BioShock Infinite delayed (February 26th, 2013)

The only game I was looking forward to this year. :'(

But I just espaced from February and now I just got up with an entire year with no Bioshock and then again february.

Not this again, not winter time, who can play Bioshock in winter ? Oh, man I wanted so much at the end of this summer. Everything is ruined.

RE6, Borderlands 2, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Forza Horizon? I'm sure I miss some other interesting games as well...Fall is looking great but having Bioshock Infinite being delayed doesn't suck less IMO. :(

RE6 - Splitting the campaign into three different sections sounds incredibly dumb to me. I'm not exactly looking forward to an "action packed" Chris Redfield portion...

Borderlands 2 - Nothing from this game has wowed me. It just looks like more of the same, which is fine I guess but I'll wait for the bargain bin clearance.

Tomb Raider - Never had much love for this series.

Far Cry 3 - Again, don't really like this series. Boring art direction and storyline.

Forza Horizon - We have literally next to no information about this game so it's hard for me to get excited.

So.... yeah. :/

Ehhmmm no. I was also happy when GTA IV was delayed to the next year. It's a wise choice to delay and polish the game some more. So much more potential sales when the shelves aren't stocked with other AAA-games. RE6 and ACIII are really strong brands. Not saying that Bioshock isn't but I'm guessing most people will choose RE or AC instead of Bioshock if they could only pick 1 game. Just look at how good Operation Raccoon City sold :/

I have no problem with Bioshock releasing in 2013, same goes for GTA V. It's just that - at least for me - there is not that much else to look forward to in 2012.
Maybe my taste just changed that much that I don't care for the majority of games/sequels coming out, but my October is definitely not crowded this year, though I wish it was.
With E³ around the corner there's still a chance we either get some new games announced or at least release dates for the few games I'm interested in (Tomb Raider, Dishonored, The Last of Us)
I'm hoping for a Lords of the Shadow 2 E³ unveiling with a fall launch but that might be too optimistic.

Man this reeks of Take-Two coming down hard on Irrational to include multiplayer.

Fuck this earth.

I agree with this.

BioShock Infinite was the only other game I was going to get day 1 this year. The rest of the games coming out (even Diablo III, Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2, RE6, Halo 4, etc.) I was going to wait on.

Not every game needs multiplayer to be a great game. Apparently, every publisher thinks that multiplayer is necessary now to have a 'successful launch.'

EDIT: This isn't to say that the delay this time is solely due to multiplayer. Still, an early 2013 release date is either very smart or very much 'sent to die.'

Oh well, will give me more time to round up the cash. I probably couldn't have day one'd it in 2012.

Wii U purchase will siphon my funds.

Don't care personally. Holiday period is clogged as it is (BO II, Halo 4, AC III, ...). Games need to be spread throughout the year.

Bah! :(

Still plenty to keep me busy, but I was really looking forward to it.

Wii U, Borderlands 2 and RE6 better be awesome cause they're the main events.

Back at Irrational Games...

Chill out. If you don't like it then don't play it. As long as the development of multiplayer didn't harm the singleplayer, I see no reason to get angry.

Halo 4.

It's not about harming the singleplayer, it's the fact the game was (potentially) delayed over 6 months to include something I'll never play and have no interest in.

Infinite is my most anticipated game in years, so this sucks. I think they announced it too early.

Oh well. Unless GTAV comes out, looks like my consoles won't be getting much use this fall.

The other AAA games (Halo 4 and AC3) aren't exactly what I'd call day one buys.

I'm looking forward to this more for the free copy of Bioshock that comes with the PS3 version of Bioshock Infinite. Having to wait longer to play both makes me sad :(

2012 retail titles are so lacklustre this year. After the incredible wave of titles last year, I knew this year couldn't compete. Don't get me wrong, downloads have been where its at this year, really fantastic and I hope there is more to come in that department but I really can't get excited for hardly any title coming up. Next gen and new IP can't come soon enough

Only big holiday game I cared about.

Edit: Actually, the only retail game I cared about that wasn't Blizzard, Valve (ha, yeah right) or The Last Guardian.

Goddamnit I hate delays, I know it's for the better but still. Here is an idea: don't set a release date until your close to it and it's accurate.

Maybe you guys just need to replay Bioshock 2, then the wait won't seem so bad.

This is Ken Levine's follow-up to Bioshock, infinite is Bioshock 2.

this delay is extremely depressing news to wake up to...

optimism... it's for a Wii U port
pessimism... it's for Move/Kinect/multiplayer support.
