Well there's the emo all-black silver-haired is-it-a-he-or-a-she protagonist that sits on a throne with one hand holding up his/her dainty porcelain face all sad and "woe is me, 'tis a dark day for technoland." For one. I remember when they revealed there's an actual world beyond the city with green fields and shit it seemed so out of place given all the glass and grit they had showed prior. I did like the Amano art used in a stained glass window or clock or something in one screenshot. And I suppose it's more thematically cohesive than the futuristic --> prehistoric --> etc melting pot of FFXIII. But meh, getting tired of FF's shtick. All feels the same these days. How?
It looks like most classy and restrained FF game when it comes to designs.
So please explain this.
Bitch, we gettin' Pikmin 3. This E3 needs no savin'.Rockstar: save us from this terrible, terrible E3.
I actually started typing something up but it got too long and was already ridiculous so I scrapped it.We need a list along the lines of the classic 'things that happened whilst DNF was in development' list.
Still pretty sure we'll see a new trailer for this at the Sony conference with a spring 2013 release date at the end. We shall see I suppose.
I really get tired of this complaint. Are people blind or does having long hair really just make anyone look like a girl? I'm not sure how anyone could be confused with Noctis' being a girl or a man. His face is obviously of a young man. Oh noes, he is a bit pretty. Welcome to FF!Well there's the emo all-black silver-haired is-it-a-he-or-a-she protagonist
The character if anything looks annoyed.that sits on a throne with one hand holding up his/her dainty porcelain face all sad and "woe is me, 'tis a dark day for technoland."
This really puts things in perspective. Wow.
Looks emo to me, along with the shots in the trailer of him staring at his reflection in the limo window, etc. Why does every Japanese boy want to be a feminine Neo with copy/paste anime hair? Ah well. At least the other character, the one that's definitely a girl, with the light brown hair, at least she seems a bit more palatable in a "girl you might know" sort of way.![]()
That really dosen't have a"oh I'm so sad" expression. I mean if thats what they were going for, thats pretty badly presented. Shouldnt his head be down and not looking at the camera?

Thirteen Guitar Hero (and spinoff) games - AC, Mass Effect, Gears of War and Uncharted all starting and ending their trilogies was enough to drive it home for me, tbh.
I guess this is bad news for xbox360 or PC only owners. They will miss this masterpiece of a RPG. I guess tgs or square Enix event will be where new information and release date will be showed. Just hope it does not do a Metal Gear Rising

Really, at this point, shouldn't they just turn this into FFXV?

Emo, as in he looks like a dainty depressed goth. Maybe that's not the conventional use of the word, but now you know how I'm using it, at least. But apparently his look is completely different now, so this may all be null and void. If so, my bad. And of course long hair doesn't feminize someone.Look at the definition of emo, for good's sake.
Also, if you want to be masculine you should cut your hair short? really?....

What someone else posted about no iPhone and Twitter not existing (and Facebook having like 10 million users) was pretty good for things outside of the gaming industry, I thought.True. I started looking through films, Daniel Craig's Bond films were about the only noteable contribution in the timeframe.
Justin Beiber's music career, almost all of Lionel Messi's senior career (actually began in the '05-'06 season), the entire history of the Oklahoma City Thunder....
How exactly? Those games were made by multiple developers. Versus 13 wasn't even a real game until a couple of years back.
With Ubisoft specifically on the mainline AC games (which is 4 games at this point) there is a reason they can push out so many: they use a ton of people. Have you ever watched the ending credits for an AC game? They are like 20 to 30 minutes long. I don't know the inner workings of Square but I am pretty sure they don't farm their games out all across the world letting multiple studios work on tiny parts of them. If they did I am pretty sure they could push out a new major game every year.
For CoD... I really shouldn't have to explain it but every single one of those games uses the same engine and are worked on by 2 different developers (with others pitching in elsewhere iirc). They are essentially the same game with new locales and very minor tweaks to their formula. The thing to keep in mind is each one actually takes about 2 years to create. Which guess what, SE using the same engine/characters/combat etc managed to push out 13-2 in almost exactly 2 years after FF13. They could keep doing that forever if they wanted, but Versus 13 is an entirely different game.
Comparing it to the AC and CoD games specifically is like apples and oranges.
tl:dr - SE, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty are all different I am amazed people are trying to compare them all.
True. I started looking through films, Daniel Craig's Bond films were about the only noteable contribution in the timeframe.
So basically emo is anything not dudebro. Gotcha.
How about the development and production of Marvel's Cinematic Universe?
That's:
2008:
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
2010:
Iron Man 2
2011:
Thor
Captain America
2012:
The Avengers
Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are also on track for release next year.
We've also seen 4 Harry Potter films and the entire Twilight Saga (essentially) as well since 2006.
You can't call out someone for using one entirely subjective and general label while you use another.
You're also attacking a straw man, here.
Finally, the guy's name means night in Latin. If that's not melodramatic, or perhaps "emo," than what is?
So what comes first? The Last Guardian, Half Life 3, or FF Versus XIII?
Why is Noctis feeling so sad all the time, anyway?Guy should take a vacation, or get out in the sun, or something. Stop watching Lifetime movies and listening to old Rob Dougan music.

You can practically hear the depressed "le sigh" in that limo shot.Doesn't look sad to me. He looks bored.

Wait. Maybe he's so sad all the time because he's bored...?
It's true, he might be a radiant ray of sunshine in the final game. Maybe the stuff they've shown us so far is some part of the game where's he's all mopey over someone's death or something. Hmm. Poor guy.You can practically hear whatever preconceived notions you have about the character.
Yeah that's how he looks to me. I don't know how you can get sad or emo from the pictures posted here.Doesn't look sad to me. He looks bored.

I think I can, since I just did.You can't call out someone for using one entirely subjective and general label while you use another.
It's hard to refute anything since I'm not sure what makes something or someone emo or really why the character looks emo when we really don't know much about the character. I'm not even sure we are all on the same page of what emo means. It seems from this entire thing emo means showing any emotion that is not happy or overly macho, because really the character dosen't seem to be acting sad, which is what I would assume what people think emo means. Even though I also think thats stupid. You're also attacking a straw man, here.
Hmm? I'm not sure what this has do with anything. So is emo now melodrama? Well Gears 2 had a melodramatic scene, does that make it emo? And his name follows a traditional FF name pattern, but I guess they are all emo now to. So I'm not really following with what you are saying here. Please define what emo means. Because having a name like that dosent strike me as anything emo. Finally, the guy's name means night in Latin. If that's not melodramatic, or perhaps "emo," than what is?
Guy looks like he cries himself to sleep in a Hot Topic store. Does he need to be depicted with the usual heavyhanded anime portrayal of watery eyes for him to seem sad? Hell no. Again, the limo shot: You can practically hear the world's smallest violin. I can only imagine what poetry he's drafting up in his mind to write in a cryptic Facebook musing. But maybe in the final game it'll make sense in context. Assuming there is a final game, and this isn't vaporware. Maybe they're saving it for TGS...

According to director Tetsuya Nomura, Noctis will not have the "Cloud-like" personality that people are currently expecting. Instead, he will be a type of character that has not yet been seen in the series, one which Nomura has wanted to try out for a long time. Nomura says that Noctis will have a strong and distinctive personality, and will absolutely not be a "silent, gloomy little boy". In a recent Dengeki interview, Nomura explained that Noctis is not cool, but rather an ordinary young man who acts tough because he feels that it is his duty to protect his kingdom and its citizens. As a result, he sometimes acts rashly or overestimates his own strength.
Although his character is said to be hard to define given his complexities,[27][30] a good measure of his personality can be sensed from his first meeting with Stella.[31] Noctis hides his shyness underneath a façade of coolness in front of her, which creates a cold and unsociable impression.[31] However, he smiles and acts more openly around his friends,[27][30] which proves Nomura's statement that "[Noctis] is not the least bit a silent, gloomy little boy."[29]
