Inferno as Monk sucks ballllllls.
Maybe I just need to stack dodge, go ranged, and get 40kHP from my 26k.
Inferno Hardcore strategy:

1. Farm money to buy stuff off AH - don't risk getting killed yourself if you don't have to.
2. Still have 99.9% chance of dying to something.
GL getting to Inferno HC lol
Inferno seems so hard. It's doesn't even look fun anymore.
It's extremely punishing. I feel kind of cheated for any skill/dodge component due to how enemy melee works (15 yard range), large latencies, and many lag spikes.

It is tense though.
Haha! While idle, this happened.

I have heard the first part before but did not expect the last part to happen then.
I've been taking the scoundrel and he mentioned that he overheard the templar liking the enchantress.
Small quips about how there are 5 monsters left in the cellar for Act I (voiced) are really nice.

With no skill tree, this game is almost 100% skill dependent. I am lvl 42 act 2 nightmare and champion mobs are pwning me and my lowly blues.

i think that is what blizzard is going for. It promotes the whole loot grind mechanic and makes the AH an invaluable resource to getting through the game.

alright thanks.

Also, is it better to level the jeweler or the crafter artisan? Can't really afford to do both lol

Depends on your progress. You won't really need the Jeweler past his first level until Nightmare (which is probably good since you need Pages to upgrade him after that anyway). The Blacksmith is stupidly useful for crafting Rares, though.

Edit: Though, if you plan to use the AH at all, the Blacksmith isn't all that important I guess.

High dps weapon with a decent quality ruby socketed.

Pretty much this, think my Bow is like 60DPS it added like 130 damage when I equipped it. Wonder just how far you could push it, most of my gear isn't that great and my gems are average. You can also get all the items for under 1000 gold.

Just finished an all-nighter with my Wizard buddy. Finished normal and started into nightmare. Took about ~19 hours but some of that time was probably us dicking off and we explored every nook and cranny.

Here is my barbarian:

edit: So far, Nightmare is really easy.

Anyone else finding themselves getting to Nightmare and having to swap out their skills? For Normal its all offensive stuff but as things get harder, I have to start using defensive/stun stuff way more.

Finished act 1 last night, my playtime for my character is at 8 hours, and I spent a little bit in co-op, but not much. REAL SPOILER
Yes it was spoiled before, but seeing the/a Butcher made me smile and get giddy, and then terror because I remember what a pain he was in D1, but he wasn't that tough here
The end cutscene for Act 1 was pure awesome as well. I know we're at a point in most games where in game cutscenes suit most games, but man, Blizzard proves again how incredible a well done CGI cutscene can be.

So I'm quite far in Nightmare and just realized that I can extend my stash. Was thinking that this is a pretty shitty design decision from Blizzard.

I won't extend my stash until I have filled up a bunch of mules... money better spent on the AH and Artisans IMO.

Finally finished Act I on normal last night - took me 9 hours. Started Act II and I don't really like as much as Act I. Act I was awesome loved the atmosphere.

I disagree, I've crafted many magic items that were better than drops for leveling.
The way I see it:

Level 1-11 who cares
Level 11-21 5-10k item for DPS
Level 21-31 15-45k item for DPS
31-45 60-90k
45-50 whatever
50-52 something
60+ who knows

Nothing else really matters. It's nice but not needed. Junk items that only have +Main Stat are fine. Toss in some Vit.

Doesn't seem cost effective at all, out so easily outpace the items that a smith gives you.

OH MY GOD ACT IV

holy fuck i died like twice within the first 5 minutes coz i was so busy looking at the backgrounds. holy fuck. how can people say its not a FUCKING BEAUTIFUL GAME?!

wasn't completely surprised at the plot development at this point though. BUT OH DEAR GOD THIS GAME IS GORGEOUS. and the ramp up in the mobs. wow.

question: i just started act 4, so can i read the art book or watch the blu ray now? is it the extent of the plot twists and stuff?

Meh, Normal is easy enough to /afk through basically and you'll hit a wall on your Artisans without the page drops. Besides, it's like 40k Gold to get the Stash to a max tab.

Well ... those items you're buying are from Crafting so ...

I see what you're saying, but 5-10k at 21 and 14-45k at 31, thats really high. With each item you get three random properties, and a chance for a socket, so there's a lot of room for getting some awesome shit for leveling. Plus, what the hell else are you going to do with all the magic garbage that drops other than salvage it.

Everytime I play the cost of rares goes up. First day blues were 1-2k , second rares where and then I was on last night and the lowest price for a rare was 10k with people trying to get up to 200k!

I imagine by the time I get to play tonight it will have shot up again!

Really? Maybe it's because none of my guys are really high level but it's super cheap in the 20's. If you do a basic search there are all kinds of people trying to sell basic yellows for 100,000's to 1 million but if I set a max buyout amount between 2 and 5k those same items are there for way less price.

A shame that search filter doesn't seem to want to work half the time for me :|
