Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

This is the first Diablo game I've played, and went for about hours...I had a technical issue that took me forever to figure out. If you have the text size on your desktop set above 100% (which I did b/c it's on a 50" plasma) the mouse doesn't show up, and I was forced to change the display mode in the prefs file to windowed full screen, which was causing me to max out my 580 to get a shaky 60 fps.

Now I play with Adaptive v-sync on full screen though, and in game disabled. Everything maxed and hq ambient occlusion in inspector with the fps sliders set to 70's which keeps it above 60 according to afterburner.

Happened to me too. But before being kicked out of the game I started experiencing lag in the spell animations and movement of my character. *sigh*
 
Also got one of those random disconnects last night. Clicked on a shrine and nothing happened, surrounding enemies were frozen, but I could still move - then the error came up and kicked back to the main menu. Progress rollback to last checkpoint, but at least character stats and pickups were saved.
 
Rather frustrating experience tonight in part, constant freezing, then would find myself dead as the game would catch up.

The English accents are really jarring, they're slightly off and it's getting to me.

Found the Butcher to be easier than the skeleton king. Act 2 tomorrow. I am enjoying it but I think I need to play this on a much harder difficulty to fully appreciate the game.

I doubt it, I believe it's simply a side-effect of the DRM.

For single player it's not about doing the same thing multiple times, it's about doing everything once. It's almost story mode if you will.
If they wanted to prevent boss-runs, they could just lowered the drop-rates on repeat killings(o, wait), or better yet, make sure the unique creatures you kill STAY DEAD. Like they do now, until you reconnect.
When you want to replay a quest, you can do so through the menu, and have the map rerolled at that point.
This would provide emergence for the story mode, better gameplay on spreading a single quest over multiple playing sessions and be perfectly suited for the looters.

And, it would still be nice to, you know, actually include offline characters. I'm not holding my breath, but perhaps we'll be treated to features the predecessor had in the 'hearth of the demon' expansion pack.

Why can't we browse groups or something?

I'm getting sick of getting public game'd into a game with only one other guy in it and he's afk and no one else joins.
 
Why the hell is my connection showing 600+ ms??? WTF! Where am I connecting to? Is there a way to tell?

My game is laggy, half my spells have a huge delay. I have ZERO latency problems with other games. So frustrated...

Just got my first legendary!
It was Genzaniku (and not particularly good).
Has anyone tried salvaging a legendary yet?
Is it worth it, or should I try to get like 5k from the AH?

My absence from the thread after that post was indicative of the same; I actually only d/c'd once in a whole fucking hour. Amazing.

Pretty crazy how much more enjoyable the game became!! lol :p

How are people steamrollin this so fast! I'm soaking up every detail, letting the NPCs chat, checking out every nook and cranny. I don't even think I'm out of the first Act yet lol
 
Finding cheap rares in the auction house is so damn addicting. Found myself a cheap cloak for 1k.

I've got to stop, though. Bought a rare weapon and chest armor so far, I want to try and keep the game as vanilla as possible and try to find equipment by myself.

lol no if I went solo I would've beaten inferno already. Kinda. Solo is derp-mode.
 
soooooo... any tips for a barbarian thats absolutely getting his ass kicked in hell? Playing with a WD, and I'm usually just running away from stuff and trying not to get into melee range while he kills it. Getting rather frustrating.

You want vitality and strength gear. Switch to 1h+shield if you aren't using it already. Try to get weapons with lifesteal.

GAF spazzed like idiotic inbred children screaming after an ice cream truck when I asked if this character was merely in the game, so you confirming it w/o spoilers might get you physically assaulted. Heads up.
 
Well, I'm signed in now and having fun. Eager to get past the beta bits.

Hopefully some coop with an old friend tonight. Tried last night and it was a let down, obviously.
Fingers crossed.

Damn! Just hit the Tempe location on my way home from work, and they had none and I saw the clerk check their stock in Phoenix, None there either.


Sold out in Two and a half hours.
