But what about Ultimate.
I'm lazy! Plus I expected someone with a Vita to look up the actual hitboxes or some shit. I don't feel like trial-and-error'ing it.

Been working on some other stuff through.

In case you missed it earlier:

Haha dieminions attempt to counter pick Chrisgs Morrigan + Phoenix team with Vergil failed on him because his Vergil is fraudulent as fuck.

At least the east coast is trying to break down Morrigan now.

I have to say I've actually enjoyed the last 2 Big Twos for this reason. People don't have it air tight yet but I'm at least seeing some good decision making more often than not.

Definitely. DragonGod made a couple bad mistakes but he essentially had it done.

Marvisto did some good work against Dieminion too but just didn't seal the deal. Glad people are actually making some headway towards dealing with it properly.

Real talk marvistos Arthur is scary as hell. Its too bad he lacks a proper lockdown assist on that team for firebrand but otherwise his team is legit.

Safe ground Bon Voyage is even better than that IMO. It wouldn't be bad if he made his team Firebrand/Amaterasu/Arthur, though.

I have no idea what taskmaster is doing on that team.

With firebrand its good to have a second character with strong tac synergy and a damaging DHC.

If they've already reached 65% capacity, that means it's got a good a shot at top 3 when everything's settled.
Seriously, that would be incredible.

Only reason I didn't sign up for free shirt was because I didn't feel like being one of those scumbags who holds up pools. The place is going to be busy enough from the sound of it and it's not like I'm actually going to play that game.

Basically, Dormammu.

KoF: not even worth the free shirt.

He is doing work like he is always doing in every team he is in.

Arthur also goes amazing with Vergil as he gets a free combo off rapid slash using dagger assist. Its a very meter intensive team though.

well yeah but the synergy between him and firebrand is lacking outside of a damaging DHC. he not even using the horizontal arrows. idk
He's using vertical shot because Arthur has the horizontal shot covered.

Kinderparty does the same thing IIRC.

Or Doom or trish.
Doom just has the TAC. Trish has Round Harvest unblockables, which are inferior to Stalking Flare unblockables.

I would like to see a lockdown assist like shopping cart or cold star in its place actually.

Well my current team is Firebrand Doom Ammy. The TAC work as you imagine and Doom's Beam covers firebrand horizontally. Doom's interaction with ammy is also something I'm fond of. The DHC synergy for damage is also there

Firebrand Trish Ammy is another team I've been using. Trish assist are better than Dorms, I get a fireball assist with her that covers firebrand horizontally. With dorm I get combo extension...

She has the TAC synergy and round harvest set ups unblockables just fine although it's worst than dorms like you said. It depends on you and what you rather have honestly though

Yeah, it's all about preferences. You can't even really use Dark Hole for combo extension, it causes too much decay. It's pretty terrible. But 1D2C canceled into Stalking Flare, DHC to Luminous Body, is pretty much a dead character. Dark Hole can be used for unblockables like Cold Stars can, but it's a bit more limited. Dormammu is almost like an in-between of Trish and Amaterasu from a Firebrand synergy standpoint.

I use Doom for my third because of Hidden Missiles. Also, a basic Firebrand combo into a THC with my team does over 900K, which is really respectable damage for poor Firebrand.

oh damn. what happened to max?

EDIT: Lol never mind

It's stupid that people are knocking his decision without knowing the whole story. Sometimes all you have to keep you going is a hobby, and giving up that hobby is a worse life than whatever inconveniences come out of keeping it. I'm inclined to give him respect.

real talk

Nope.

Where did you hear this? It's one thing for suits to say that they want that money, but I don't believe that they'd let him rush a SF centric crossover for some no name franchise that hasn't had a proper entry in fifteen years.

:S

http://www.narutoforums.com/showthread.php?t=815139&page=4

This is copy pasta from a deleted thread over at Capcom Europe, by the way:

Taken from an employee of Capcom UK. No one wants to go public because Capcom are really fucking furious about SF X T in general and they don't want to piss off Sony either (Even though they are really mad).

But the sequence is apparently

- Capcom sees progress on the game is not good around the 70% milestone. Too far to can the game and they need it finished to return the investment. Tells Ono to scale it back so it can be finished without incident or Delay to hit their Financial year

- Ono wants his team moved on as soon as possible because he wants to be done with it as well and tells them to do the DLC now, have it finished so they can move onto what is assumed to be Darkstalkers 4 so they can work on that to full capacity. So they finish the characters so they can be released as needed

- Capcom sees they have 12 characters in the bank and inks the deal with Sony since it's a good selling point for the Vita and Sony pays big bucks for exclusives

- Soon after the team gets the compatability patch ready to cert early only to find that Sony has completely blocked them. Sony says absolutely no compatibility patches at all (remember the Super SF4 costumes?). Capcom pitches a fit because they signed the exclusive and they know what happened last time with MvC3 when they did on disc DLC. Microsoft OK's all the patches but with the fee of £500,000 for the big 12 character pack.

- Capcom and Ono decide it's not worth fighting Sony or paying Microsoft and just ship it with everything on the disc so it can be certified later on because they want rid of it and for it to be over with.

- Game comes out, Fiasco happens when it's easily hacked and Capcom takes all the brunt of everything. Capcom are pissed because their public image took a blow because Sony were being whiny bitches about some bandwith

Also they wouldn't have been finished on time before the game went into content complete status. The dev cycle was far too short and allegedly really badly managed. So Capcom kept working on them till they were finished while they were still in full production while working on the final push for QA and certification. They were done before the game went gold and were being prepared for a patch to be certified till Sony said no. The patch was just dumped onto the disc with the rest of the game which would be unlocked with a key after the Vita release.

Every publisher does the same. EA's Battlefield 3 exclusive pretty much strongarmed Sony into it because they pretty much said "We do what we like or we release on 360 first".

Where Capcom fucked up is that they signed the exclusive with Sony and let Sony dictate the terms of the deal. They had nothing to bargain with on the 360 version because the characters were exclusive to the PSV version so Sony were able to bully them into no compatibility patch and putting the DLC on the disc.

Capcom were fucking dumb and the cash grab caught them out when they had to play by Sony's terms. Now they are probably going to lose even more money on SFxT due to how stupid they were.

Wondering why 360 is getting exclusive DLC for Operation Raccoon City and why its version of Dragon's Dogma is getting the DLC first?

There's your answer.

No idea how true that is, but it sounds believable.

I'm tempted to mock you for the source, but thanks for providing it at least.

I'm not following the compatibility patch issue though - what exactly is the nature of the problem?

Compatibility patch = download the dlc instead of it being on disc.

But yeah, I don't trust the source either.

Hmm. I suppose my big doubt is whether Capcom would really care enough about its fan image. Of all the companies out there, Capcom seems the most likely to just say "fuck you" to the fans whenever it feels like.

Wow at things getting blown out of proportion, haha.

I live in a condo so it's not the end of the world to move somewhere else. I had a pretty sweet thing going at the place everyone knows and loves from Assist Me, but I'd prefer to keep the show/productions going rather than dealing with outside problems coming with the location. I found out about this a few weeks ago, and am already making plans to move, albeit living expenses being nearly twice as much.

Even with the costs associated with moving/new place, the big issue at hand is the main writer/costume designer and actor for Assist Me, is running into some really tough times right now. I'll put up a video soon explaining everything but the bigger problem as a result is the future of Assist Me, as we'd be losing our primary shooting location, and key production members.

I feel very iffy about just asking people for money for the hell of it, and want to do this the right way if at all. Most likely give away key items from the show, or exclusives to people that donate. I'd prefer it being worth someones while if they're actually contributing money towards a production. Similar to how we had a budget working with Capcom for Ultimate Assist Me last year, the budget would now come from the fans for the future of Assist Me. Everything outside of those 6 episodes came out of my pocket and those involved in the creative work. The show has always been a financial but extremely personal rewarding burden...but it's doing something I love and sharing it with people who also have come to enjoy it too.

Given the issues with SSFIV and MVC3, I actually buy it.

They've said "fuck you" to their non-fighting game fans, at least. SF4 WAS a huge shot in the arm for them, IIRC.

Wait, the new place costs twice as much? :(

I thought people knew by now to not trust what scytheavatar says about most things.
I forgot about that...
I am curious what Capcom's master plan with SFxT is. Seth said it would all make sense, but I'm doubting it will.
I don't see how they could have a master plan beyond milking the game for all it's worth until the next big thing.

It's funny that the one to start counterpicking is a Morrigan player lol.

real talk

let's get this shit started
There is nothing to start because AE doesn't compare. It's not even an issue of balance either. I think back to comments like Flashmetroid's praise of SFxT being the best fighter(maybe SF) since Third Strike and how people took it as approval that the game was amazing. Why didn't he just say that it blew away AE? Everyone was ready to leave SFIV and this iteration of SF is not even that old yet.

I don't think it's CFJ bad or even terrible, but I feel more and more like it's the game that people play just because there is competition. I guess we'll find out if AE is any good in another five years or so. Good games last forever regardless of hype, sponsors and brazzers. I'm looking at VSav, ST, 3S and Guilty Gear here.

It was an entertaining read to say the least.
