A Blockbuster manager in another thread flat-out said he helped to create the list for Blockbuster's database in order to give customers something to preorder. It's not a real list of launch games, though, even if some of them happen to be real launch games.

Because it's not a superset of all the detailed technical features in the current-gen consoles, not because it's weaker or even on-par. PS2 games have to be re-made to work on PS3. That does not make PS3 weaker than PS2, though.
Ps3 and ps2 have vastly different architectures, and the ps3 versions have resolution and framerate improvements Wii U and 360 don't.
Ok, I'm a fool for making up my mind that best case scenario is slightly better than 360, and you're not for thinking it's much better than 360 based on 0 evidence. Sounds great.

Have you ever thought about asking yourself WHY this might be the case? Not only have you not seemed to have heard of the word "scalable" but the word "optimized" seems to not be in your vocabulary as well.
EDIT: Not to mention that the only source that we've heard saying the ports have a bit of trouble is the Darksiders team, which has said everything from "on par" to "exceeds expectations" about the Wii U. So there's that.

You wanted a big back lash? I don't take anyone's word for anything here but I give them enough to warrant a discussion on the possibilities. It is a speculation thread after all. If it was concrete news it would not be speculation anymore but confimred insider info that would be best suited to its own thread.
Let the guy post what he wants, if it is bullshit he will be called out on it and be banned accordingly if his info is proven to be false. He even said his info is second hand and is limited so what he does find out he has to speculate on himself.
If you had some new info what would you decide would be the best way to say it without endangering your source? If you can find a better way then by all means let him know but a backlash is not what we want in this thread.

Everything I've seen on Wii U looks like current gen stuff. And ports like Darksiders and Rayman aren't running at 1080p 60fps.

No one has really talking about anything in almost a year. The only reason we know about UE3 is because of the announced ports that Epic is obviously going to confirm are using their engine. Its a bit to early to assume quietness means anything i think

Not for the hell of it but if they had an NDA and the knowlededge of the engine support might confirm the wiiU's power, then it will affect knowledge about the wiiU. If it was indeed mentioned then specualtion would be rife and stock prices would be affected and decisions that competitors would make regarding preemptive strategies would also be affected.
Not mentioning it will continue the current status quo and not cause any fluctuations in stock speculation or decisions and strategies by competitors.

Absence of proof isn't proof of absence. Also, there's a little thing called an NDA which would keep anyone from announcing anything for the Wii U.
Nintendo has NDAs about pretty much everything to do with the system, at this point. It was mentioned just a couple of pages ago that Treyarch is showing BlOps2 Wii U to press, but it was nowhere on the annoucement trailer.
All that aside, I highly doubt Epic is too concerned with Wii U, at this point. First they have to get UE4 going to their targeted systems/specs. Then, they may spend time trying to allow lesser systems, such as Wii U, to run under the same engine. That'll still be some time away. The hope for Wii U is that whatever base featureset UE4 will need will be present on Wii U. It's definitely not a targeted/intended system, but just like UE3 support widened, so will UE4 support. It's just a matter of if it'll widen to the Wii U, too.
What ports have you seen on Wii U?
The Darksiders team said that they had a definite goal to make all versions look the same. They're intentionally not trying to make the Wii U version look better. Still, there's the question of where you saw a Wii U port running.

I would either chose to keep the information to myself, or I would do what John Harker does. IdeaMan's teases that ensure all eyes are on him (and bring in hits from other websites) is a terrible strategy if the utmost goal is to protect your source.
I and many other posters have suggested better ways that IdeaMan could post his information here, but he acts personally affronted that anyone could dislike his 'fun' posting style.
I would be very surprised if Rayman isn't 1080p 60fps. Origins was on PS360.

I gotta admit, we've been pretty lucky as far as trolls go in these threads. There are some pessimists and a few jerks here and there, but for the most part, people have been well behaved. It's a pleasure being part of NintendoGAF, especially considering the alternatives.
He gave click sticks. Something anyone could have told you was there purely by looking at the games announced for the console. I'm happy that it stopped that conversation, but the conversation could have been avoided with basic deductive reasoning. Gimme something substantial.
Also, drive-by postings don't exactly drown someone out, y'know? I don't expect him to lurk constantly, but y'know.... people have follow-up questions.
It's not about feeding us tiny nuggets, it's about a dialogue. That's what IdeaMan offers, no matter whether his antics rub the wrong way or not.
I'd say ShockingAlberto is a much better example of what I'm talking about with his de facto BlOps2 confirmation.

Well, we all kind of new it existed because the president of the company said so last year and seeing as how they are probably the major partner for Nintendo, i think it didnt matter. There are plenty of ports being made and yet not a single preview of anything Wii U related so the NDAs must cover pretty much everything new or specific about its version.
They said they wouldn't be improving it graphically and cited their budget as the factor. This was back at E3 last year. I don't feel like digging up the article.
