I'm a fan of this plane set. You can have your superhero minifigures piloting it and battling against the Quinjet.

Or Hulk smashing it. I can't wait to get the big Hulk figure so that I can have him smashing EVERYTHING!

Glad i waited until now on this set!

LEGO Super Heroes The Batcave 6860 for $50.00 even sold by amazon.com

Bought!

So, in summation:
The sets I have currently bought durring my recent LEGO binge. Contemplating more sets :) Ideas welcome! Superheroes not a must. I already plan on getting the ultimate spidey set(s) and at least some of the upcoming LotR.
* LEGO Hulk Helicarrier Breakout 6868
* LEGO Quinjet Aerial Battle 6869
* LEGO Super Heroes The Batcave 6860
* LEGO Super Heroes Catwoman Catcycle City Chase 6858
* LEGO Super Heroes Superman Vs Power Armor Lex 6862
* LEGO Captain Americas Avenging Cycle 6865
* LEGO Wolverine Chopper Showdown 6866

I won't be picking up LEGO Cosmic Cube Escape 6867 since it offers nothing new other than a variant Iron Man and a truck (which is a nice looking truck, but still)
I don't have any of those sets but looking at them, they look more like sets to play with. If that's your thing, I think you would appreciate the Alien Conquest line. I would start with the Earth Defense Headquarters. i only bought it because it was on sale and I figured I could use it for other things but ended up ordering a few other sets. Had to get the Mothership and Abduction sets to give the aliens a fighting chance. Also got the Jet Copter Encounter, and may get the Tripod too. Shit, I might as well since that's the only "big" set I'm missing at this point. Not going to get the smaller ones, not worth the cost per piece ratio.

Oh and I think it is going OOP this year, or so I read in this thread.

I bought the Ninjago Blade Cycle. This set is a pretty complex build compared to other sets in it's price range. Half the frame is Technic pieces. I can image little kids getting frustrated and getting their parents to build it.

Here's a pic of Deadpool riding it:

Here's a pic of it "transforming":

AC is going OOP as we speak. HQ is gone from LEGO S@H, Mothership is "call for availability" which means it is almost done, and the smallest set has been gone for a while.

Lots of B&N stores seem to have lots of stock of the Alien Conquest stuff if anyone is looking for other places to get it.

Yep, now is the time for deals as stores clear those sets out. Walmart especially likes the unannounced unmarked 50% off sales that are at the store's discretion.

Next up: PotC

They should keep at least the PotC ships around. Everyone needs a good pirate ship.

Modulars are great but they suck up money. I'm glad I'm almost caught up as then it's only one or two a year. I think they'll stay mostly built so I don't have to worry too much about where the hell all those loose bricks would go. (famous last words until I start to 'borrow' parts here and there for other things)

That is the only issue with modulars: catching up. But once you are caught up (I am not), then it is only a once a year investment.

WOOOO CLOCKWORK ROBOT! Now I have my most wanted figure I'm happy. Still plenty I want from series 6 though, such a good series.

I'm happily ignoring Market street (don't like it) but somewhat tempted by green grocer. Not got town hall yet and still unsure of that one but its inevitable. Otherwise I'm up to speed. Nearly finished the Pet shop build with my son, then just my bricklinked Cafe corner. Not looking forward to that so much, as its basically a bucket full of loose bricks with no organisation, and a dodgy pdf of the instructions. Had enough trouble with the printed pet shop - browns are really tricky when there are lots together - the black lines between bricks get lost.

It's even worst when the bricks are black. I had a terrible time building the UCS Batmobile with PDF instructions. Some pages were just a glob of black. I had to rely on LDD files to finish it up.

Where does one find LEGO rumors and leaks?

I aggregate a lot of news from a bunch of LEGO fan sites, via RSS feeds (if available), Twitter, etc. Some forums, like Eurobricks or FBTB can be very helpful, especially if you become familiar with the key personalities on them (just like GAF). Every so often I will get some info via PM from people I know.

Most the info is out there, it just takes time to sift through it all.

Yeah, mixed black and dark grey is a nightmare. On a recent set (either pet shop or possibly cool cruiser), the black pieces were outlined in white to differentiate them. Not bad, but they could do more. I also have problems with differentiating trans-orange/yellow/red and silver grille tiles (lego try and put a little 'sparkle' on them but it just looks like a printing error)

Around our house he is known as Lego-gobot and he is prone to both rap and dance.

We also got the Minotaur which scared/intrigued my seven year old so I had to explain to her that it's a mythological creature. I went on Wikipedia to show her and read the story, forgetting that the Minotaur is the result of a queen and a divine white bull getting busy. When the queen commissions Daedelus to construct a a wooden cow for the queen to climb into I wanted to bail out but my daughter forced me to read the rest of the story. Awk-ward!

Anyone who is interested in the upcoming Monster Fighters theme, there is a clever little 3 minute video on the new microsite here that sets up the backstory and shows us a bit of the as-yet-unseen Zombies set.

I think I'm going to have to buy every one of those sets! I like how each one has a piece of the gem or whatever. Pretty clever and I must have them all!

I'm three sets short of completing the AC line. Mothership 7065, Tripod 7051, and Defender 7050. I've spent a lot on Lego lately... debating on whether or not to snatch these up soon.

I really hope there's a battle pack of zombies, or that the graveyard set is like a $20-$30 set with 3-4 zombies. There are lots of people out there dying to build an army of lego zombies, including me :P

Edit: Looks like it http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/9465_The_Zombies

Building QF45 Sarigar. It's ridiculous how it all fits together. Will post work in progress picture.

The one thing I just realized about this model that's kind of annoying is that certain four big parts seem to be hanging onto the main ship body fixed on a literally single stud each... This is probably going to be something that I build and put behind the glass, never to let anyone touch it. If what I'm seeing is true, even careful handling by a grownup would easily break it apart, which is really kind of a bummer.

See these four white wing panels on top and bottom? Those seem to be fixed just by that one stud behind the silver round 1x1 plate. The other stud behind other silver piece on that panel has nothing to attach to.

SCORE! Just stopped by Toys R Us and grabbed 8 series 7 figs. Had all different ones except I wound up with two bunny suit guys. Will post pics when I get home.

Just finished the pet shop. I built the town house and my son built the shop. Was a nice build over a few evenings. I think it might be my favourite modular. Although both are quite compact, with limited room inside, that makes for a simple build and I just like the architecture. Perhaps it helps that I used to live in a house much like the brown townhouse.

That's a shame. I guess it's the luck of the draw with other peoples' MOCs. It'd be nice if they could highlight any caveats like this though - especially when they provide instructions

Stop by my TRU on my lunch and picked up the Batman jet ski model and two series 7 figures. I felt up those bags just right and scored the Space Marine & Hippy! I'll post pics tonight after I assemble them.

but the LOTR

Exactly. Helms Deep will be like 120$ (-> prolly 120€) which is a pretty good deal for the piece count / minifigs, much better pricing than the Star Wars stuff it seems. I guess the LOTR series might be a 'toy' series I'll actually collect. The Moria and Gandalf sets look amazing, Helms Deep and Weathertop look pretty cool and all of them will be mine some day. MINE.

Can't wait D:

I know that LOTR, Marvel/DC Super Heroes, and Star Wars are the hotness for Lego. But I really think they're knocking it out of the park with their original themes.

Alien Conquest is/was amazing and Monster Fighters looks to continue that trend.

The Dino stuff is not bad. The sets are decent, but the dinos themselves are ace.

I think I'm going to be just buying more and more minifigs from new sets than buying complete sets, there's no way I can keep up. I want those zombies and the new ghosts in the train and apart from the bowler hat guy none of the other minifigs and sets interest me.

I've got 5 zombies lying around from series 1 collectible minifigures and about 5 hazmat dudes just waiting for that modular sized haunted house, I must own it.

Also for those collecting series 7 minifigures, taken from this tread on eurobricks is the probability and distribution numbers for each box of 60 (all boxes are identical)

Below is the combination which I have received from my box,

3 Swimming Champions
3 Aztec Warriors
3 Bunny Suit Guys
3 Brides
3 Ocean Kings
4 Bagpipers
4 Daredevils
5 Galaxy Patrols
4 Tennis Aces
5 Jungle Boys
4 Hippies
4 Computer Programmers
4 Valkyries
5 Evil Knights
3 Rocker Girls
3 Grandma Visitors

High probability
1) Galaxy Patrols
2) Jungle Boys
3) Evil Knights
Total range: 25%
Each: 8.33%

Medium probability
1) Bagpipers
2) Daredevils
3) Tennis Aces
4) Hippies
5) Computer Programmers
6) Valkyries
Total range: 40%
Each: 6.67%

Low probability
1) Swimming Champions
2) Aztec Warriors
3) Bunny Suit Guys
4) Brides
5) Ocean Kings
6) Rocker Girls
7) Grandma Visitors
Total range: 35%
Each 5%

So the guy who just got the 2 bunnies did well, there's only 3 per box.
I've previously been buying boxes of each series and selling off sets, but this time I found a guy in germany selling complete sets for AUD$38 plus postage so I've ordered 7 complete sets. 1 for myself, 1 for my daughter and the rest to sell, selling the remaining should just pay for the 2 sets I'll be keeping for myself.

Where have you been ordering full boxes from?

Interesting to see the space marine is one of the most common as he is apparently the most popular according to one toy shop we asked.

Also those monster hunter figures look pretty funky. Also cool to see parts from the collectable minifigs make their way into proper sets.
