Anyone else watching Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire right now?

yep i caught it. it was such a treat, but i was wondering "why?" the whole time. then the 25th anniversary special came on and i was like "ohhh ok"

90's fox ruled. they had some of the greatest shows ever. they also didn't have to much pride to pick up syndication packages from other networks' best shows

It's one of the best episodes. So many good lines and it's a pretty serious episode at the same time

I love the scene with this song especially where Lisa says "You're in love with a girl called Mindy...or a guy called Andy"

I know they've always had alcoholism and smoking but heavy drugs is different.

I haven't watched the new ones at all, but I do remember seeing the one where Bart gets hooked on or is prescribed (or something like that) ritalin or adderall, talking about "poppin' and sailin'" or some shit. Fucking woeful.

So when do we think this show will finally wrap up?

I'm hoping around season 25 because it's a nice milestone, it's obvious the show was
getting worse as it progressed, but these really recent episodes have been terrible.

Would be fine with a good Simpsons movie every few years if the TV show does end.

And I'd pickup the complete box set in an instant, no matter the price.

One of those lines that I probably heard 50 times before finally being old enough to understand what it meant. My naive little brain was never able to make sense of why they were in bathrobes.

[edit] It was probably more like 20 times and then 30 times where I could have understood it, but was so accustomed to the original, innocent interpretation (they're in bath robes because it's the morning and they just came from home) that I completely neglected the fact that they said "brothel".
