That they do.

Glad to see you finally figured it out.
:(

Than dont make your name your user name.
It's my nick name, besides that I already gave my reasoning of why I chose and then decided to drop it. Creeps are continuing to use it.

Lol, so now the film clearly has fantastic legs, and will crush 1B, and the goalposts are being move again. Legs in particular are all Whedon, writing and directing. That massive word of mouth keeping this film earning high is proof of it. Trying to argue otherwise is embarassing.

This was all manufactured by Feige and Marvel Studios 4 year 5 film build up not word of mouth.

If the word of mouth was bad, you'd see a significant drop. Look at Green Lantern. It had a good opening day and then dropped like a rock after because the movie was so fucking bad. Feige can be credited for the initial turnout, but the soft drops are all Whedon.

This is like holding a textbook on marketing and, instead of reading it, just setting the book on fire and pretending the material can be learned by inhaling the fumes.

Also blame Nolan for making okay crime movies.

Best post in this thread so far.
And I actually love the Batman flicks. But it's no denying, TDK was just a tolerable crime movie, nothing more.

I think there's a considerable likelihood that TDKR will be a better film. However, I have absolutely no confidence that it will make as much as TDK made.

On topic, I think Nikki Finke is lowballing it again. Just like she did it last week. Her first estimate for Friday was ~65M and she kept raising it up until she was close to 80M. The final tally came in at 80.8M.

I wont be surprised if this did 30M today.

I have to destroy it, GAF.

The strength of the Threadbearer is failing. In his heart, Sculli begins to understand. The quest will claim his life. You know this. You have foreseen it. It is the risk we all took. In the gathering dark, the will of the grudging grows strong. It works hard now to find its way back into the hands of men. Men, who are so easily seduced by its power.

If you people have a problem with each other, you can take it to PM. If I see this sort of shit continue, you can all take a holiday.

So with Avengers going into the second weekend at $803 million worldwide, is it likely to cross $1 billion by Monday?

It depends on Domestic grosses, but I am starting to lean towards no. If the Avengers does $100M domestically this weekend, it would need a really good overseas drop to break $1B. A little less than 40% I think. $975M+ might be more likely, with the $1B mark falling on Monday or Tuesday. Avengers would miss tying the record, but overseas markets opening 9 days before the US release really hurt its chances. Pretty amazing that the movie is so close to $1B already, despite all of that.

Duly noted.

So. Box Office Thread. Do we think Dark Shadows is going to be the movie where everyone finally gets tired of the "Tim Burton presents Hey It's Johnny Depp in White Makeup And Acting Weird" genre?
