My Vita won't even connect unless I turn on my PS3 first. I can then remote turn off/on the PS3 from the Vita for a little while but by the next day my PS3 won't respond to my Vita again.

That's weird, I wonder if it's just us or a Sony fuck-up. Would love to hear other's experience with remote play.

Remote play and remote start have been working fine for me. Though I usually only use it to queue up downloads while someone else is using the TV.

Seems more responsive than remote play with the PSP but that may just be because I haven't used the PSP in awhile.

BTW, I just finished Golden Abyss for the first time. I played on hard difficulty without too much, um ..., difficulty. It did take me awhile to get used to the gyro aiming.

Is there somewhere, in game, where I can view my stats; play time, headshots, kills by weapon, etc? I thought I had found it once but couldn't find it just now.

So guys, I've never been able to get remote play to work when connecting on a network outside my home, it only works inside my own private network. I set my PS3 to be "on" at all times, but it seems worthless when I can't even log in outside my network. I've tried it in a couple of network and no luck yet. Am I alone in this? what am I doing wrong?

works for me...

So you use it on your home only? have you tried it on another network, while your PS3 is at your house?

works for me...

So both work for you? (inside your home and being somewhere else with the Vita)

I just don't understand what's wrong then. Thanks guys.

Are there Vita slip cases like this PSP one available anywhere? The hard case with the FEB is nice and all but for everyday walking around I'd love to have something minimal-but-protective like this.

Using Remote Play over the internet is a bit tricky. Try putting your PS3 in the DMZ for your router, try turning on upnp on your router (or, if it's on, turning it off). If your PS3 is behind two routers, like it's on a wifi bridge or something like that, you'll have a lot more trouble. Keep in mind the lag is usually a lot worse when you're going over the internet, so you might not be missing a whole lot.

Okay, thank you, I'll try it!

Yep. keep in mind i may run into the problem of being able to shut it down but when i wanna use it again i cant use remote play unless i turn it on again regularly.

Eva Protection Carrying Case

That right there is what I use and for the price it's MORE than enough for casual walking around. Highly recommended for the price (it's $0.79 cents with like 2.95 for shipping)

I had my Vita out in the sun today for about an hour when the screen started shaking, as if someone was just rubbing their fingers all over the touch screen. The menu pages were changing by themselves and any attempt to do anything (including powering off the unit) failed for about 5 minutes. I finally got it turned off. Scared me. Seems fine now though. I assume it was a bit hot? Has this happened to anyone else?

I logged into my PS3 today to play Uncharted, and I noticed that none of my trophies from the vita are showing up. Neither did friends I added on my vita. WTF is this shit?

yeah I have that same case for PSP and loved it. I posted the vita pouch I use a page or so back and I like it (waterfield pouch) more because its more snug and doubles as a screen cleaner though it costs more. You can find the vita version of that soft pouch though at dealextreme.

So apprently psn will be down for three days this week? I read it will be from the 14th through the 16th , makes me wonder what's happening when you take into consideration that Qgames said that PJMD will be playable on vita by the 15th. Probably nothing major but three days seems strange.

Possibly its a new Vita firmware getting pushed with some PSP emulation added for some titles like PJMD and to remove the exploit that was found to run Vita Home brew Loader a few weeks ago. Also possibly getting some more PS1 emulator stuff fixed/pushed for the inevitable Vita FW at E3 with ps1 compatibility.

It's a travesty that the official one is only available in the US as part of the starter kit. One advantage it has over the other ones is that it has a small aperture at the bottom where you can attach headphones and the usb cable without having to remove the vita from the case. Playasia has it for $25.

On the subject of cases, I just received that $0.79 case from Amazon, and the first thing I did was smell it. XD

That is the strangest smell ever. Thankfully it isn't too loud of an odor.

I have about £15 left in my PSN wallet and I think i'm going to buy a couple PSP games; would anyone recommend Silent Hill:Origins?

Someone should've told me Uncharted GA was a better game than Uncharted 3. I thought I was done with the series, but Bend really did a great job taking the focus off the combat and adding new things to do. I actually really enjoy the puzzle solving, charcoal drawings and massive amount of collectables. Makes me feel like a treasure hunter and not some vigilante with a fancy ring and penchant for ruins.

Only faults? Not native rez and I wish you could use the rear trackpad for the menu/swipes. Aiming is probably the best I've used in any handheld or console game. Also, love how some encounters are set so you can bypass the "Uncharted wave fights" by taking out the first visible group through stealth.

Since I enjoyed Uncharted so much, I picked up Resistance: Retribution and I'm about halfway through it.

Man, Sony Bend are fucking awesome. They deserve better than being stuck with side-story spinoff games =(

I really, really, really wish they would put this back up on NA PSN... I've wanted to play it on my Vita since February - sort of as a prequel to this month's Vita game - but for some stupid reason SEA have decided they don't want me to give them more money for a game I already own on UMD, even though I'd do so gladly for this one...

Has anyone tried using Ad hoc party for Vita games that are ad hoc only? There was some posts here awhile back saying it worked if you had the exact same game from the same region but I never got around to confirming it.

so im getting a bigger memory card (hopefully comes tomorrow) and i was wondering what psp games i should get. Before i start im not a huge fan of RPG's and not really into FF but if there are ones for 5$ ill check them out. Im in the US also btw.

This is what i have so far:
LBP
Pursuit Force
Pixel Monster Deluxe...hoping it becomes compatible soon

I want to get:
Daxter - heard it was great and its only 10$ now
GOW games but im not paying 20$ for them :\
Tactics Orgre i heard was a great SRPG and after loving Disgaea and putting a lot of time into it i feel like i owe it to myself to try this out
Killzone Liberations - how much?
Peace Walker - of it wasnt so much...
Also thinking about getting either 2 of the ratchet/clank games assuming they are compatible.

I hope I can word this properly:

Am I able to activate TWO Vita's using my ONE PSN account and share my games and play multiplayer between the two Vitas? Or is only one Vita allowed to be 'active' at any one time?

Apologies if this has been answered.

Thinking about picking up a Vita. What do you guys think about this deal?

Starter kit that came with 4GB Memory Card, Card Case, Pouch, Protective Film (installed), Headphones, Cleaning Cloth., also with
PlayStation Cradle Vita charging stand and
2 games below:
Modnation Racers Road Trip
Uncharted: Golden Abyss

For $220?

....

Tactics Ogre is great choice -

My personal top 3 on PSP:
1. Tactics Ogre
2. Valkyria Chronicles 2
3. Jeanne d'arc (really pisses me off it's not on EU store so i can't get it on my vita without messing with accounts)

Also God Eater Burst is amazing with Vita controls.

Also, I bought FF7 on PSN on my PS3 awhile ago. Can I play this on my Vita? Sorry, I'm a noob.

I see "Is the PS Vita backwards compatible?
A: You can play some PSP games (see detailed list below). PS1 Classics are not compatible at launch. There are no current plans to make PS2 Classics or PSN games compatible." in the OP but man, I really want to play FFVII on this.

dont get modnations, the frame rate is very bad and makes it unplayable and points. i would suggest wipeout if you want a racer.

if your a sports fan get The Show, ive put a ton of hours into the game and im not that big of a baseball fan

Everyone is guessing that the PS1 classics will be available some time after E3. And yes, that's a good deal for the system.

Sounds pretty good to me, but I don't know the going rate over there.

But to use what I bought, £220 for the Vita, 16GB Memory Card, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Case and a little pre-order box that I didn't know I was getting that came with headphones and a £5 off card.
A quick currency conversions says that £220 is like $350, lol.

Thanks! I'm really hoping for the classics.

I'm guessing I should get a larger memory card, too.

I play MonHun on my Vita on ad hoc party and it works perfectly well!
