The boss was at 1% and they wiped, but they cleared it just now after attempting again. Pretty exciting to watch.

Yes, this game is much more thrilling than DII.

I have a noob question: is it OK if I connect my account from another IP? I am going to Argentina next week and I want to play it in my cousin's PC...

BATTLETAG

NeoGAF Name: snack
Battletag: snack#1277
Location: NA West
Favorite Class: Barbarian!
Death Mode preference: YES PLEASE

Stupid question: I know higher difficulties have better loot and better crafting salvaging, but what about hardcore mode? Does it affect loot/crafting too or does it only add the "don't fucking die" mode?

Yes, if you have an authenticator it'll probably prompt you for the code though.

Just got my fifth legendary... this is my best one yet.

Speaking of Legendary/Set Items.. they are much rarer now right? Because by the end of Act I in DII I already had at least one of each...

I have an authenticator, its in my cell phone. So its ok then?

Because it is randomly generated each time you play.

I know, but that because they can't be arsed to store the gameworld they generated for me.
Which apart from being simply annoying, it's also off putting. It's just plain wrong for the world to shift around every time I reconnect.

Having the world generated again on a new difficulty level or play-through, great. Eating dinner and having all the corridors shifted around when you come back: horrible.

Hmm does Athene stream?
Who is the other team doing this, besides Athene and teamnolife?

Athene isn't streaming attempts, but they'll have vids up eventually. I'm not sure how their progression's going.

They are streaming an awesome fundraiser that needs to get more attention:
http://www.athenelive.com/
http://opsharecraft.com/

His group is trying to raise $1,000,000 for Save the Children's efforts to help starving children in the Horn of Africa. Much respect for Athene.

/!\ ATTENTION ABOUT THE BATTLETAG LIST FOR NEW AND EXISTING ENTRIES /!\

I have added a new "Death Mode" column to the Battletag List for those of you who would like GAF to know what style of play you prefer! (There's also a fancy new chart waiting to be filled in!) I need all new entries to please list their NeoGAF Name, Battletag, Location, Favorite Class, and now Death Mode preference! This goes for existing entries as well, if you only need your Death Mode updated just post your GAF name and preference. Thanks and remember that making your post stand out with bold text or the Battletag image really helps the five of us (myself, CarbonatedFalcon, ZealousD, HenryHSH, and Nacire) spot your post to update you! Keep on slaying! (Thanks to the community for the idea, and thanks to Carbon for bringing it up to me!)

Yeah I seen those streams. Respect+1.
Oh well, would be nice to have seen a rival team going through Inferno. Keeps the work days fun heh.

So for some reason the game is less fun when played on the big tv screen. Does anyone feel the same?I don't know why but for some reason the game needs to be played in front of a monitor with headphones on. The 5.1 mix really sucks anyway.

I actually really like it personally. It keeps the dungeons fresh.

I'm having a blast on my 60"

It's not a class specific class item at least. The ones for monks say so on the tooltip.

I hope there's some good legendary fist weapons for the monk. Every staff I've gotten had too low of an attack speed for my liking.

Just finished normal mode, I died a shit load of times in the last two acts!

Ended up abusing the monks range and bell ability's with pumped up evasion chakra and healing to get through it. Got a stupid amount of rares that allways seemed to be mage or demon hunter related :/

I just installed it, and then played for a bit. Got my lady wizard to level 5.

As someone who's never played Diablo beyond messing with D2 for a couple of hours, I really like it. Feels like maybe it's gonna hook me. Gotta leave the house now for a bit, but I'm anxious to play more.

Fun fact: I know the dude who's the voice actor for Deckard Kane. Fellow standup comic in Vancouver.

This is a play balance thing, and it is done because being able to play the same map over and over again would make repeating the same area much quicker. It didn't matter in Diablo 2 because offline characters couldn't interact with closed battle.net characters but now that we're all part of the same economy, you have to deal with the fact that the speed of your runs can't be fundamentally any faster than everyone else's.

Awesome, I have just been banned for 24 hours from the battle.net forums because I was complaining about their BS answers over the achievement issue.

Anyone know what 3007 is? I've been disconnected more or less every 5 minutes for the past 90 minutes. I just started playing, and it's great, but not being able to get through an area is discouraging.
There's a big thread on the Blizzard forums about it. Do far the only fix blizzard has given is cycle your router bullshit. It's a problem on their end I hope they fix soon it makes playing the game extremely tedious gettin dumped to login every 5 to 15 minutes. I find staying out of town as much as possible helps.

I haven't experienced all the bad stuff with the game yet. Losing characters, lost achievements, que times. I must be extremely lucky or something.

I bought the game about an hour ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's my first dungeon crawler and it's been a good experience overall. No issues with the game whatsoever!

Does anyone know how reliable Best Buy's site is when dealing with "in stock" at the store?

I want a CE but its out of the way, and I can't get anyone on the phone over there.

Wow, that is quite a pain in the ass. I just played the same area 3 times, and now I'm taking a break. I'm using a guest code, and quickly dwindling in enthusiasm. Going from "This is awesome, I'm totally purchasing a full copy!" to "I really don't want to do this 4 times in a row..." I haven't even been back to town yet, but thanks for the tip. Hope it clears up for you.
