All I can do is toggle options and play the opening cinematic again and again and again. I'd laugh if I didn't want to cry.

I'm in Australia, but have my characters on the US servers. Had no trouble logging in and out last night and again this morning a few times either. (I actually ditched D3 shortly after the Skele King to go and play Tribes Ascend, lol).

Hopefully this is all sorted come my weekend though so I can put some thorough time in!

I play with anywhere between ~250ms and 800ms ping, depending on what my local network is doing (800ms when downloading on another PC, 250 when simply playing). 800 has all sorts of rubber banding and animations withõut effects (like having a really bad chance to hit percentage in D2), but 250 is perfectly manageable.

So I'd say no, atleast in PvE. PvP when it rolls around may be a different story.
 
I am quite sorry to find out that my prediction of the catastrophe ensuing from the servers crashing is coming true. Knew it was going to happen and all of the discussion that ensued but I have been working all day hoping it wouldn't be true.
 
WTF I keep getting kicked out! I'm at the point right before what seems to be the first boss fight, and I DQ 3 times. I had to start over that area over and over again. Blizzard please get it fixed soon.

You are lucky, i start with 130ms, then i jump to 300ms, and stay back and forth between 300ms ~ 500ms and high spikes of 1k ms, is their servers i think....

And to make things worse, my achievements were wiped, my Act 1 ach are gone.

Act II near the end.

How are people so fast? i don't rush and i've never died. I'm not complaining, just wondering.

Oh and i freaking love this game.

That's not the main reason. Diablo 2 was pretty much nearly ruined by cheaters. Having this require online drastically reduces the ability to cheat. I'm not going to say it's impossible but it's very difficult.

Loot drops, gold drops etc are all handed at blizzards end, as opposed to the client end. It's the main justification for requiring online.

These issues will be ironed out in a few days. It's not a big deal.
 
Well well. Normal was pretty cool, other than how you could see all the story twists coming a mile away. Didn't even get any proper lewt from last boss, only rare shit :|

I'm almost ready. I just need to eat and shower and then I'm ready. My mouse arrived just in time, my key is associated with my account. Hopefully the servers don't get in my way.

It takes some 12 hours to beat the game but it will take me at least 15 hours the way I play differently.

If you want better AA you have to force it through Inspector.

It takes a lot of planning and strategy. At least that's how it is for my frenzy baba. If you press one button wrong, you're pretty much dead. Example: you proc your defensive cooldown two seconds earlier than you should, it runs out and the champions kills you. gg

Does it work with ATI cards? I have a HD 5770.
 
I'm occasionally getting really horrible lag... while playing on my own lol. Still, I've got my Witch Doctor up to level 12 now so I'm making progress.
 
Which one would you guys rather have-
Diablo 3 collectors edition
Or diablo 3 standard Editon+ $100

Deciding whether or not i should sell my copy.
 
Yeah, they definitely get shorter. I didn't time it out, but on a guesstimate the acts get shorter along the way. Act 4 was pretty short.
 
After a lot of playing, im at the middle of 4th act [solo], unstoppable barbarian rage frenzy machine.... and its too easy. Everything dies fast, even bosses.

I cant wait to start playing Nightmare/Hell with friends.

This is totally acceptable. It's not counterstrike where the ping must be under 100 to play it smooth.

I put stuff up for a similar price to vendor prices as well, but that hasn't sold. However it disappeared from the AH servers earlier today has now shown back up so maybe I will have success with that later. I've also been looking at the crafting mats pretty closely, because if WoW taught me anything is that crafting mat prices are super volatile and easy to abuse at the start of a game/expansion.
 
Finally home, got the CE, been installing past hour. Takes forever!

The CE is wonderful. Anyway, hope i can get into the game soon. Been waiting a long time for this!
 
Playing monk here. If I get a weapons with 20 dps and +5 strengh, it's not better than a 20 dps + 5 dexterity weapons right ? Because monk get both strengh and dodge on dexterity ?
 
Is it possible to download the client from somewhere else (e.g. via torrents) and then just login? I own the game but the blizzard servers download like CRAP and super slow, so I'm wondering if downloading them faster somewhere else and still pay legally is possible. damn.
