How can I survive Nightmare if i'm a barbarian?

Not sure which skill combinations to use..I still end up dying while in groups in Act 1.
 
I was going to ask this same thing. Im a Demon Hunter, and supposedly equipping my templar with a shield will crash me. Has any other DH tested this since then? I really need my templar when in a solo game. I cannot exactly tank.

I mean fuck, it could be a bug on any of the other ones for a DH and next to noone would care, but ranged needs a bloody tank...

The bug, from what I understand, is if you give the Templar a shield before he officially joins you (so, in the few minutes after you find him in Act I up until you get the prompt as to whether you'd like him to join you). A blue did post that this bug has been corrected though. I had no problems giving my Templar a shield on my DH after he actually joined me.
 
are you talking about how the game seems to jump back, almost like a lag spike?

I think he means something that seems like a framerate drop, but it's like the game goes into slow motion for a second. It happens to me when there's nothing happening on screen, it's super smooth in fights, it's really weird to describe.

I'm hoping someone can clear up duel wielding and weapons for me in regards to the monk. The initial skill (fists of fury) says it does 110% of the weapon damage. Therefore if I have a 10 damage weapon fists of fury should hit for 11.

Now there are 2 types of damage, there's the damage that is listed on your weapon and the total damage dealt which takes into account your dexterity and other modifiers.

My first question is whether fists of fury does damage based on the number displayed on the weapon or the number after dexterity and item bonuses are added in?

The second is, if you are duel wielding is your damaged based on each individual weapon or the total damage done? Like is the first "fist" attack based off your first weapon and the second "fist" hit based off your offhand weapon? If its based on the main total of both weapons combined, what's the point of even duel wielding besides getting whatever stats from the offhand weapon? wouldn't it be better just to get a ton more armor from a shield?

Does weapon speed even matter? It seems the monk when using fists attacks at the same rate no matter the weapon I use. Is it all just for stats now?

Duel wielding also decreases the damage each weapon does right? If the monk isn't swinging both weapons and just using fists, wouldn't you just want one high damage weapon?

Poison Dart- w/ splinter
Arm grabby things- 80% slow speed
Horrify- w/ Phobia
Soul Harvest- w/ Swallow your soul
Firebats- w/ Direbats

The right thing to be doing is mostly intelligence > mana > vitality right?

Why the fuck isn't the dye system consistent? Bought some cardinal (red) dye from the AH, applied it to chest piece, looks cool and is red. Applied it to helmet, looks ridiculous and neon orange. Both were white before that. Ugh.

Anyone playing on Windows via Boot Camp? Wondering if it plays any better that way since I seem to be stuck in the ~15 FPS range no matter what I do on the Mac side.
 
Did you buy any rings of wounding from the fence in tristram? That helped my dps a lot in Act 1.

make sure you always use a weapon that has a higher dps/int. Just check all the weapons before you sell, if one has an increase in dmg (when compared it is green) use it.
 
They have said 2 at this point.

I cant wait to see what kind of acts we will get if it is only one at a time. The amount of detail and variety between the different areas is pretty staggering.

I cant wait to see the class types. Still needs to be at least one other class that focuses on strength.
 
Any Demon Hunters on GAF? I'm only one Act I but Entangling shot w/ Chain Gang + a Templar makes it nearly impossible to take any damage. I find that Hungering Arrow w/ the exploding Rune isn't very effective despite having a higher damage output.
 
Error 37 is getting real old. StarCraft 2 didn't have issues like this on launch week, did it? This makes me a little sad to be a Blizzard fan.

Question about the Monk - Do I suffer any damage penalties if I wear a non-fist weapon like a sword or axe for example?

Barely finding any fist weapons on my character.-_-

the only difference between weapon types are the class-specific types have class-specific abilities that you won't find on non class-specific weapons. rule of thumb is to just hover over the item and look at the stats at the bottom to see if it increases your damage or not.

More questions to kill the time!

When comparing gear (as a wizard), and the raw dps output they're providing, is the large-ass DPS number including Intel and +dmg bonuses? Like, can we just use that big number to assess how much damage we're getting from the thing?
 
Torrent is definitely as lame as it feels. I just hit level 17 and Arcane Orb is still my one and only baby. I'm hoping Disintegrate is useful.
Torrent is hella lame.

Disintegrate is fine, though. I think I still prefer the Orb thing because you can fire it and keep moving. The lightning is the only stationary attack that I like atm. and the ground-crawling lightning.

(level 20, I think)


Fuck this shit. Back to Dota2.

Sigh.... It was either this or Max Payne. I said to myself "I'm sure there will be some launch day hiccups, but I'm sure they'll be ironed out quickly." I could have been playing a single player game that doesn't boot me out because of fuck you that's why.
