The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

That's a terrible argument.

Obviously The Notebook, Twilight, or Transformers don't suck. They're all very popular.

Alright, I agree... Transformers sucks. I've never heard of Twilight or The Notebook.

My point was that Batman told the origin of the Joker and Batman's parents death, and a run-in with the Joker and even if it wasn't a perfect movie masterpiece, it was still a solid film. It wasn't Batman running around in an amateurish Halloween costume and 1950s special effects and bad voice-overs.

It didn't what it had to do - check. Lets move on to another story within Batman universe. Did Batman and Robin and Batman forever suck? Okay, hand it to another director and explain more details about how Bruce Wayne evolved into Batman (This was essentially accomplished by Begins but retelling the death of the parents overlaps Batman). But then Dark Knight reinvents Joker rather than just continuing his development.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills right now with this convo that I'm reading. I shall leave and come back when the new trailer hits.

You appear to just being spouting off the same nonsense even when everyone points out how bad that would be. You are entitled to your opinion, but the movies you wanted would of sucked complete dick. You cannot be in the same continuity of Batman and Robin films and still be a good film. Bat nipples make any argument void.

I envy you

The problem with your argument, however, is that you are assuming that something should not be changed or re-explored (for 30-40 years) if it has already been done. This means whoever is first out the gate with whatever the subject is gets to control future, unrelated endeavors. Even if the original sucked.

I love, love, LOVE Batman. The '89 film is decent, but Nolan gave the character the treatment he deserved. He popularized the darker and grittier Batman. Or the true Batman, if you will. Burton didn't know shit about the character, and the Nolan movies would be so much worse if they were beholden to standards set up by people who didn't know what they were doing

Please read more comics. Read more stories. You clearly don't know what you are talking about.

Joker falling into Chemical Plant is widely accepted because it was adapted into Tim Burton's movie. In Tim Burton's movie, Batman also killed Joker. TDK didn't reinvent anything. It used source material far better than Tim
Burton ever did or ever will. Joker is dead and there is no continuation in Burton's universe.

Read The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween to get a feel of what Joker is all about, and know what the widely accepted origin is: there is no origin. Joker just shows up in Gotham City. He has no backstory and doesn't need one. He has multiple personalities and he himself doesn't know why he is the joker, yet he does know and fools everyone around him, telling a different story to everyone to psychologically fuck with their minds including Batman himself.

Joker died at end of Batman '89. Just throwing that out there.
Easily could have been a double that the Joker created with Chemicals and plastic surgery. Joker could then reappear played by Heath Ledger.

I remember watching the TV series - Awesome. they need to bring back the "Pow", "Smack", etc. That would make for a fun movie.

Add in a bunch of outrageous fighting sequences.

The best Joker origin story is in TDK.

cuz there's no origin story, get it. p.s. the killing joke sux dix.

Both of those ideas sound terrible. :P

210 posts despite trying to avoid getting spoiled.

lulz at DMczaf's 1000+. I guess those fanmade posters don't post themselves!

Ridleyscott you do realize THE JOKER DIED in Batman 1989. It wasn't even vague. He fell off a skyscraper height and landed on his head on the cement. Deader than dead. How could they do a "second run in" with the Joker?

By your logic there would never be another Joker on film for 40 years!

right, bring back batman 16 years after its most popular installment and forget using a lot of his most famous and popular villains because they were already killed off in the previous installments. forget the joker, two-face, penguin. that's a way to get people back in the seats.

ridleyscott, you crazy.

The Killer Moth Cometh!

I doubt the trailer will be posted when all the frames are found. Maybe the poster or something?

LOL! That would be hilarious. All 3000 frames are found and then it unlocks a website that says 'Watch TDKR trailer this Friday with The Avengers!'

They will definitely release the trailer online.
