Agreed. I don't think MIB3 will make that big a splash at the box office ($150-175M total), but its opening weekend will definitely surpass the Avengers' fourth weekend.

I could see Men in Black doing $200 million or more. I think my prediction in the one thread was $250M. That might be pushing it, but if Will Smith's marketing power is still there, it's going to make some good bank over the Memorial Day weekend.

Oh, not just any game

All Wheedon did was babysit. He rode the coat tails of a bunch of already successful movies. Most of the people coming out of Avengers probably have no idea who he is and assume Marvel just has a robot pumping out these movies. He's not in the class of Nolan and Cameron.

Silence, these people do not like to hear the truth.

so what, nolan was a no one before batman. does whedon get a 160 million budget and can cherry pick the actors for his next movie?

Batman's just a rip-off of the Shadow!

Gun-wielding, scary/mysterious vigilante by night, playboy millionaire by day, flies around on an autogyro and fights Yellow Peril caricatures? C'mon, they weren't even trying!

You know who made the Avengers and TDKR a success?

Stan Lee and Bob Kane, but I don't see none of you nerds giving them the credit.

Didn't you claim Avengers was going to do terrible at the box office? But now that it blew up its "obvious" anyone could have directed it and come up with the same result?

Whedon did more than "babysit," just listen or read any of the production articles or podcasts that have come out in the past two weeks. From the vfx supes to the sound editors, they all talk about how much Whedon was involved on this.

Christ people, ease up on the blind fanboying. You're approaching FMT levels of blind hate. And not nearly as entertaining.
