These shitty pics don't make any sense because people don't know how to pronounce German words in the first place. And HOSPITAL!!! sounds/looks just as aggressive when written in full capse...

The two k's make Krankenhaus a harsher sounding word. It's kind of like the difference between "cunt" and "pussy."

I actually think ladies speaking german is kinda hot.

yeah but that's less about the german and more about the ladies

like what language (other than your native one) doesn't sound hot to you when spoken by ladies?

spanish? Hot.
italian? Hot.
French? Hot.
Japanese? Hot.

True, but Krankenhaus is much more common. It's also what shows up when you enter Hospital in the google translator.

Example of why Krakenhaus is way superior to hospital.

"Baby, you better call 911 cuz I'm taking that ass to the KRANKENHAUS tonight!"

You guys might also find amusement in the fact that Krankenhaus is simply put together from the German words for sick people and house.

Also, the Indian chick I hook up with finds it hilarious when I shout normal stuff at her in Hitler-style German :P

While I don't like the sound of German language, I love how words usually make sense by being a connection of other words, i.e. "Kranken" + "Haus".

Much of the Japanese language is this way as well, and it's awesome.

Den (Electric) + Wa (Voice) = Telephone (telephone itself being two Greek-based words)
Den (Electric) + Sha (Cart) = Train
Den (Electric) + Ki (Spirit) = Electricity

Makes learning the language pretty fun.

Edit: Greek, not Latin. Thanks.

English can be like that too, it just seems less exotic because it's the language we work in.

poorhouse
videogame (though spell check still flags this one, despite common usage)

Telephone is from two Greek words. If you don't know the original words, don't even mention it. Sorry for being rude, but these kind of mistakes always annoy me.

My bad, I knew that.

I took 2 years of Latin in HS so it tends to meld together in my head.

Chill out.

Spoken like a man who has never made a mistake.

Work on your people skills. Sorry for being rude, but it kind of annoys me.

The fact you actually had Latin and still can't tell it from Greek annoys me even more.

Sorry :p

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason we're both annoyed by someone on the internet, because you've got better people skills than I do.

Really though, don't take me too seriously ;)

God damn. You're a real people person, eh?

I know the difference between Latin and Greek, and I mentioned that. I made a mistake. Humans do that. It's also been a few years since I took the classes.

Anyway, not going to get this thread OT any more. Supposed to be a happy thread. :)

If it were a happy thread, there'd be more pictures and less language talk =(
