML guide has the parts list.

Ooooh I had that one back in the days :D You couldn't close that stupid jet as long as somebody in there was wearing a hat I think.

A huge and brutish simple-minded creature that lives in the Mines of Moria.
The Cave-troll is 2-3 times taller than men. Surprisingly fast for a creature of that size. It keeps away from the rest of the world, hidden in the constant darkness of the Mines of Moria. Its eye sight is very poor, so it uses its sense of smell to find its way in the dark. It does not know good from evil and will attack anything that wanders into its lair. Note: cannot be defeated by a frying pan.

It also doesn't close unless the minifigs have their left arms raised.

It's funny how the scale changes...I remember this set as being huge when I was a kid.

They look like they're in pretty good condition apart from the dust, my pieces from the early 80s early 90s are all kinds of fucked up.

I got the 3 figures from series 7 that I really wanted at Toys R Us. I might pick up some more marines cause they are awesome.

I got lucky and they had this guy as well.

I'm not quite as creative as PhoncipleBone is with his Deadpool pictures but Strip Designer is fun to mess around with that's for sure!

Hmm. The more pics I see you post from that app, the more inclined I am to get it. And thank you for the praise. I do need to take more Deadpool pics.

Oh, man. I have been a retail slave my entire life, but applied to work at the Lego offices in CT a few weeks ago on a whim. Just had my first phone interview this morning. Super excited and super nervous as well. Doing my normal thing of "OMG I messed that up big time!" that I always do after an interview. The HR person said she would let me know in a week or so if I needed to come in for a face to face interview.

So frakkin' nervous. Never had an office job or anything like that, but so scared and excited about the prospect of leaving the uncertainty of retail for a stable job.

Good luck man! It wouldn't hurt to show them some of your LEGO pics.

It is for a creative manager position. Perhaps if I have a face to face interview I can show them the inappropriate pictures I have taken of the Lego mini figs doing things. Err...maybe not.

Awesome, Good luck with that :)

Good luck with the position, the hivemind hopes you get it. LEGO-GAF needs one of us on the inside!

Yeah, if you want purple pants you are going to be stuck with this:

At least until they do another Hulk set, which I don't think will be too long down the road, since they've already made the mold.

Moop on Eurobricks did a far better version of Incredible Hulk #181 than my slapdash attempt.[/QUOTE]
That's awesome. Had the reprint comic when I was a kid, so that really brings back memories.

Good luck, man! What does a "creative manager" do anyway? Seems like a contradiction in my work experience.

Good luck man, I know the feeling. I had an interview with Blizzard back in December and it definitely didn't go as I would have liked. Oh well I will try again in a few years.

What's the position for exactly?

Tesco have stopped selling series 6 minifigures now! Rage! There was one left in the series 7 box. Felt a square block, knew it was the robot. Got on it like a car bonnet!

I don't think I'll ever get my two Romans now, not paying £5 each!

It is for D2C Creative Visual. Basically seems like helping the marketing department in getting displays out to stores and giving input on creative visual displays for the product. It seems a bit vague, but I have been in retail merchandising for over 15 years, so I know how to put together a display. Actually got to be the training manager for a certain department in the old district I worked in. I was only at the company a few months but the DM liked what I was doing that he had me training all new managers in that position and help set up new stores as well.

Sounds like you'd be a good fit then. I hope you get it man!

I'm not sure we will.

There's another Marvel set coming out for the Ultimate Spiderman tv series, and then I think that's it for this year. I'm hoping we get another wave later on though with some DC batvillains like Scarecrow and Marvel with more Xmen though.

Photobomb incoming

So remember the used ebay bought white car had a few pieces missing I sent the seller a list of missing parts and he found them all and sent them to me so it's now complete :)

My car collection is growing...

As is my plane collection
I just could not resist getting the yellow propeller plane today ^^

And as noted in a previous page, they are slightly different models.

I actually prefer the triangular chestpiece Iron Man armor to the one I've got, but I've already got a Hawkeye and two Lokis, so I don't think I can bring myself to buy that set. The car isn't quite cool enough to double up on so many figures.

Oh crap yeah he's got the triangular chest thing on the car set. Fuck I want the circular one but I ain't spending £70.

Glad i waited until now on this set!

Time for my regular harassment of GAFfers to get the modular buildings if they have not already. I was totally against almost all Town and buildings until I got my first taste with Fire Brigade, and now I am stuck forever.

Wanting to spend a lot but not on a modular? The Star Wars Imperial Shuttle is a fantastic display piece. As are all the newest ships: TIE Fighter (ok build, fantastic display), Y-Wing (fun build, good display), and X-Wing (fan-frakking-tastic build and good display). The newest Millenium Falcon is a fantastic build as well, and looks great when done. You also get lots of figures.

I'm a fan of this plane set. You can have your superhero minifigures piloting it and battling against the Quinjet.
