EGM: Final Fantasy Versus XIII a No Show at E3

Any game that wasn't in the SE e-mail could have been featured in that title.... that's all I'm saying. When was the last time the game was shown?

How big is the development team?, 5 persons?. this should have been the main focus of SE a long time ago, or hire someone to help with the development, jesus.

At this rate it will miss next gen as well.
Look at it this way. Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced before Final Fantasy XII released in North America AND months before the launch of the PS3.
Maybe my memories fuzzy but Versus is perhaps the only game to have been announced for the PS3 before it came out and has yet to surface. And honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Sony got out another console before this vaporware game actually sees the light of day.

13-2 was a downgrade from 13.
They released two Final Fantasy branded games this year alone.
Based on what? The one trailer shown had great gameplay elements. It was fresh.
"Would have sucked anyway" seems like a ignorant statement on something no one on this side of the hemisphere has a lot of information on.

Honestly I don't expect it to come out good if at all.
Not really interested in what Square Enix puts out now. They are such a decaying shell of what they were 10 years ago.
Much more interested in what Cdprojekt and Mistwalker do.

I haven't read news or watched videos of a game since a while. I'll continue my media blackout on the game until it's released

No way. I enjoyed the sequel a lot more than XIII.
Publicly? January 2011. Privately to Famitsu? July 2011.

We all know what happend. The game is already done and ready. 3 Sony execs have seen it already and were submitted to its flawlessness. 2 died instantly after the presentation with their eyes exploding and rapid signs of rigor mortis in the penile area. The third was instutionalized into the Saint Claires mental instution and after resocialization moved on to work at Atari because he knew, there is nothing to be done anymore at Sony.
After realizing what Nomura created Ken Kutaragi resigned and commanded the game to be released on PS4 in 8 years. This was 5 years ago.

SE sucks these days. Yeah, the whole concept behind Versus and the trailer last year are really cool, but the chances of SE actually delivering are slim to none.
With every new year, the expectations for this game only get larger. It's not like the people waiting are sitting in a bubble. They've been playing other games this whole time, other open world type RPGs, so it will take more from Versus to blow people away in 2014+ than it would if it released in 2011.
Technical talent, definitely. But they seem to be missing leadership/management and don't seem to be trying to mature their storylines/gameplay. Seems to regressed in many ways since the late 1990s. Basically they're missing Mistwalker.
If it comes out for PS4 for some reason... I'll be EXTREMELY pissed off.
Honestly, it was the selling point for me buying a PS3. There's been a lot of titles I liked so far on the PS3 but in no way has it gotten the same use as like... my PS2 or PS1 has. =/

But now.... SCREW THIS!
I thought this will be release a year after FFXIII..... then I said a year isn't enough so maybe Dec 2011 for JP and Spring 2012 for NA, but then FFXIII-2 happened and I said of course they don't want to take the spotlight from this game so maybe a year after it.
BUT NOW, I don't think it will be released this holiday season in Japan and earlier next year for NA \ EU...... F**K THIS!
How long it's going to take them to show the game at E3?
If you want to release the game late 2013 or even earlier 2014 fine by me.... I SWEAR IT'S FINE BY ME, but at less show a freaking new footage from time to time to calm us a little.
