Captain America movie sequel set for 2014

Thor and Captain America were so bad. . .so no hype for this one.

Why is it that only the Iron Man franchise seem to exhibit any redeeming quality.

The problem with how the sequel looks like it's going to work is that there won't be any real enemies or action that I can think of. I could be wrong of course, but from the interviews, it seems like a "Steve Rogers" movie.

i liked the first one, well the first half of it. hated the second half. they never showed/explained what makes the cap special (besides the serum). they never showed his strategy skills or his skills as a leader. in avengers, he is portrayed in a much better way.

News is that Captain America 2 will take place pretty much right after the events of Avengers, with him trying to find his place in the modern world

Makes sense to do this and give it a full movie. Hopefully it'd be done tastefully and not end up as being a sort of Austin Powers thing.

First half of CA was awesome, one of the best super her origin stories. Second half, not so much.

Also for the love of god.

Use this outfit, caps modern outfit just does not translate to live action.

Perfect. I'll be happy if they give me a couple flashbacks to WWII and let someone important be assassinated by an agent called "Winter Soldier" (just to get that mystery set up).

I've LOVED all of the marvel movies up to this point and am looking forward to Avengers, but I can't see myself getting excited over anything past that.

Thor 2&3, Iron Man 3, CA2 all just sound incredibly forced after Avengers.

How else are you going to setup the Masters of Evil for Avengers 2?

If they are going for a Masters of Evil movie, I wonder what they'll rename them? The name Masters of Evil works for comics, but I don't think it will for movies.

The antagonists should be the serpent society, and at the end he can hook up with diamondback and stop being a creepy virgin.

Robert Downey Jr. You replace him with some other generic, marginal actor like Ryan Reynolds or something as Tony Stark and that series goes nowhere. Same effect as Depp in the Pirates movies. That franchise doesn't exist with any other actor.

I recently saw Captain America and thought it was a really good Marvel movie. Leagues ahead over Thor so I'm down for Captain America sequel.

I think the most interesting part of the news is that it means, without a doubt, that there will be time dedicated to Steve trying to find and reunite with old friends (hint: Peggy) and coming to terms with the fact that everyone he ever loved is either dead or soon-to-be.. I really liked this panel in the comics (graveyard scene in Ultimates), and i'd love to see it executed on the big screen in a meaningful way;

I would be pretty disappointed if Captain America 2 didn't have something to do with Winter Soldier. Considering how Bucky dies in the movie, it wouldn't be particularly difficult to bring him back.

The first one was so BY THE NUMBERS, but still enjoyable.

Chris Evans could have been shirtless a bit more, something to consider for the second movie.

I will go on record, even as a devout Joe Johnston hater, that the first 3/4 of Captain America is probably the best of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The whole recruitment and training up to him becoming Cap and onto his USO days all the way to him rescuing Bucky was all fantastic --well done stuff. Then Johnston's schtick strikes and the last 1/4 of the movie is absolute shit. If they can somehow replicate that first portion of the film and stretch it out for two hours, I'll be there, especially knowing Johnston isn't coming back.

For what it's worth
(nothing really)
, I thought the Captain America movie was leagues better than Thor. Thor being one of the worst comic book movies I've ever seen - maybe not completely in the SM3 and X3 territory but easily the worst of the Avenger hero movies. Iron Man 2 was pretty shitty as well, War Machine's story was garbage. Captain America was great... the ending fell pretty flat but that's it.

First one was Green Lantern/Catwoman/Elektra levels of terrible. Just pure, unadulterated shit. The only Marvel Studios movie I have absolutely no interest in ever watching a sequel to. Thor, while hardly a great film in and of itself, was ten times better.

Thought Captain America was a fairly decent movie. The last bit does kinda fall apart and become weak compared to the rest of the movie but im down to see another especially since the cause of the fall apart wont be involved again.

Origin wise though it was done fantastic for Cap. USO Musical stuff etc was great

hmmm time for AIM/Hydra and way more reverse kicks to the chin. oh and change that costume to an updated version of the first dont use the avengers one, they clearly mashed the commander rogers post dark reign uni with ultimate cap and the helm looks goofy as a result. oh and

winter soldier vs cap DO IT!

Let's hope Evans cycles more this time around. By the end of the first flick he was looking small compared to when he just out of the tank.

YES.

Also, Sin (Red Skull's daughter)

Anyway, as boring as Captain America was, I loved what they did with the sets and props. For all its faults the film had some fantastic art design (some Hydra troops were a bit shitty, though).

Also, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull was some inspired casting. It pisses me off that we won't see more of him.

Eh, I remember Evans saying that he couldn't keep with his grueling training program for too long, so they filmed his shirtless scenes first. He is also balding, apparently, so I'm not sure how he feels about cycling...

yeah i really like the commander rogers outfit, i guess that gonna be secret avengers only. other suit its like they have that helmet/hood design from ultimates...which works but in the avengers movie it looks like a mash up and its like having a hood over a helmet...looks goofy. he takes the hood/helm off and the suit instantly looks better.

I don't really care for this since I thought the first movie was pretty terrible. I'll keep an eye out in hopes of a good director or writer jumping on board.
