The storyline for this was really bad.

Oh yeah game is fun as hell definitely, but if you think the story is good your standards are really really low.

Level 34, seen two drop (sold both)

Reached level 17 hardcore with 3 friends in Act 2. We are using vent for voice. My vent crashes, minimizing D3, and I die.

le sigh

I really wish they had used a voice protocol in game, I hate having to use third party options.

From now on I'll run vent on a separate laptop though.

game seems kinda short... i thought for certain it would be longer? are there different endings or vids for each class?

Doubt it'll be that different (havent beaten it yet), but you know the whole Diablo itinerary:

Play and beat normal -> Join up with others and play through on the next difficulty -> play through on an even harder difficulty -> hit up the expansion -> repeat = FUN.

I know voice chat is faster, but dont forget about good ol text chat.

So, holy shit, I think I found a solution to the rampant disconnects. A blizzard forum poster said he tried simply hitting ENTER on the main screen as soon as you log in, which has you join the General Chat. You just do that, and start your game.

Bam, haven't been disconnected once yet since.

Amazing.

I still don't understand how people finished this game in a day. lol

The biggest problem with the Diablo games' story is the storytelling. The lore is basic and fairly cliched but still fun, but you basically have to go read it in wikis to really get a sense of it. It's largely communicated poorly in the games themselves.

The games are most effective at visual storytelling through the environments and character designs, but the dialogue and texts in general are pretty badly done. It's hard to bring myself to care about what any of the characters are saying. I do like the bits of monster lore that you get in D3, though.

So.. I just saw this:

MANILA, Philippines — Popular PC role-playing game (RPG) Diablo III, which was released worldwide last Tuesday was ordered to be pulled off shelves and prohibited retailers from selling them after the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) was granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) by the Supreme Court (SC) after the church group found the game to be “too “evil” and “anti-Christian”.

Holy fucking shit. :lol

Every group I've ever been in in any Diablo game sole goal in terms of story content is to click/hit esc through it as fast as possible. Not sure if that is because it's so bad, or if it's so bad because no one cares.

Its not going to be some amazing epic, but if you've followed the story from 1 to here, you'll be really sucked in. Also there is the fact that the real ending will most likely be after the final expansion the game sees. Just like Diablo II.

I wouldnt say no one cares. You have people who do the same in every MMO game, co-op RPG, or co-op game period.

Its like people who are fans of Halo, but end up playing with people that blab during cutscenes and just blast through areas.

Different strokes for different folks and all that.

is it normal that whenever i use the attack button on my WD(with shift even) the whole screen flickers slightly even if i just shoot a random blowdart in town?

seems to be since my gf has the exact same thing happening on her PC with her barbarian, it's just kinda irritating and i never noticed this before in the beta hmmm...

how far can you go in the starter edition? i'm about to

ACT 1 SPOILERS
kill the skeleton king,
END SPOILERS

anyone know how much I've got left?

edit: also how much do you guys use
the blacksmith to create stuff?

Quick question: I know exp between my follower and character is the same but if I load my follower with exp+ items, do I get the exp bonus as well?

Here you guys go. Anyone want to join me on Hell in Americas?
Monk FEELS the best so far (Have not gotten others high), dunno how other classes deal with surviving.

Fuck, your monk looks beastly.

Any tips for me? I just hit Act II normal (level 16), and I'm finding the game tougher and tougher.

Dude you are a beast.... 2k dps on a monk. That is so absurd.

Edit: Do Jeweling pages drop more often later? They are rare as hell so far.

Finally beat Act I and it was awesome, so much of this game is made for people who have loved Diablo from the beginning, like total nostalgia overload. Plus I absolutely love the new art style.

I just did the stupidest thing ever. I accidently dropped my legendary amulet and now my cousin won't give it back to me :(

FUUUUUCK

Don't buy it until you get a job, mayne! Don't shoot yourself in the knee foot!

Am I supposed to be able to have 3 friends constantly make 3 new characters, join my game, have me kill a boss in 20 seconds, have them loot all the golds, pass them to me, delete there characters and continue? This seems kind of wrong.

As with any MMO, "exploit early & exploit often". If it's really a big deal, it will be patched out soon.

what does that do? more ppl = more gold dropped? why do they have to loot it then? they get more cuz lower leveled?

i'll have a job within a week after buying it! promise!

So, fuck, I'm like fully in Auction House Rares and Magics appropriate for my level (18). WHy is all the gear I'm finding at my place in the game (Act II) for level 9-12?

Still no disconnects. The General Chat thing had to be it. What a stupid thing to have ruined all my play the last two days. I'm so happy now.

Will I be able to keep my Starter Edition/guest pass progress if I buy the game from retail? Or only if I upgrade/buy it digitally from Blizzard?

What do your friends get out of this ?

Thats just how it is. I also seem to be to high level for the drops I tend to get. Taking 15k to the AH and grabbing cheap buyout yellows can really boost your gear insanely well. Its sort of awesome in a way. The drops you get, you then turn and AH for characters lower level than you who are ALSO sick of their own drops being to low level. Kind of a revolving door.

I like this game, I like it a lot.

I am usually a big critic of wRPGs, but Blizzard nailed it.

I bought a L10 22.2 DPS dagger with a +2-3 arcane damage bonus and 1.00% healing bonus for 250 coins in the AH. I think whoever put it up there must have put the wrong Buyout on there, because that's too good of a steal.
