Nope, he's 100% gone.

Servers went down when I was hanging out in New Tristram...and now he's gone.

It defaults me to the char creation screen. Switching the servers around in my account settings does jack shit.
 
Is it worth it to salvage a rare (yellow) item if I know I won't use it? I just picked up a quiver from one of the boss and the WD is probably at #4 in my list of classes I want to play so I doubt I really want to hang on to it until then....

I just feel bad at salvaging a rare lol

Did you log out and log back in? Is your progress in the story saved? Mine didn't show up at all either after the last maintenance I logged completely out and back in and he was there again.

Use darts for damage/efficiency, use spiders because you're throwing a jar of live fucking spiders who are massively pissed over being trapped in a jar at guys. Currently I feel like spiders are a little naff gameplay wise, don't seem to have any perks over the other options.

THAT FUCKING BOSS FIGHT, MAN. GOD DAAAAMMMMNNN. FUCKING FINAL FORM AND EVERYTHING. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! I absolutely love that I got fucking smoked on the 2nd boss of normal mode and my party had to try 3 more times swapping out skills and shit. I LIKE GAME.
 
What's the use of the "show items on ground" bind in D3? In other games it's obvious but in this case it seems like stuff it should be highlighting like books and such aren't affected by it, and everything else is already highlighted automatically.

Edit: oh it only highlights loot and money, and those are already automatic. Lame.
 
Ok, is it just me or there a delay in the game now? I know WoW is connected 100% of the time and there latency. I played the closed beta of D3 and never had this issue.

I can swear every action has half a second delay now (even moving). I thought D3 was like SC2 and it just authenticates with the server when you log in and when there are achievements/check points.

It doesn't matter.

This is not the first time that Blizzard has launched an online product. They have been running an MMO for the past 7 years for crying out loud. I would like my product to work on day 1. I don't consider that be a terrible demand...

Blah blah if this had an offline mode, no one would be saying shit.

The game is always connected. There is a latency meter in the bottom right.

quivers are for DH

you can always sell it

There could be, it depends on your latency.

Really upset because he had some good gear--I know it means nothing since I'll my char will outgrow it anyways...but I literally explored EVERY nook and cranny and doing it over again right away kinda sucks :/

What weapon are you using in your main hand?
 
It's a bit overwhelming coming from Diablo 2 to this. I had not taken part in the beta so everything is so confusing. I played with 3 friends earlier and we beat the BOSS SPOILER

Agh, come on!

I just got to a certain point in Act 2, and decided to stop and eat. When I came back I decided to hit up a public game from someone else. He was a bit behind me, but oh well. So, I redid that part and we got just a bit further. Then, the game disconnected me for some reason. So I start up my own game, and the entire quest is gone! I had to start it all again. I really rearly really REALLY don't want to do those dungeons over again... ugh... I want to see what happens next...
 
Well, I finally died.

End of Act II spoilers:
When the Belial boss fight began, something went wrong, and my party of three became a party of me. The game didn't quite acknowledge that, so I was running around by myself fighting the act boss. I did the first part with few problems, but when we transitioned to the second scene, I came out of the cinematic nearly dead so I healed up. I saw one of the green spots on the floor and used my DH roll to get out of the way, but because of the latency my attempt to live wasn't acknowledged and I was shut down pretty quickly.

I'm pretty pissed that the server issues caused my character to die, so I won't be playing hardcore again until these problems are fixed. Very, very stupid.

Are you changing your region before you login or after? because you can't get the character lists for the other servers unless you change to them first and as of right now the EU server is down so you can't check it even if you wanted too.
 
Well the only issue we had so far was a dungeon half loading while we were inside and we couldn't exit it, quit the session or even beat the dungeon so we had to exit the game and lose all our progress.

What kind items do you sell in the AH?

I used the Jar O' Spiders until I picked up the dog familiars, then I switched back to Dart to pick off powerful enemies while the dogs handled crowds. The Splinter rune for Dart is pretty nice, too.
 
so what will this game run like with a GeForce 8800 GTS and Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4400 @ 2.00GHz ?

I know it passes the minimum setting but will I go at 14 fps ?

Well before Blizzard decided to delete my char I was using Poison Dart too with the 3 round burst. I like it much better than the jars or frogs (although I'll try frogs once I get the explosive rune).

The darts hit like trucks with a 20+ dps weapon.

The spiders can be pretty fun though. Trapping fools with Grasp of the Dead and launching a ton of spider jars at them, and just watching them become overwhelmed.
 
This game is a mess, who'd have guessed I'd have to deal with lag, ping, and logouts in my single player Diablo experience? It's really frustrating. I have a great cable connection, but shitty Wi-Fi network, and have to deal with lots and lots of stuttering, latency problems (300+ ping), and not being able to login for almost 1 hour, in my single player game... Seriously disappointed, I'm just glad this was a gift.
 
Ok so you all play WD similar to how I was until I played co-op with some friends and one of them was using jars so I decided to try it out and it seemed lame so I'm going to go back to the darts + dogs + AOE snare

I have an 8800GTX and a Core 2 Duo E6600... running perfect on high, don't see why you wouldnt.

I wouldn't blame your wifi connection for now. Bnet servers are half-dead.
