Fighting Games Weekly | May 7-13

Technically Dante is the better character. Safer, more versatile, better support capabilities, better air mobility. Vergil however has traits that make him easier to be effective with like better damage, better normals, beret mix ups. full combo off of air throws and better abuse of x factor.
 
I haven't played UMVC3 in a long time.. what's changed since like Jan/Feb that's made him top tier? Or what have people figured out?

About time Vergil gets his due. Been on the wagon before the game was out. Rather see millions of Vergil than one Wesker.

Yeah...Spiral Swords is much much better than what people originally expected. Add x-factor in and you got a seemingly unblockable character.

I must be the only one who likes watching Wesker play. Better on point than otherwise though.

Also, you only like him cause you think he's hot, don't front.
 
I used to use him when the game came out but I couldn't get the Rising sun combo down so I dropped him :p.

Swords + Teleporting like mad must be crazy in Xfactor

I do use Dante though, love the character.
 
I have been on the Vergil band wagon since 8 years ago. Basically when he made his debut I was like "if this character comes in a fighting game I am maining him for life no matter how bad he is".

When he made his trailer debut I declared him op. People thought I was just on some fan boy high but I was speaking the truth.

I'll tell you this much, I'd fight a Dark Wesker with 3 million health and enjoy it before I would willingly engage an anchored Vergil with more than one meter on deck and X Factor available. Dude just exists to take the joy out of life. :lol

his Lvl. 3 command grab Gamma Avenger. :P
 
Just a heads-up, the thread for next week might be a little late, and/or it might be a "post now, edit later" job. I'm really sorry guys, schedule is a bit hectic right now (that, and I poorly manage time), I haven't been able to do as much with the weekly threads as I've wanted.

Also trying to improve my actual research, there are still events here and there that fall through the cracks. Granted, I (or someone else) usually at least know about them as soon as they start, but that kind of misses the purpose.

So? LOL. The bad boy attitude is a turn on. Plus Katanas > Any other swords.

Would like Wesker more but they made him into a pansy in RE5. He was calculated and cool but they turned him into a stereotypical villian who gets all prissy when things get heated. Plus that whole leather get up is a no no. Hopefully his son in RE6 is a lot better.

If joker wins I hope people at least stop labeling iron man incorrectly as low tier.

Oh and zero is still the best character in the game but just like viper and a few other top characters he requires a proper team built around him as a point character only. Vergil is much easier to pop on a team as he can play point, secondary or anchor all extremely well.

Oh they're doing Montreal now? Good! Not sure if I'll go to toryuken (damn I hate that name) but Montreal and the venue Foonzo is always so fun. Love those Québécois pop offs.
 
Hmmmm. Would need to see footage of joker before I take sides. Yipes seems to be hyping him up though. As for now Team Rayray!
