So Fable Heroes is a pretty weak game. I can't believe they'd release a beat 'em up in 2012 that doesn't even have basic XXXYY-style combos. It's all just mash X all day.
But...that doesn't even make sense. Gauntlet is simple because it's 30 years old, not because Midway wanted it to be. Making a game with one attack per character in 2012 is just weak, not "going back to the old school" or whatever. They don't see it as a beat-em-up. They see it as Gauntlet advanced. (Reference to the Dev diary for more info.)
Gauntlet Legends didn't have combos either...
I know... I think it's a funky idea too. Lionhead seems to make a lot of these.
Haven't played the demo myself yet, so can't say much more, will wait till playing myself![]()
I bought Fable Heroes. It's fine for 800pts and fun seeing all of Albion in this cute style.
Really? The "it's only 800pts" excuse? Like every good game on the service is 800!I bought Fable Heroes. It's fine for 800pts and fun seeing all of Albion in this cute style.
Yes, the game is a complete joke difficulty-wise.UraMallas said:Are the cheevos easy?

Also, wait, "Gauntlet advanced?" Then why is every single level a straight line from left to right when Gauntlet was a much more free-form game with open, sprawling levels? That comparison is just BS by Lionhead.
Anybody purchased Nexuiz? I got hooked up on Quake Live the past days and I really liked the Nexuiz trial back when it was released, but my major problem seems to be unsolved ever since: there are no players. Because of that awful matchmaking system, I was waiting for 25 minutes yesterday and still was not able to find enough players to start a single match! Is it the same with the full version or only the trial is useless? Because I would definitely buy it ... :\

The problem nowadays is that they separated the trial and retail players with different matchmaking. It wasn't like that originally but some selfish fools on the official forums convinced the devs to patch it in. I kept trying to tell them that exactly what's happening to you would happen and they'd lose sales, but they went with the popular opinion. :/Anybody purchased Nexuiz? Way to miss the point! Point is that the 800 price point does not make a mediocre game better, because there are actually excellent games on the service that are also 800. No need to buy a lesser game just because it's cheap, when far better games are just as cheap. That's a pretty rational thought if you ask me, but that was a totally sweet burn brah.Taking the price into account when you buy something isn't an excuse, it's how rational people make purchasing decisions.
The Austin-based developer is staging a new Ms. Splosion Man challenge. The top five finishers will win a copy of an upcoming Twisted Pixel game that will be announced during Microsoft's E3 press conference.
The Ms. Splosion Man contest is named "Splokour" and is inspired by the street acrobatics of parkour. The challenge will be accessible from May 5 to May 20 in the Ms. Splosion Man main menu. In Splokour, you'll attempt to guide Ms. Splosion Man through a level without touching the ground.
Each time you step on a platform, 10 seconds will be added to your time. On 11pm Eastern Standard Time on May 20, the top five players on the challenge leaderboard will be awarded a Ms. Splosion Man plushie and a copy of the new, as-yet-unannounced Twisted Pixel game.
We're glad to hear that Twisted Pixel has a new game in the works.
Splosion Man Jr.
That's pretty interesting. The new game announcement must be Mr. and Mrs. Splosion Man, or Splosion Man Jr.
Yeah, probably this.
Achievements for Street of Rage and Golden Axe are out, lazy Sega still using twelve achievements although the points are boosted up to 400.

Some GoD and various Hero music reduced as well - http://xbldb.com/offer-history/price-changes
Music DLC might be worth a look if you've got Xbox Rewards, because you get 80 back for spending 240. Of course, it's all Hero stuff and nobody owns those games do they?

I think there will be quite a few games forced to just double their achievements value.I suspect that's a case of the achievements being developed/locked in before the 200->400 policy change and then the dev having to make a change on the fly.
Next Wednesday is Sonic 4-2 and Jam music game thing. Then Dragon's Lair on the Friday. So what's up for the rest of the month?
I'm at work, and can't follow the link... any chance of a copy/paste?

I'm less annoyed at the points value than I am at the fact that they could be using thirty achievements now. Given that these are packs of three games, they could REALLY use the added bump in that regard.

Aren't these collections being developed by M2, the same guys behind NeoGeo Station?Looks like SoR collection might have Bare Knuckle 3 with Ash playable from the achievement descriptions.
